Forced Wikibreak

Following an extremely sensible suggestion by Brambleclawx, I am going to take a forced Wikibreak of 3 days. If that turns out not to be long enough, I will take longer. I have been over-working myself here recently and gone a little crazy as a result. See you all soon (unless I screw up in which case expect some funny numbers to start appearing here with comments like "NOOOOOOOOOO....!" or "Erm, a little help..." etc Think I have it figured out though: wish me me luck! --Jubileeclipman 03:50, 24 May 2010 (UTC)

See you around. In case of emergency, dial 1800WPADMIN!--mono 03:57, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
If you break your wikibreak I will ban you from my talk page for the rest of the summer. Is that enough incentive? Or, that we're expecting you to be a mature example for us? Seriously, chill and have fun IRL. Of course, I won't know if you break it, because after I log off tonight I won't be on for a few days. So we'll be gone at the same time. PrincessofLlyr royal court 03:58, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Thank Mono! Not sure that number works in the UK, though... Sorry again (again) for my craziness. And Princess: yes that's all incentive enough! Have fun IRL also! BTW, could someone watch MeisMyself for me while I am away? She hasn't done much recently but she asked a question over at the Swimming Project and seems interested in Warriors so she might just ask a few more questions here. Thanks --Jubileeclipman 04:05, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Woah. Even your grammar is a bit messed up now. Well have fun; I assume you're using the enforcer, judging by the forced part. Have fun, and don't worry, Airplaneman and me will take care of your talk page). Brambleclawx 14:26, 24 May 2010 (UTC)
Funny, your grammar's a bit strange too: "Airplaneman and me"? Anyway, turns out that I'm still around, so I'm keeping an eye on his stuff too. PrincessofLlyr royal court 12:23, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
I was just trying to avoid the "me and -" thing. Very bad grammar. Should've been Airplaneman and I. Anyways, thought I'd let you all know that I will most certainly be gone all weekend, at some sort of Leadership thing; apparently, I will be kept busy all the time there, so I will not be even logging on. Brambleclawx 22:04, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
It's okay, I was just giving you a hard time. Have a nice conference thing. I thought I was going to be gone because I had my wisdom teeth removed, but I've still been able to get on through the pain and all. Anyway, sounds like we're all going to be off and on for awhile. PrincessofLlyr royal court 22:42, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks. I have a killer schedule over the next week, so I think my edit rate is going to drop even more within the next 7 days. Brambleclawx 22:47, 25 May 2010 (UTC)
@Princess: Oh my. It hurts (I know from experience and the puffy cheeks and stuff...) Exams for me are over the next week. Must... not... log... IN!!! Airplaneman 23:54, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

←My exams end Thursday!--mono 00:00, 26 May 2010 (UTC)

Wisdom teeth, eh? Haven't had those yet. Good luck on finishing up exams. When you're done, I assume you're pretty much free from school-work, so maybe it would be a good time to update the Warriors to-do. Gotta add some stuff like books that need wikifying, and some other stuff that can be found on talk pages. (I don't expect Mono will do anything in terms of WP:Warriors, since he probably hasn't read it, so sorry about the confusion: the comment was directed at Airplaneman and Princess) Brambleclawx 00:20, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
Wow, Airplaneman, you must have had yours out pretty early. And yeah, my face is about twice the size of what it normally is and still fairly painful. But so far, no one has seen me except my family, which is a distinct advantage of being homeschooled. Anyway, I'll try to work on Warriors stuff when I have time, BCx. Hope exams go well for you all. PrincessofLlyr royal court 01:09, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
Yup, I did (for my braces...) ok, ok, enough off-topic discussion; was just verifying... I might not be on for the next week or so, so see you guys later! Airplaneman 01:59, 26 May 2010 (UTC)
  • Thanks for looking after my stuff guys and gal. Hope all your teeth are OK also. See below for a small confession... --Jubileeclipman 21:03, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

Thank you for reviewing me

I just wanted to say thanks for your review of my editing. I agreed with most of your comments, and I will do my best to follow your advice. strdst_grl (call me Stardust) 07:53, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

No problem! Glad to help. PrincessofLlyr royal court 12:21, 25 May 2010 (UTC)

Back from purgatory

Well that was an experience! I actually logged in a couple of times either by disabling my Javascript or by changing my clock's time just to see if it was possible but never edited. Disabling Javascript disables other functionality on WP like the edit bar and insert menus and the lists under arrows etc, as well as your gadgets so you are hardly logged in at all! Changing the computer's clock just confuses (and takes ages in Vista because you have to go through the UAC). I'll be honest and admit I made about 4 edits as an IP (apart from the one the Cat alluded to above in his "bad grammar" comment) but they were in XfD debates that needed reminding of the rules - e.g. Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:NerdyScienceDude/Vandalism space (2nd nomination): "Comment - The page should be moved back per MfD instructions...". Talking of that debate, I notice your adoptee has a similar page: User:Hereforhomework2/Insult me or vandalize!. Personally, I would strongly encourage her to CSD U1 it. NSD's page degenerated into a mess of homophobia, racism and other extremely objectionable content. I can see her point in moving objectionable statements there from her talkpage but I think deletion is far better than preservation elsewhere (and any admin investigating vandalism, personal attacks, disruption etc. will know where to look in the history to find the objectionable edits, anyway, obviously). Anyway, I'll get on with useful work now! Hope y'all is well! --Jubileeclipman 20:40, 27 May 2010 (UTC)

