Hi, QuickDraw. Nice job on Lassen Volcanic National Park. I added the infobox to the article recently and have placed some images recently at Commons:Lassen Volcanic National Park.

Welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you have a pleasant experience as an editor. If you want, you can drop us a note at Wikipedia:New user log to introduce yourself. Before you start doing a lot of editing, you might want to take the Tutorial. It gives a lot of basic info you'll want to get you oriented on Wikipedia.

You can sign your name on talk pages by using three tildes (" ~~~ ") for your username and four (" ~~~~ ") for your username and a timestamp, but obviously you know that.

Other good links include the manual of style. The numbers and dates section has some guidance on when to link dates and when to leave them unlinked. My memory is that approximate years and most decades should not be linked.

If you have other questions about the project, try Wikipedia:Help or add a question to the Help desk. Also, you can leave a message on my talk page. I've been editing since August, so I can answer easy questions.

Happy editing, Walter Siegmund (talk) 05:35, 28 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Lassen Volcanic National Park[edit]

Thanks for the welcome Walter. I do have some homework to do to become familiar with the style used here. Thanks for the tips on helpful links. I have breezed through some of them, but there is a lot of info. Please feel free to correct the links to the dates I added.

Lassen Park is one of my favorite places. I used to live about 50 miles from the park. It is just a fantastic place in my opinion. Again, thanks for the welcome and offering info on some areas of interest to check out. I will be exploring as I have time. QuickDraw 05:14, 30 November 2005 (UTC)[reply]

It is a pleasure to have another editor that shares my some of my interests. User:MONGO and User:Hike395 are two others that you will likely meet before long. BTW, my reading of the WP:MOS is that August 9, 1916 should be linked in Lassen Volcanic National Park so that date preferences will work. Did you interpret it differently? The rest of my reply is on my talk page. Best wishes, Walter Siegmund (talk) 04:36, 2 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Chainsaw and logging[edit]

Greeting QuickDraw, maybe you should just edit chainsaw as you see fit, makes it simpler to see what you mean. Also, I have been picking away at logging Pehaps you can help, Thanks KAM 15:07, 4 December 2005 (UTC)[reply]

Hi KAM, I think you are right. We could debate this on and on. I saw your edits at Logging. I definitely want to help with editing the article and will. Just have to work it in around the day job, etc. I've only been on Wikipedia about 3 weeks and I found many areas of interest that I want to add to or edit, but I see it is going to take some time.
