File source problem with File:Queenoman1.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:Queenoman1.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of that website's terms of use of its content. However, if the copyright holder is a party unaffiliated from the website's publisher, that copyright should also be acknowledged.

If you have uploaded other files, consider verifying that you have specified sources for those files as well. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged images may be deleted one week after they have been tagged per Wikipedia's criteria for speedy deletion, F4. If the image is copyrighted and non-free, the image will be deleted 48 hours after 05:31, 6 December 2010 (UTC) per speedy deletion criterion F7. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. KrakatoaKatie 05:31, 6 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

This is an automated message from CorenSearchBot. I have performed a web search with the contents of Oman World Fireworks Championship, and it appears to include material copied directly from http://wfchampionship.com.

It is possible that the bot is confused and found similarity where none actually exists. If that is the case, you can remove the tag from the article. The article will be reviewed to determine if there are any copyright issues.

If substantial content is duplicated and it is not public domain or available under a compatible license, it will be deleted. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material. You may use such publications as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. See our copyright policy for further details. (If you own the copyright to the previously published content and wish to donate it, see Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials for the procedure.) CorenSearchBot (talk) 06:23, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Oman World Fireworks Championship requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hang on}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion, or "db", tag; if no such tag exists, then the page is no longer a speedy delete candidate and adding a hang-on tag is unnecessary), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. jsfouche ☽☾Talk 06:45, 11 December 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Images

[edit]

Hello, while I appreciate your desire to get images for our coverage of the Libyan events, I must ask you to stop uploading non-free screenshots from youtube and the like. We cannot make any exceptions to our strict copyright rules just because the events are important and dramatic, and such clips cannot be assumed to be copyright-free merely because they have been circulating in the media. (News media can sometimes use them under special fair-use rules for purposes of immediate news reporting, but we aren't a news medium and our purpose isn't to make our readers participate in the current events anyway, per WP:NOTNEWS.) Look at the similarities...that website has picked up the photos i uploaded which I ahev either clicked from a Nikon dig cam or my N85/N73 nokia mobile phone and has put in the tag "ekskurzii" between the name of the files - i mean the file's names are as same as I put them, You could probably use some online web caching service to check which mages - mine or this websites were published first!!! - i shouldn't have issued in to public license - if this was going to happen !!!! --PranavJ 18:12, 26 February 2011 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pranav21391 (talkcontribs)

--Look at the metadata of all the images - N95 (my friend's I can send you the actual files if u wish on an email id or something), the Nikon images - I have like sets of those - because we were trying to get the best shots - I can send you those too - I obviously uploaded only the best, and others present - can send you images taken before/after in the same place (some ahve me in it-so wasnt uploading those on wikipedia right) Pranav21391 (talk —Preceding undated comment added 18:18, 26 February 2011 (UTC).[reply]

[edit]

You currently appear to be engaged in an edit war according to the reverts you have made on RSS. Users are expected to collaborate with others, to avoid editing disruptively, and to try to reach a consensus rather than repeatedly undoing other users' edits once it is known that there is a disagreement.

Please be particularly aware that Wikipedia's policy on edit warring states:

  1. Edit warring is disruptive regardless of how many reverts you have made.
  2. Do not edit war even if you believe you are right.

If you find yourself in an editing dispute, use the article's talk page to discuss controversial changes; work towards a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at an appropriate noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases it may be appropriate to request temporary page protection. If you engage in an edit war, you may be blocked from editing. Capitals00 (talk) 09:15, 14 December 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Declined speedy deletion: Amitabh Mitra

[edit]

Hi, Pranav21391! I wanted to let you know that I declined your G4 speedy deletion nomination for Amitabh Mitra as the page is significantly different than the one discussed at AfD. When nominating a page for G4 speedy deletion, it's valuable to review the previous discussion for hints as to whether the article may have been significantly changed since the discussion. For example, the Amitabh Mitra page was brought to AfD in 2011, so you might look at the references for the current Amitabh Mitra page to see if any sources cited were published after 2011. However, sometimes the issues brought up at AfD have not been addressed. If you think the Amitabh Mitra article does not demonstrate the subject's notability, feel free to bring it to AfD. Thank you for helping make Wikipedia better! Significa liberdade (she/her) (talk) 14:29, 2 October 2024 (UTC)[reply]