I agree—about you your last sentence, shouldn't it be "Hope y'all are well!"? :D Welcome back! Airplaneman 21:29, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
Welcome back! And you know, I did think it strange that an IP was exhibiting such policy knowledge - makes sense now! I will talk to Homework about that page. Honestly, I feel bad because I think a lot of the younger users end up interacting more because they edit the same articles and then learning from each other. Of course, it's not always good stuff they learn, which is the problem. Anyway, if we're going to fix grammar here, Airplaneman's comment seems to be missing an "r". PrincessofLlyr royal court 21:56, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
Caught me there :). (BTW, I am aware this is rude to do to people you don't know, but I'm assuming y'all are fine with it?) Fixing... Oh, and an interesting thing to look at is WP:DASH. I like using dashes correctly, but don't always—this has helped immensely... Airplaneman 22:00, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
I don't know about the others, but I don't mind having my grammar fixed. It's been terrible the last few days. I think I've checked everything and post it, but when I go back I find missing words and such. I think it was the pain distracting me. Anyway, the dash thing is cool. Only, how do you make an em dash instead of en? Oh, but it does say that spaced en dashes can be used, so that's what I'll do! WP is such a learning experience! PrincessofLlyr royal court 22:07, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
Em dash(—)=& m d a s h ; (without spaces - nowiki doesn't work on this one). En dash (–)=& n d a s h ; Airplaneman 22:14, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
— is written as — (see the edit to understand...). Dashes... pages of discussion over in the archives of WP:MOS about those... eek. And dashes/hyphens/minuses are one of the hardest things of all to understand and apply correctly at all times! BTW, Princess: when you say "a lot of the younger users" are you counting yourself? Anyway everyone can correct me grammar any time you likes! I know I do... Thanks for the welcome back, and I hope I passed the requirements to avoid the ban! --Jubileeclipman 23:10, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
Oh. BTW, the two unicode symbols are actually included in the insert bar (or whatever the thing under the edit window is called), so you can avoid the horrible html coding: the shorter one is the endash, the longer, the emdash. If someone really wants to change to the coded version let them get on with it but there is no requirement either way --Jubileeclipman 23:32, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
Yikes! So many things to learn! I haven't read the entire manual of style. I simply cannot worry about that many nit-picky details. Yes, I am counting myself among those younger users. Uh...um, ban...oh yeah! I suppose I'll let you off the hook this time. And I might let you off for the mistake on "y'all" - that's not typical British slang, right? Because even American yankees make fun of it, so I'm thinking it might not be all that common in the UK. PrincessofLlyr royal court 23:40, 27 May 2010 (UTC)
I think I've pretty much got it down already: hyphen for joining words like "Rock-like", mdash for interruption like "When I find you, I am going to—", and ndash, which I never use. In terms of grammar, I don't mind people fixing it for me; sometimes, when I'm typing fast, or when I'm tired, I make a lot of typing mistakes. I'm gone tomorrow morning, so from now until Sunday, you three have free rein over my talk page. Brambleclawx 23:47, 27 May 2010 (UTC) Add and if Airplaneman and Princess can keep a lookout for any thing related to "SkyClan's Destiny", that'd be great (apparently, somebody copied the sneak preview of SkyClan's Destiny out of Seekers: Fire in the Sky, and posted it to Warriors Wish (a super-popular fansite), though I can't access the pages the sneak preview is actually on through HarperCollins' browse inside, so therefore, no RS yet). Add even more: Trying to prepare for as many possible situations that could possibly occur, so I may seem like I'm demanding a lot of you guys (and girl). Keep an eye on the three users I just warned for social-networking (and not editing mainspace whatsoever). (see my contribs by clicking the x in my sig.) Brambleclawx 00:25, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

Emdashes are simply half way between commas and brackets. Endashes are used to join otherwise independent words that need to remain separate if the construction is to make sense: Michelson–Morley experiment (Michelson-Morley might be a double-barrelled name), male–female ratio (cf. male-female which seems to refer to some androgynous being). They are also used for ranges where "to" would usually substitute: the 1939–45 war. Hyphens are used to join words, suffixes etc. where the juxtaposition of the words or elements actually affects the semantic meaning itself and are usually used to avoid ambiguity: re-dress (as opposed to "re", "dress" and "redress"), "Best-selling girl-groups" (cf. "Best selling girl groups" and add hyphens in various places to find several different meanings...), "little-celebrated paintings" (as opposed to "little celebrated-paintings") etc. Some prefixes need them at all times. Hope that helps! I'll check out those users, now --Jubileeclipman 00:41, 28 May 2010 (UTC)

  • Hm. Correction: those "editors" have made some edits in mainspace but usually of the editorializing or commentating type, i.e. not quite vandalism but not really adding anything either. They just seem to be here because the userspace is free and easy to edit, i.e. they are social-networking as you point out in the warnings. Will keep an eye out. Probably needs to go to AN/I (or another appropriate forum) if it goes on for much longer --Jubileeclipman 00:59, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
  • Oh and yes: it is "free rein": it refers to horse riding where you give your horse a "free rein" to go in the direction it desires rather than the one you desire --Jubileeclipman 01:12, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Interesting, Jubilee :). I learn so much new stuff every day thanks to Wikipedia! @Princess: this thread will be of interest to you. I'd explain myself, but I need to go. Airplaneman 02:57, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Airplaneman. I already (sorta) explained progressive warnings, so I think maybe she's just confused about which edits he's talking about. And of course, that had to happen right after I'd taken his page off my watchlist. I'll keep an eye on it. BCx, will be watching Warriors stuff and three users. Massive case of myspacing. Will have to remember for the next time someone accuses us of that. How did you find those guys anyway? PrincessofLlyr royal court 03:50, 28 May 2010 (UTC)
I'm back. Those users, I found through RCP, when Powerpackedpikachu removed a sinebot notice about using four tildes. Brambleclawx 22:59, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

Sun Kudumbam Awards

Can you clarify why you have tagged those few articles for deletion? According to your explanation on my talk page, you think the pages you have tagged are similar to the Sun Kudumbam Awards page, but it actually isn't. It's formatted the same way as any other film awards articles (main page describing the the awards and then articles branching out for each specific award). What's wrong with that? Eelam StyleZ (talk) 02:46, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Well, that is the correct format, but I did a little research and don't feel that there is enough coverage out there to justify a separate article for each award. All of those articles were virtually identical, only changed for the award. They were also stubs, with very little chance of expanding. I think it's better to have the one main article and perhaps expand it. PrincessofLlyr royal court 12:25, 29 May 2010 (UTC)

Comments Re: My Editor Review

I only have one. Regarding adoption status and such, no, I am not adopted at present. My prior adopter had disappeared from Wikipedia for a protracted period, and that along with learning needed Wikipedia skills on my own made me choose to end the relationship. ShawnIsHere: Now in colors 22:43, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Okay, no problem. I was just thinking that if you did still have an adopter they might be able to make more suggestions, having continually interacted with you. It's not really that big a deal. PrincessofLlyr royal court 03:41, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

New usertools

How do you place stuff on your user page such as talk page stalkers, edit counters, logs and so forth?

