Hi, just wanted to say thanks for doing the translation; I am the person who requested it. I proofread it a bit and added some internal notes about things that were unclear - it would be great if you could check them and help clarify. Thanks again Chubbles 23:23, 24 September 2007 (UTC)

Hi, at czech wiki was Vlasta Redl marked as copyvio [1]. Sorry, but I have to mark you translation as copyvio too.--PaD cs:✉ 10:10, 20 November 2007 (UTC)

Please be sure to follow the posting instructions, including the specific instructions that are visible in the headers of pages such as NCH. I moved your question at NCH to the bottom of the page, where it belongs. Adrian M. H. 15:16, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. I misread the instructions, I'll be more careful in the future. Thank you for moving my question.--Puchiko 15:24, 27 September 2007 (UTC)

Your recent edits

Hi, there. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. On many keyboards, the tilde is entered by holding the Shift key, and pressing the key with the tilde pictured. You may also click on the signature button located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your name and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when. Thank you! --SineBot 15:50, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

I did sign, but you did not notice. Anyways, I think I'm opting out 'cause you don't seem to recognise my signature. Puchiko (talk contribs  email) 16:02, 12 October 2007 (UTC)

Dumbledore vote

Hi. All the arguing over where we should discuss Dumbledore's sexual orientation is proving useless. We need to work out just who is in favour of what and a vote seems the only way to go about it. I'm asking for your opinion since you had a say in the general argument. Thank you. asyndeton 10:53, 24 October 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism complaint

Vandalism? You are a Czech and you help these sauerkraut-eating Germanic scum! You should know better! How often have you met one of these ugly incestious Germans? Remember what Mother Mary said, all Germans are dirty animal-like barbarians! Poland rules! --Essential Poland 19:57, 29 October 2007 (UTC)

Main Page comment (Merkin picture)

I just saw your comment on the Main Page about the Merkin picture, especially this bit here "We don't have to come here, and defend our policies if we don't want to (while it is fun to read some of the comments)." I have raised this issue here to see if others think this attitude is acceptable. I'm notifying you of this, so you can defend your comments if you want to. Sorry if this comes as a shock, but I don't think that the Main Page should be used to shock people and stir things up. Carcharoth 16:46, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Carcharoth, I think you're overreacting. The comment is extremely mild and not directed at anyone in particular. It's a legitimate opinon, who's insulted or offended by it? Videmus Omnia Talk 16:58, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
I was. I respect the opinions of readers who find their way to the talk page (while recognising that some may be trolls). Carcharoth 18:37, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
I'm sorry. My comment was unthoughtful, and unclear (I didn't consider the readers' anger funny, it was the responses to it). I wrote my opinion without thinking about its possible negative impacts, and in frustration. I hope I didn't offend anyone, and am sorry. Puchiko (Talk-email) 17:58, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Thanks for clearing that up and apologising. It was less your comment in particular, than a general trend that I've seen developing. I apologise that it was your comment I reacted to. Carcharoth 18:37, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
I don't think Puchiko's comment was over-the-top. It was just a gut reaction, which we've all had. Since it wasn't directly targeting a specific editor, I feel it's no harm done. freshacconcispeaktome 18:34, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
But let's try and keep that sort of reaction toned down a bit, yes? More people read talk pages than comment on them, so we should always be careful what we say. Carcharoth 18:37, 4 November 2007 (UTC)
Agreed, but maybe you should consider removing the public admonishment on the main page talk page and we can all leave it at that. Cheers. freshacconcispeaktome 18:51, 4 November 2007 (UTC)

Your Recent Reversion of Editing of My User Page

Hi,

Sorry to cause a problem; that was not my intention. I am a professor at the University of Manitoba, and I was constructing a demonstration for my students of the HTML codes for citing academic references in a Wikipedia article. I used the cyrillic script instead of Roman because I thought it would be less distracting to use as a "space filler".

It looks, though, like I may have forgotten to sign in. I have done so now. May I proceed with what I was doing? I can use other "filler script" (e.g. by writing "blah blah blah..." to complete the demo lesson). I can also switch to another Wiki if you prefer, but some of the other Wikis use slightly different coding schemes, which is why I prefer to work at Wikipedia. I was attempting to use my own user page as a sort of "private sandbox" for creating information to help my students, who will be editing and analyzing various Wikipedia articles.

Please advise... No harm was intended. (While waiting for a reply, I have restored part of my original material, but shortened and simplified it, and omitted any use of cyrllic script.)

