To get some practice editing you can use a sandbox. You can create your own private sandbox for use any time. Perfect for working on bigger projects. Then for easy access in the future, you can put {{My sandbox}} on your user page. By the way, seeing as you haven't created a user page yet, simply click here to start it.

Your username[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "RacaOfficial", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because user of the word "official" implies that you are here in an official capacity. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing this form, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. -- Diannaa (talk) 00:30, 18 September 2015 (UTC)[reply]

My apologies, but I'm not quite sure I understand. I recently began making music of my own and in most places, including Wikipedia, "Raca" itself (the alias I have chosen) is taken. If a change is deemed necessary, I would be more than happy to comply, but even after reading the username policy it did not appear to be in violation. However, it is quite clear that you understand Wikipedia on a far deeper level than myself. Thank you for pointing this out. -- RacaOfficial (talk) 02:13, 6 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Forgive me if I seem to be pestering you, however I would just like to make sure whether or not I am in the clear regarding my username. As stated before, I would gladly comply in changing my username if you find that it is still necessary after my explanation, but would rather keep my current name if possible. Thank you. -- RacaOfficial (talk) 17:19, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
Hey, me again. I wasn't sure if you knew this, so I'll tell you just to be safe. Wikipedia talk pages are a bit antiquated in that you have to actually go to their talk page to respond, or else they won't be notified. Some users keep people who they recently messaged on their watchlist (which is why I saw this), so sometimes they'll see your response on your page. There is a WP:Talkback feature that can help with the process, if you're interested.
As far as the username goes, I think the concern was that you might be claiming to the the "official" account of some organization. However, since you have made it clear that Raca is an individual (you) and not an organization, I think you should be fine. That's just my interpretation of the policy though. It might still be best to leave a talkback on User:Diannaa's talk page so that they can see your question here.—Hermionedidallthework (talk) 00:33, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I didn't realize that, I'm still really new to all of this. I really do appreciate yourself and Diannaa being so welcoming and helpful. -- RacaOfficial (talk) 01:28, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
HiRacaOfficial. Sorry for the delay in responding. (Lots of users add every page they edit to their watch-list, but I am not one of them!) Your explanation of the username is adequate and there's no reason you can't keep using it. Regards, -- Diannaa (talk) 00:46, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I appreciate the help, and like I said to Hermionedidallthework, I didn't realize that pages needed to be placed on a watchlist for another user to get notifications otherwise I wouldn't have been as concerned about the delay. Wikipedia is more of a learning experience for me, after all. Thanks again! -- RacaOfficial (talk) 01:28, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
There's several ways a user could be notified of your post: placing the page on their watchlist; having their username wikilinked on a talk page; or being pinged via a template: {{Ping}}. I am going to add some useful links to the top of this page so you can explore and find out more about how to edit Wikipedia effectively. -- Diannaa (talk) 01:32, 17 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Savant (musician)[edit]

Hey, it looks like you made a constructive edit to Savant (musician), but I don't think that the way you added the infobox image is going to work. Please see Help:Infobox picture to see how to insert infobox images, and keep the WP:Image use policy in mind. Your changes are still pending review, but if you either remove the image you inserted or find an image that meets policy, I don't see any reason the changes won't be approved. Thanks! —Hermionedidallthework (talk) 16:35, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, I figured out how to accept your changes and remove the image at the same time (I'm new to reviewing pending changes). Just thought I'd let you know. —Hermionedidallthework (talk) 16:41, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I actually meant to remove the attempted image for that very reason, but must have missed it. Glad it was figured out, though! --RacaOfficial (talk) 16:43, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
No problem. Thanks for your edits! —Hermionedidallthework (talk) 16:50, 16 October 2015 (UTC)[reply]