Feel free to edit my user page if you know how to and can do it...

WHOA! Where did that come from... :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 07:02, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Okay, good question, only I'm not positive I completely understand. There are userboxes that will display such things here and here. Here is an article about watchers/tps's with a link to the tool for seeing how many you have. Here is my favorite edit counter. Does that answer your question? PrincessofLlyr royal court 13:57, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks, P of L, I'll be sure to include the tools on my userpage... but could you please talk to me before you add in a userbox? I already have plenty of those, and an extra one seems a bit unneccessary, although I appreciate the effort. Cheers, :| TelCoNaSpVe :| 05:03, 3 June 2010 (UTC)
No problem. I added the userbox to show you an example of a userbox that displays edits. You can remove it. I won't mind! PrincessofLlyr royal court 13:07, 3 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi :)

No worries - I know him offline so I was pretty sure that a. he wouldn't see it and b. he'd probably forgotten he was still on the list. Hope you have a good weekend (it's a long weekend over here thanks to Foundation Day). Orderinchaos 09:33, 5 June 2010 (UTC)

Some comments?

Hey thanks for reviewing me, thanks to your comments, I will try to improve how I will contribute. When you said about the contrast of my mainspace and user talk page contributions, that is because I am most familiar with handling with new users, I am not very good in contributing. One possible reason why I occasionally have problems with CSD or AfD work is (apart from not fully understanding policies) I am sometimes in a rush. Oh yes and I am interested in becoming an admin for some time now, I was hoping for some comments so I will know if I will be ready to become an admin. I would also like some help on learning how to contribute. Thanks. Narutolovehinata5 tccsdnew 08:31, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I will try to come back with some more future RfA notes when I have time. For help on learning to contribute, I could do that informally, adopt you, or you could request the help from someone else. Your choice. I'm always glad to help! PrincessofLlyr royal court 12:23, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Editor review

Thank you for reviewing my editor review request. When you stated you could think of other areas I could get involved in, could you specify which? Regards. Immunize (talk) 17:11, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Certainly. In no particular order, WP:FEED, WP:MOTD, WP:TOTD, Signpost, WP:PR, WP:ADOPT, WP:REFDESK, WP:XFD. Really, anywhere that could use more help. There's a lot that can be done behind the scenes. PrincessofLlyr royal court 02:43, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for the feedback on my editor review page.

FYI, after going to the rather fun uk:Chapter:Backstage Pass event last week, I have been getting involved with a fair amount of article improvement via WP:GLAM/BM, so this will improve the balance of my contributions to article space a little. Mind you I have really enjoyed "patrolling" new users so I'll probably remain rather biased to talk page contributions compared to other editors. Cheers (talk) 16:49, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Oh wow! You were fast on that one. I have no problem whatsoever with welcoming new users and having a higher level of user talk edits. My own percentages hang precariously balanced. However, I do feel that to be able to help new users in some areas and, whether you care about this or not, gain the respect of the community, an editor does need a certain amount of experience in article work. But each to his own. New users need welcoming! PrincessofLlyr royal court 16:58, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Mmm - Milk!
Jubileeclipman thought you could do with a drink to wash all the food down. (Or feed to the kitten assuming you haven't... no of course not. ) Milk somehow promotes WikiLove and hopefully this has made your day better. Spread the WikiLove by giving someone else a glass of milk, whether it be someone you have had disagreements with in the past or someone putting up with some stick at this time. Enjoy!
Oh wow! Thanks guys! I'll have lots of healthy eating for tonight. I'm just curious, N5iln, how did you find me? PrincessofLlyr royal court 00:17, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Yes Mono, but he had to have a reason for searching me. Brambleclawx, my favorite cat, thanks! I will add this kitten to my collection (2 now, I think) and definitely not eat it. Is this shower the Princess with love day? Thanks again all, that makes me feel much better. I might even try to get something done here now! PrincessofLlyr royal court 03:53, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

I fixed the noindex thing for you: hope I did the right thing! It uses two underlines either side: see Template:NOINDEX --Jubileeclipman 21:31, 30 May 2010 (UTC)

You still have to NOINDEX your subpages, in case you haven;t checked yet. I doubt anything can be done about mirrors, but your subpages are still coming up, as well as Commons, Wiktionary, and other language Wiki. And Princess, is that your twitter, or someone else? (I found a BCx on Twitter when I googled myself). — Preceding unsigned comment added by Brambleclawx (talkcontribs)
That's true. I forgot about the subpages (mine and everyone else's!). I think the twitter is a mirror --Jubileeclipman 01:05, 31 May 2010 (UTC)

Oh wow. Um, thanks for fixing it. I have not tagged my subpages, will do that sometime. The PoL on Twitter is not me. Which is sad, because I won't be able to use that when I do get Twitter. Anyway, you will probably won't find me anywhere else on the web currently. Someday perhaps, but not right now. Good work, Airplaneman! I need to get back to work assessing. Maybe something for tomorrow. PrincessofLlyr royal court 03:26, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Ok. Got that. I noticed the twitter BCx is using twitter like a role-play? Brambleclawx 22:51, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Interesting...and a tad confusing. So guys, being the terrific tps's you are, want to help with John D. Lambris? This article is turning out to be the biggest headache. I originally found it on NPP, was totally copied from a website, so I blanked and began trying to write a real article. Problem is, he's science/med, which I know absolutely nothing about. Now there's a csd tag for notability. I'm feeling slightly overwhelmed. PrincessofLlyr royal court 22:57, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
"If... you intend to fix it, please remove this notice." Since you're not the author, I think it would be ok to just remove the CSD tag, claim notability ASAP, and then work on it more when you're more ready to do so. Brambleclawx 23:06, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I removed the notice: as BCX BCx says, only the creator of the page needs to use hangon. BTW, my contributions will continue to be limited as I concentrate on RL stuff. I'll be around to annoy everyone as usual as often as I can though... :) --Jubileeclipman 23:24, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
Yes, I'm into science (biology, physics and such – I don't edit around that area because I don't get all of it yet). I'll look through the search results posted on the talk page tomorrow (last exams tomorrow, should be studying right now...) and see what (if any) sense I can make of them. I'm probably no better off than you, Princess, but it's worth a try. Airplaneman 23:30, 31 May 2010 (UTC) P.S. You have a new message at User talk:Malcolmxl5#Tags on Neil Grainger. Airplaneman 23:33, 31 May 2010 (UTC)
I too am into science (and music), mostly medicine, but I'm not particularly experienced in that stuff, so you're probably better than I am at that stuff. Brambleclawx 00:30, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
Hey, I'm not experienced, either! :) Airplaneman 01:05, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