Hey, do you have any references as to who are the elected officials? If so, we can put them in the article and cut down on the nonsense. --NeilN 17:22, 7 November 2007 (UTC)

I just wanted to say a quick thank you for your translation of this page into English. It is appreciated. — RJH (talk) 19:55, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

You're very welcome. Puchiko (Talk-email) 21:09, 14 November 2007 (UTC)

Re your query, I've found with similar items that if you add the translation, a generic speedy tag such as {{db|reason}} (+ summary of reason) and a note in the edit summary also pointing out that it's a one-line foreign lang definition of something already dealt with in an existing article, the speedy-admins will generally delete without further difficulty. If for some reason this doesn't work, then it's easier to PROD it rather than going through the hurdles of AfD. HeartofaDog (talk) 13:23, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Thanks. I did so, and it was deleted within seconds. Kudos to Wikipedia administrators! Puchiko (Talk-email) 14:27, 18 November 2007 (UTC)
Glad it worked! HeartofaDog (talk) 15:50, 18 November 2007 (UTC)

Marie Šťastná

Thank you for starting the article Marie Šťastná. I do not think that the Marie Šťastná mentioned at the Czech wikipedia (cs:Marie Šťastná) is the same as the one who teaches at the University of Ostrava ([2]). The professor at the University of Ostrava looks to be closer to 40, and does not closely resemble the poet. The Czech wikipedia does not seem to mention that she is the same person either. − Twas Now ( talkcontribse-mail ) 06:47, 19 November 2007 (UTC)

I proofread the article. It looks good. Merry Christmas. − Twas Now ( talkcontribse-mail ) 00:31, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Vandalism

Hello, I am a user on the EHT High Schools server in Egg Harbor Township, New Jersey, USA. The shared account was recently blocked from editing, and this isn't to complain. It is actually to share my disgust for vandalizers. I can't believe anyone would be such an idiot as to think that they can charge in and start doing stupid stuff like that. Just know that I am a Wiki-friend and from now on I will be logging into my account (Hnismybff16) to edit anything that needs to be edited. Thank you for keeping our Wikipedia as correct as you can make it. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Hnismybff16 (talkcontribs) 14:03, 29 November 2007 (UTC)

Welcome to the Esperanto task force!

Thank you for joining the Esperanto task force! I have already tagged and assessed (to the best of my ability) all of the articles in Category:Esperanto (feel free to assess them yourself and change the rankings as you see appropriate). However, there is a problem with the template (Template:WP conlangs): it does not automatically file articles into "Category:Esperanto task force articles" and its subcategories. I am sure this is because of a problem with the source coding, which is simply a modified version of an identically-functioning tag from WikiProject Football/USA and Canada task force. I am not familiar enough with the coding to resolve this problem myself, and I would greatly appreciate help in fixing it. Thanks! TFCforever (talk) 03:58, 8 December 2007 (UTC)

Rotard has been speedy deleted

Greetings! Thank you for nominating Rotard for AfD. I have reviewed the article and noted that it was on substantially the same subject as the prior AfD. Accordingly, it is eligible for speedy deletion under criterion G4, reposting of material previously deleted by AfD (or TfD, MfD, etc.). If you encounter such articles in the future that were deleted in a previous AfD (but not because of an expired prod or a speedy deletion for some other criterion), don't forget that you have the {{db-repost}} template available to request speedy deletion, instead of going through the AfD process. Again, thank you for the report, and happy editing! —C.Fred (talk) 16:22, 16 December 2007 (UTC)

Hey Puchiko

About your welcoming of new users... have you considered using a different template such as {{welcomeh}} (or {{welcomeg}}, which is the same without the section heading)? The one you're using at the moment (as seen here) has less links and features, but uses more code which takes up confusing space on the user's talk page. Just a consideration, you don't have to change if you don't want to. I could also provide you with a modified version of the new user welcome script that adds a tab to everyone's talk page (next to History and Move) called Welcome - when you click it it automatically adds a template of your choosing, fills in your edit summary and saves the page. You can modify it to use any welcome template you like. Seeya. —Vanderdeckenξφ 13:18, 24 December 2007 (UTC)

"Speedily deleted as a copyright violation. Puchiko (Talk-email) 13:25, 28 December 2007 (UTC)"

Puchiko, I read this article last night, and realized it was really just a generic description of a condominium. Perhaps a commerical plug, but I'm just speculating on that. Wasn't clear if the wikimapia content, itself, was originally from a .com website, but it looked it. I intended to do some Thai language searching and get to the bottom of that. But, then I slept on it, and realized I was overdoing it. It wasn't an encyclopedic entry in any case, so it didn't matter if it was copyrighted or not. I sat down now to recommend deleting it. In any event, you beat me to that. - Thaimoss (talk) 14:52, 28 December 2007 (UTC)

Rowland Flat

Re: Rowland Flat article. Why is it considered vandalism to make a statement that a man is gay? These two people were gay lovers, there is nothing wrong with that. There is nothing wrong with making a statement that a man is gay. Please do not warn me for something so insidious as this again. Please revert my edit as well. Thank you. 77.96.240.178 (talk) 11:27, 20 January 2008 (UTC)
