Arthur Pycroft[edit]
Hi there, here's something where you may be able to help. I've written a bio for Arthur Pycroft (1875–1971) and in 1935–36, he was president of the Auckland Institute at Auckland Museum. Therefore, Auckland Museum would hold contemporary photos that by now are out of copyright and could be used in the article. Those photos aren't online, though. There's a book chapter of Contributions to the History of Australasian Ornithology online and figure 20 in chapter 2 has a photo of him sourced as Auckland Museum, which shows Pycroft in middle age (it says "taken soon after WWII but I'd say he looks more like 50 in that photo, which would make this a photo from the 1920s). Could you possibly do some digging and upload anything that ought to be freely licensed to Commons? Schwede66 19:32, 22 January 2021 (UTC)

Auckland edit-a-thon on performing arts 14 Aug[edit]

- @Pakoire I'd recommend going with [[Wikipedia:Meetup/Auckland 12|Auckland 12, although it's up to you! As long as it's linked in the . There were a choice of event titles with ours (we could have gone with the Auckland title, or the Women in Red title), but decided the location title was better suited since it was invisioned as an in-person event. - ほとのとの記事では[個人名][家族名]が適切（明治時代以前は[家族名][個人名]）
- 英語圏で使うみんな分かる名前があれば、このほうがいい（特にニュースや論文などの二次資料）

Waitakere City to West Auckland, New Zealand[edit]
Kia ora, just wanted to follow up with you as a few of your changes have come up in my watchlist recently because I have a lot of football related articles in it. I see you have been changing Waitakere City to West Auckland and while in a lot of cases that is fine. I do question them being changed when it relates to when the time of that article might be relevant. Waitakere City was correct from 1989 to 2010 so changes like in the article 2013 Chatham Cup the competition was played when it was called Waitakere City. In the OFC Champions League with the link in that one being about a game played during the 2007–08 season, then it was also called Waitakere City. They still link to a valid article for people to read, and it was the correct link for that time. - I am so glad you are noticing her recent album/songs pages. She has been getting a bit more coverage on English news sites and magazines such as Billboard recently which has been helpful in creating some of the articles such as "Summer Magic" and Kansha!!!!! - Thank You for 20 Years New and Best. Creating the article for her most recent single "Aldebaran" was a bit tough for me but it was so worth it in the end. Someone even translated it so now it is on the Japanese Wikipedia as well, which was pretty cool. Categories for 'watersheds'[edit]
Kia ora. I see you created several categories for 'watersheds' as subcats of Category:Drainage basins of New Zealand. Were you aware that 'watershed' means a drainage basin only in North America, and that in NZ and the rest of the world it means a drainage divide? There are several terms that would be much more appropriate for NZ – 'catchment', 'drainage basin', 'river basins' or just 'basin'. A variety of these terms are used for subcats at Category:Drainage basins of the United Kingdom. Note also that most of these terms do not need to be plural when referring to the catchment or basin of a single harbour or gulf, e.g. Category:Poole Harbour catchment. 'River basins' would be an exception that needs to be plural (unless referring to a single river basin, of course).
I would find any of these other terms acceptable. If picking a preference, I would go with 'catchment', which seems common in NZ, and is also used most frequently in the aforementioned UK category. I noticed that your recent edit to St George's Street railway station added a link to an image on an external website or on your computer, or to a file name that does not exist on Wikipedia's server. For technical and policy reasons it is not possible to use images from external sources on Wikipedia. Most images you find on the internet are copyrighted and cannot be used on Wikipedia, or their use is subject to certain restrictions. If the image meets Wikipedia's image use policy, consider uploading it to Wikipedia yourself or request that someone else upload it. See the image tutorial to learn about wiki syntax used for images. - @Sumanuil: Kia ora Sumanuil, this is a technical issue. I've replaced the local en.wikipedia image with a freely available one on Wiki Commons, but I'd accidentally given both files the same name. I'm in the process of moving the old image. --Prosperosity (talk) 04:06, 6 April 2023 (UTC)

However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).