You all are amazing. I've so often been on the csd tagging side that I don't even know how to deal with them! Anyway, I'm going to keep working on it and I've put about a few requests for help, so I think maybe it's safe for now. I think that's the first time I've been seriously annoyed about anything around here. In a case like that, where the subject is obviously notable, indicated or not, tag it with notability or something, don't csd it! Stuff gets deleted that way! So, on a totally different note, what do you guys think of the rearrangement on my user page? PrincessofLlyr royal court 03:39, 1 June 2010 (UTC)

I personally like it more. Homework2 TalkWhat I do 19:03, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
Yup, like it more! And yea, I know I said this a while back, but I didn't get off to as good of a start as any of you guys :). I know what getting a page deleted feels like (I think I misspelled the title of one of them anyways...) Airplaneman 19:31, 1 June 2010 (UTC)
I feel that I need to make more articles. The Sign of the Moon would be a good idea, except it's not notable yet. Canadian Cat Association probably hasn't been touched since I moved it to article space, and the bot added something. Brambleclawx 01:15, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
You don't need to do anything; you're a volunteer, and you can quit anytime! But yea, I suppose it's fun; I sure think it is :). Airplaneman 02:46, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
The Airman has a point! Anyway, bad start or not, you were doing pretty well by the time I got to you! And the community does tend to look down on you if you haven't created much, especially if you RfA. Not like I care...but I'm still wanting to create an article. Need to remember to work on James Cross while I have the book. Which reminds me, Airplaneman (others too), I do not mind you helping! I don't own the article, even if it is in my userspace. Check this out: [1], [2], [3]. I'm thinking, "Yikes!" PrincessofLlyr royal court 03:49, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Your userpage looks great! Important stuff at the top everything else hidden. Regarding Airplaneman's bad start... User talk:Jubileeclipman/Archive 1. Um. Hence my asking for adoption (see the next archive). Brambleclawx: creating articles is a mine field and my first attempts were merged and redirected elsewhere. I have since created a few on notable composers as well as 21st-century classical music and Post-tonal music theory, things I understand and love studying basically. You could create that article as long as you can find enough sources to back it up—say, at least three that discuss the subject in reasonable detail. Good luck! --Jubileeclipman 21:46, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

←See, I never archived that stuff; I had a rocky start too. mono 21:52, 2 June 2010 (UTC)

Pretty sure I must be the only one without a rough start...weird. I think most newbies do make lots of mistakes. There are too many policies to learn them all before you do something wrong. Unless, of course, you're super timid, like me, and don't do anything controversial. BCx, if you start the article in a sandbox we can all pitch in and you'll have C/B - class article when it goes live! PrincessofLlyr royal court 22:07, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Anyone want to move this to a real time discussion at ##trode, my IRC channel? (for those without clients, for those without java) moo, ooonocelebrating 10,000 edits 22:21, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, sandbox it. That's what I do. I can ask people for comments as I create it so that when it's ready to go live most of the problems have been ironed out. Also, don't worry if someone else happens to create the article in mainspace before you move your version over: not only can you just merge your article in after talking to the other editor, but also you have found yet another collaborator to work with in the future. @Mono: no thanks: I don't trust the privacy on IRC channels and much prefer talkpages where the edits are preserved in the WP history --Jubileeclipman 22:31, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
Besides, doing it here keeps us accountable for not Myspacing! Actually Mono, what you're saying makes sense, but we've pretty much established that most of us can't or won't do IRC for various reasons. Sorry. PrincessofLlyr royal court 22:39, 2 June 2010 (UTC)
There's no way that article will have any sources at the moment, so writing it would be like a pathetic attempt to write a novel without a plot. Thanks for offering anyway. . And actually Princess, I had a smooth start too (but I was hyper timid too; problem was, no one at WP:WARRIORS was active to answer me). Very clever signature, Mono. About James Underwood Cross (when I saw Underwood, I immediately thought "Grover!" lol): if you're reading a book on him (think you mentioned that earlier) it might be beneficial to reference the exact page in the book you got the info from (good for GA, FA reviews, etc.) Airplaneman 03:18, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

@BCX: Thx. I got the idea from the bottom of Google search results. (goooooooooogle) mono 03:46, 4 June 2010 (UTC)
Will do. Yeah, I thought Grover too...WP has made me entirely too familiar with PJO. His middle name is actually on the page with all the publication info and such. How do I reference that? PrincessofLlyr royal court 12:15, 4 June 2010 (UTC)

I'm offended! (cue mock indignation) Anyway, I'm glad you enjoyed it Airplaneman. I haven't done much huggling recently. In fact I haven't been around here much at all - real life is catching up again. I'm going to try to catch up on a few things next week and then I'm on wikibreak the week after that (unavoidable, unfortunately). At some point I want to work on War and Peace. Has anyone else read it (the book, not article) or am I the only crazy one? PrincessofLlyr royal court 03:51, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
I read War and Peace a couple years ago—not for an assignment, just because I wanted to see what it was like. Took me several days, and I wasn't sure if it was worth it. Some of it was really good, but the characters didn't really pull me in as much as some books; and some of the more philosophical chapters really slowed the action down to say the least. Which translation did you read? I believe I read the one by the Maudes. That's one section of the article that could use some expansion, is the translation history of the book. Princess Lirin (talk) 04:56, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
I have read it. Fascinating insights into Napoleon's Russian Campaign from multiple angles. I loved the bumbling idiot Pierre and found Natasha enchanting. I'll help out on the rework if I get a chance. What issues have you spotted? --Jubileeclipman 21:41, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

Lirin, are you absolutely positive we're not separated twins or something? I'm also reading it for fun...not sure which translation. Jubilee, as you can see, probably the tags at the top are the most pressing issues. The later citations are not formatted either, just links. I haven't actually read the entire way through the article yet, because I haven't actually read the book yet, just the first three chapters (that alone took about 45 minutes, so it's going to be a long read). I'm reading it partially just to say I have; even the librarian who checked it out for me said I would find it boring. So far very interesting. I love the way he immediately begins the story, no preamble, unlike Dickens in A Tale of Two Cities. It was an accomplishment to make it through the first chapter of that! Anyway, enough rambling. Just wanted to mention that as my latest future project in case anyone else was interested. PrincessofLlyr royal court 21:56, 11 June 2010 (UTC)

I have to say that Lirin must be a quick reader if she got through it in "a few days". Took me months, on and off! (Confession: I still haven't finished the Epilogues...) The Tone tag seems a bit strange. Not read the article yet, however, and the talkpage doesn't give me much of a clue of what is "wrong" with the tone. The links need sorting big time though: I hadn't spotted those. Also, some of them aren't really RSs; IMDb, for example, should be in ELs (and it turns up four or five times). BTW, this thread is almost becoming as long and complex as that book! Perhaps a new thread...? --Jubileeclipman 22:13, 11 June 2010 (UTC)
I thought that too (fast reader)! Anyway, be my guest for a new thread! I've been meaning to archive for about a week now and haven't gotten around to it. PrincessofLlyr royal court 03:09, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Grab some glory, and a barnstar

Hi, I'd like to invite you to participate in the Guild of Copy Editors July 2010 Backlog Elimination Drive. In May, about 30 editors helped remove the {{copyedit}} tag from 1175 articles. The backlog is still over 7500 articles, and extends back to the beginning of 2008! We really need your help to reduce it. Copyediting just a couple articles can qualify you for a barnstar. Serious copyeditors can win prestigious and exclusive rewards. See the event page for more information. And thanks for your consideration. mono 00:40, 12 June 2010 (UTC)

Homeschooling WikiProject

Remember me, your name "twin"? I noticed your note on your user page about trying to revive the Homeschooling WikiProject. I've never joined a WikiProject before, but I definitely think the homeschooling articles could use some work, and would like to help. So I thought I'd ask you for advice. How much effort does involvement in a WikiProject take if you're actually really committing to help out? I wouldn't want to join and then not really be able to contribute anything. That's why I've held off on joining one for so long. Thanks! Princess Lirin (talk) 02:47, 6 June 2010 (UTC)

Well, I'd say join and see how it goes. You can always depart the project. I'd say the effort varies from project to project; for instance, I have spent loads of time (recently 25-50% of my editing time) at WP:APPLE because I'm helping to revive it and all. The project has a large scope, with thousands of articles. It was in desperate need of attention and repair. So yea, there are many factors that contribute to how much you edit for the project. In general, join if you'd like to help out within the project's scope. It's hard to say how much effort you'd need, though. Airplaneman 02:56, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
Lovely talk page stalker, thanks! @Lirin - Your message absolutely made my day! I started trying to revive this project and there are only two of us working on it and the other user is mostly involved with a different WikiProject so it's been a very lonely project. For involvement, like Airplaneman said, it can really be on any level you want. Of course, it's pointless to join a project if you're not going to do anything, but any basic work on the pages in the project's category can constitute involvement. A basic participation in the maintenance of the project is good too (especially in this case!). WikiProject Homeschooling has many different departments, so you could just pick one to work on and keep your involvement strictly there. I participate fairly actively in two projects (now three) and a task force and I would say they only take up about half my editing time. Granted, it depends on the project. The Percy Jackson task force is highly active and perhaps requires the least hard work from me because there are other active members ready to take on projects. Whereas WikiProject Homeschooling is taking up a vast amount of my time right now as I try to get a handle on all of the things that need to be done to get it started again. Does that make sense? Sorry if it's tl;dr. I basically repeated what Airplaneman said! PrincessofLlyr royal court 04:39, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
ADD - not sure if you've seen, but the revival is discussed here. Improving the articles can always be done, but as far as the project goes, right now it's a waiting game until we see how many active members there are. PrincessofLlyr royal court 12:20, 6 June 2010 (UTC)
I'm interested in joining. I have been homeschooled. AirplanePro 03:47, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Great! The list of members is here. We would be glad to have you. I like your suggestion about working on the project page. I'll try to implement that. Thanks for your interest! PrincessofLlyr royal court 11:51, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks both for the helpful info! I've been trying to find out a bit more about WikiProjects before I signed up, but the Council's guide is mostly about making them, not joining them, and I can't find anything else. So I finally decided I'll have to just take the plunge. I've always been much more of a learning-by-research person than learning-by-doing, but I guess this one's going to have to be a bit of both. Please let me know where I should help out. Princess Lirin (talk) 04:08, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
I have moved my username to the list of active members. I am currently engaged in assessing the few unassessed articles of the WikiProject (this shouldn't take much time). AirplaneProRadioChecklist 01:13, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Already done. AirplaneProRadioChecklist 01:15, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Looking for adoption... big giant puss-n-boots eyes

Hello Princess! I've seen your edits in a few places and also saw your name listed on the adopter's board, so I thought I'd ask if you still have room in your orphanage! I have been an avid reader of Wikipedia for years, but it finally hit me about a week ago that it's time to give back to the site that gave me so much, so I "was bold" and jumped in. I think I've had a good first week, but I've made some missteps here and there and could use some guidance. Regardless whether you can adopt me or not, sincere thanks for all that you do for this site. (P.S. Eilonwy is great! Gurgi rocks. munchings-n-crunchings,...) -- φ OnePt618Talk φ 05:48, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

I'm kind of surprised that you found me so far down on the list! Let's see...~600 good edits within first week, shows clue about policies, asks with giant puss-n-boots eyes, and knows about Prydain Chronicles...how could I resist that? Certainly there is room for you! I definitely agree that you've had a good first week. As a bold newbie (reader or not) I would think it's pretty much inevitable that you would make some mistakes. So far you seem to be handling them well. At the moment I'm on for only a quick morning watchlist check, but when I log on and have a little time I will thoroughly look over your contributions and make some suggestions. In the meantime, if you have any questions or something specific you're interested in, feel free to tell me! About me as an adopter:
  • It being summer, my editing times and levels are very sporadic, but for the most part I will be around sometime every day.
  • I also have several very helpful talk page stalkers (Airplaneman, Brambleclawx, Jubileeclipman, and Mono are around most often) who may at times answer your questions or leave comments for you. I encourage this and on some occasions actually request it.
  • I will tell you up front that there are some questions for which I won't have an answer. In that case, I will try to point you to someone that does.
Welcome to the royal court of Prydain! PrincessofLlyr royal court 11:47, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

LOL, I didn't imply to give you a guilt trip on the ER talk page. I was just curious... And honestly had no idea you read that page.  :-D take your time with feedback... Life's busy enough that you don't need adoptees nipping at your ankles :)-- φ OnePt618Talk φ 02:28, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Jubilee, yes I've adopted him and I'm terribly behind. Real life was supposed to get better during the summer and it hasn't. He's top priority tomorrow. @OnePt, I know you weren't guilt-tripping me - I was guilt tripping myself! Honestly, you can ask for a review, but you probably won't hear anything I (or one of my talk page stalkers (Jubilee above)) can't tell you. Let me do my initial review and comments to you as an adoptee and then you can decide about a review. Sound good? PrincessofLlyr royal court 02:46, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

Editor review

Got a question. Do you think I am too inexperienced to work with the editor review backlog? Homework2 TalkWhat I do! 22:25, 7 June 2010 (UTC)

Talk page stalker opinion: if you haven't spent much time around RFA, then I'd hold off on reviewing people who are asking for RFA-like feedback. Otherwise, I think you're clear. It's OK not to touch up on everything; any reviewer is guaranteed to miss something in their review! So yea, I'd say it'd be fine, as any constructive advice is always better than none. Do you think I should sign into the ER? I've been pondering this ever since iFailed in RFA… Airplaneman 22:56, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Ok. Thanks Airman. I was wondering about getting a ER myself... Homework2 TalkWhat I do! 23:19, 7 June 2010 (UTC)
Airplaneman's been busy helping here! (Thanks!) Homework, no I don't think you're too inexperienced. Really, it's helpful for people to get any feedback. It's very discouraging to request a review and get nothing. Like Airman said, I would stay away from people looking for an RfA, but have at it with anyone else. Here are the things I generally look at:
  • start with user and talk page to get a feel for the editor and their experience.
  • proceed to contributions list and check through several of them, preferably different types. (for example, a csd tag, article improvement, talk post, etc.) I also look at the graph of the contribs to get a feel for which areas they work in most.
  • check edit summary usage. Small thing, but it's important.
  • Check any conflicts mentioned. Sometimes you'll have to do a little searching to find them.
  • then comment on all of those things. You can look through the reviews I've done and the archives for other reviewers' methods. I always try to post several positive things and to find at least one thing they can improve upon. Methodology again, but I try to start and end with positive things.
And really, it doesn't have to be long and detailed. Just post what you're comfortable with. It does take time though. I generally take about half an hour to post a review, sometimes longer. Also, never assume that the editor has watchlisted the review page. Leave them a notice that you've reviewed.
As for getting a review, it's a good idea. However, if you do it now you're both likely to get my review unless you specifically request from other people. I'm the only one that's been consistently doing any reviews recently. PrincessofLlyr royal court 00:38, 8 June 2010 (UTC)
I've noticed. I've been wondering too. AirplaneProRadioChecklist 23:40, 8 June 2010 (UTC)

Question

I have a question about wikibreak...Is it possible to block my account so that I wouldn't be able to edit during it? I have tried wikibreaks before and I just can't make it through them... Also, would such a block be a strike on my "wikipedia record"? Homework2 TalkWhat I do! 15:58, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

(Helpful?) talk page stalker here: I think the best way is to use willpower and make yourself not log on, however hard it may be… if that fails, try Wikipedia:WikiProject User scripts/Scripts/WikiBreak Enforcer. Note that you can still edit under an IP then. If you want to be blocked, yes, you can be, but yes, it will permanently be on your record until the end of Wikipedia (hopefully never, so yea, pretty much forever). Airplaneman 16:19, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Yeah, like he says, there is the wikibreak enforcer, which is best, outside of willpower. I can totally get the not doing wikibreaks thing...I'm bad at that. Jubilee is probably the best person to tell you about wikibreak enforcer - he used it not long ago. I wouldn't suggest an actual block. PrincessofLlyr royal court 16:21, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Alright then. I need a wikibreak. I don't get enough sleep according to my mom. @Airman: Tps are always helpful. Homework2 TalkWhat I do! 16:28, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Heh! You don't get enough sleep? Remember that I am in the UK but often edit until after you lot in the US are in bed... Anyway: the Enforcer is good but only works if you have JavaScript enabled (which means that you can actually bypass the script by disabling JavaScript and log in as normal). Also, as Airplaneman says, you can edit anonymously (as I did a couple of times on my "forced Wikibreak"). Having your account blocked is pretty extreme as blocks are reserved for serious breaches of WP:Wikiquette, persistent vandalism, and the like. See WP:Blocking policy. The only sure fire way to enforce a block on your own account is to scramble or forget your password! Don't do it!. Oh, you did already. I forgot... More useful devices, actually, are the site blocking utility and the parental controls found in such programs as Kaspersky Internet Security etc. There are simpler versions dedicated to site blocking and parental control be found online and in stores. You add http://en.wikipedia.org to the list of banned sites or whatever for as long as you want to stay off and then remove it from the list when you want to start again. You can even set the time limit or access time for sites with these programs. You could ask someone else to set the block and set the password so you can't cheat! Either that, or just unplug the router from the phone/cable/satellite... Hope that helps --Jubileeclipman 21:46, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
Oh yes, Jubilee never sleeps. I will attest to that! But bear in mind that Homework is a growing teenager - she needs to sleep! (Really, Jubilee, thanks for the great suggestions (for her). I was pretty sure you'd have a better idea than I, so glad you saw this!) PrincessofLlyr royal court 22:14, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
LOL! That's amazing: you were editing WP even before WP existed! WOW! And yeah: I need to got to bed now (but probably won't...) --Jubileeclipman 00:34, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
(talk page stalker) (from IRC) that is funny... actually WP was set up in Jan 2001-- for the record. :D Tommy2010 [message] 00:35, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Hello, Tommy! It's my stupid computer!!! I have no idea what is up with it. So far, it was just the timestamps. For instance, it will render this post, June 2010, as being eight years from "now". However, I totally did not think about that affecting the warnings. It gave me quite the shock! PrincessofLlyr royal court 01:34, 15 June 2010 (UTC)

Indexing (continued from BCx's talk)

OH! I get it now. The James U. Cross talkpage appears in the archive list at the top of this page! There must be a way to specify which pages to index or not to index (whichever is easier). I don't use bots much, I'm afraid so I have no idea what to do about this. I'd chat with the operator, Cobi. There might also be a bug Cobi needs to know about --Jubileeclipman 21:09, 14 June 2010 (UTC)

I think it has something to do with the "archiveprefix" in ClueBotIII's command box or whatever it is called at the top of the page. Airplaneman 22:01, 14 June 2010 (UTC)
I have no idea what indexing means (probably explains why I manually archive, instead of letting Cluebot do it). Brambleclawx 01:09, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
If you look at the box in top right of this page, you will see an index of the Princess' "archives". Cluebot thought the James U. Cross talkpage was part of the Princess' archives and so placed a link to it in that index. I.e. it "indexed" the page but never actually moved it. I don't entirely trust bots so I tend not to use them --Jubileeclipman 01:30, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Same here (about trusting bots), but it does normally make archiving easier. Distributing roll call notices though, that I did by hand! (and it ridiculously inflated my user talk percentage. sigh) PrincessofLlyr royal court 01:36, 15 June 2010 (UTC)
Hm... good point. Come time when we do a role call for WP:WARRIORS, we might need to find a bot to do it, or split it up so we all alert a few people... Brambleclawx 22:05, 16 June 2010 (UTC)
Splitting it up sounds like a good idea (most simple and efficient, anyways). Airplaneman 02:17, 17 June 2010 (UTC)
I'm good with that. @Jubilee, when you see this, I just wanted to say that you are a really good adopter (from my observation). Is MeisMyself your first adoptee? (I'm too tired to search through your userspace, contribs, etc. and answer my own question). PrincessofLlyr royal court 00:38, 18 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks. Yes she is. You seem to be dong very well, too! Hereforhomework seems to be coming on in leaps and bound with your input. I think I copied the tag as you mentioned, but if even if it didn't It will be gone soon anyway. Thanks again! --Dallezam (talk) 03:04, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

(edit conflict)(talk page stalker) @Dallezam: just to fill you in for future reference just in case you haven't seen this already, db-author falls under WP:CSD#G7. It'd be a good idea to read all of the criteria. You can also contest the PROD by removing it. Happy editing, Airplaneman 03:06, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Thanks Airplaneman, but he's created as a subpage, so the article's no longer necessary. PrincessofLlyr royal court 03:12, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Re: From Dj black to DJ Black

Thank you. I worked hard on it :) Sure if you could move it to DJ Black instead of Dj black that would be great. Thanks. Also I'll try and find more articles Amadorosanchez522 (talk)—Preceding unsigned comment added by Amadorosanchez522 (talkcontribs) 17:44, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

checkY Done! (for those looking at logs and curious, Courcelles moved it at my request as page was protected from creation) PrincessofLlyr royal court 18:06, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Hi, do you know why the picture isn't there anymore?Amadorosanchez522(talk)—Preceding unsigned —Preceding undated comment added 18:56, 19 June 2010 (UTC).

It seems that it was deleted due to a copyright violation as seen here. Set Sail For The Seven Seas 289° 22' 45" NET 19:17, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

My point here was that the topic is a valid topic for Wikipedia, although obesity in cats may be a more formal sounding title. It is very likely that there are veterinary and popular magazine writings on this topic. The content was 99% copied and irrelevant, but there was a small effort made to introduce new material. Graeme Bartlett (talk) 06:33, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for the explanation. PrincessofLlyr royal court 19:06, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Feline obesity would seem to be the most likely term used by vets and animal health experts. Most of the info would probably fit into either obesity in pets or cat, I would imagine. I would try to expand obesity in pets first, though, as cat is pretty comprehensive as it stands --Jubileeclipman 19:36, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

RfA

Thank you very much for your contribution to my Rfa. I have made a comment about it at User talk:JamesBWatson#Your Request for Adminship which you are, of course, very welcome to read if you wish to. JamesBWatson (talk) 14:32, 21 June 2010 (UTC)

Recruitment ideas

I notice that you and most of your TPSes are involved in recruitment drives at the moment. I wonder if you (all) could give me some tips on recruiting members to Wikipedia:WikiProject Contemporary music of which I am the coordinator. At the moment, there are only two editors that regularly comment over at the talkpage, viz Deskford and me, though there are a few other editors who work on category:WikiProject Contemporary music articles behind the scenes. What we need are editors that can be motivated to work on these articles which mainly cover the period described in Contemporary classical music and 21st-century classical music. Obviously, this is a topic that will only interest a small handful of editors but how do we find then motivate those editors to work on these articles? Major composers such as James MacMillan and Lou Harrison either have articles that need major expansion and cleanup or, like Lyell Cresswell, have no article at all! OTOH, we have borderline cases such as Jesper Nordin and Ludmila Yurina who we keep getting bogged down with and debating for days on end before saying "but what about the major composers...?" Worse still, we keep getting the blatant self-promos like Kobi Arad (or is it Kobi Alad or Yaakob Arad or perhaps Kobi arad or...) that just won't stop pushing... Any ideas how to get people interested in such a specialist field of interest? --Jubileeclipman 01:11, 20 June 2010 (UTC)

It's really hard to revive a project (as I'm finding out). One of the easiest ways is to keep an eye out for users who are interested in music. Hyacinth is one I remember seeing on the talk pages of several of your articles that I assessed (forgive me, I was thinking of music theory. you could invite herhim anyway!). Have you petitioned WikiProject Music or related projects on their talk pages? Post personalized messages to active contributors of said projects, inviting them to join yours. Another idea would be a cleanup drive similar to what GOCE is doing right now, offering major rewards for expansion. Also, that could be (possibly) accomplished by posting at the WP:reward board, although that is unlikely to bring you any major contributors. Have you posted something in the signpost? Not sure how many people notice, but it's worth a shot. I blatantly advertised my need for new members in WikiProject Homeschooling on my user page, which probably drew at least one, possibly two new members. Those are my ideas for now. I'll post more as I think of them. Note that I do not guarantee any of said ideas actually working. PrincessofLlyr royal court 01:50, 20 June 2010 (UTC) Add:When was the last time you had a roll call? That pokes the current participants, and puts your project out for everyone looking at the talk pages of those users to see. Do you have invite and welcome templates? That sometimes makes people more likely to invite other users. Also, stress the need (assuming it is) for all types of contributors, not just specialists in the field. Other editors can add a lot to a project even if they aren't an expert on the subject, freeing the experts for expansion work. PrincessofLlyr royal court 02:02, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Hyacinth (he, BTW...) is a free spirit... Nuff said. Thanks for the other ideas, though. I'll have a look at this tomorrow --Jubileeclipman 02:05, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Ah, okay. Yeah, somehow hyacinth just strikes me as a girl's name. Oh well. That's what I get for assuming genders! PrincessofLlyr royal court 02:12, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
So did I: see here, then here and here for a full explanation --Jubileeclipman 19:50, 20 June 2010 (UTC)
Your notice drew me. Oh yeah, and Hyacinth does sound like a girl's name (begging your pardon, of course, Hyacinth). AirplaneProRadioChecklist 00:39, 23 June 2010 (UTC)

Wikibreak comments

I will be on wikibreak until 6/27.

  • Urgent queries or requests for help should probably be taken elsewhere.
    • If you have questions about WikiProject Homeschooling, the roll call will end soon after I return. Suggestions for work can be found on the project's talk page.
  • If you have any questions for me, or wish to continue an archived discussion, start a new section to do so and I will take care of it when I get back.
  • To my adoptees: Feel free to post questions here; I will deal with them as soon as I come back, but more likely, my talk page stalkers will be able to answer faster.
  • To my talk page stalkers: As always, feel free to talk here while I'm gone, but it comes at a price - watch my adoptees!

PrincessofLlyr royal court 16:01, 19 June 2010 (UTC)

Or we don't talk here and don't watch your adoptees!  :) Have a well earned break: we will field any questions and watch your adoptees. Any articles to watch? --Jubileeclipman 17:08, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
I'm still around today, and maybe a little tomorrow, but Monday forward I will not be on at all. Articles: Dj black and the author's talk. (I'm thinking it should be moved, but thought I would tell the author about it first as a courtesy. If they don't respond within a day or two, feel free to move). I think that's about it. You could keep an eye on TypewriterGirl too. She requested adoption from me, but still hasn't responded to my message on her talk. If she replies with something general, that's fine, but if she has any urgent questions, feel free to answer those. Thanks! PrincessofLlyr royal court 17:24, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
OK. I cleaned up DJ Black a little and have requested clarification and sourcing for some claims. TypewriterGirl looks perfect for WikiProject Home schooling... --Jubileeclipman 21:33, 19 June 2010 (UTC)
Then give her an invite. AirplaneProRadioChecklist 00:49, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

She is invited. I am now back from my wikibreak and will be slowly jumping back in. Tps help always welcome. An update on news here would be nice too. See y'all around. PrincessofLlyr royal court 23:48, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

A large amount of text were duplicated in revision 356735609 and the anon edits in later revisions were only trying to help by removing that. Anyway, since you're on a wikibreak I went ahead and rv'd your rvs. --Kakurady (talk) 01:05, 22 June 2010 (UTC)

Thanks for pointing that out. Entirely my fault for not actually looking into the article. Thanks! PrincessofLlyr royal court 23:48, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Tracker Task Force

Actually, I've never read it and I'm pretty highly involved with a bunch of other projects at the moment. However, if you want to notify me when you draft the article, I'll be glad to look over it, copy-edit, etc. Good luck! PrincessofLlyr royal court 23:48, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Question

Hello! I was wondering how you stuck all your userboxes on the side of your user page. Mine are all over the place. Thanks! --Glimmer721 (talk) 15:04, 26 June 2010 (UTC) ...I was also wondering if you can adopt me because I REALLY need help!! --Glimmer721 (talk) 15:22, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Well if you don't mind a talk page stalker's advice, put {{Userboxtop|Userboxes}} on the top of your page and put your userboxes below and {{Userboxbottom}} under your last userbox. It makes this:

Derild4921 15:55, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

All right, I've got that done. Thanks!! Okay, since I basically created th articles Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark, I've been trying to upload a picture. It's the illustrations on the cover of the UK editions...what do I need to type in in terms of licensing? --Glimmer721 (talk) 22:31, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

(talk page stalker)File:HPBOOK.jpg is basically what you're trying to do right? If so upload, then copy the coding over, replacing the fields with proper information about the photo, and fair use rationale for the article you're using it in. Brambleclawx 22:36, 26 June 2010 (UTC)
Looks like that answered your questions! Yes, I would be glad to adopt you. I think you've been doing great work with the articles from that series (Hunger Games, etc. What is it actually?). I'm just trying to catch up right now, so I'll get back to you about the details of the adoption in the next few days. PrincessofLlyr royal court 23:48, 26 June 2010 (UTC)

Okay, thanks!! Let me know about the adoption thing--I just sort of discovered that today, so I don't know how it works. And...the picture is sort of copied off the Scolastic UK website, but it's the same as what's on the cover. I'll see if I can upload it. --Glimmer721 (talk) 02:05, 27 June 2010 (UTC)

Adoption

Okay, that all sounds fine!! Thanks!! --Glimmer721 (talk) 21:20, 28 June 2010 (UTC)
