Welcome!

[edit]

Hello, Rainbouw19, and welcome to Wikipedia! I hope you like the place and decide to stay. Unfortunately, one or more of the pages you created, such as Time Machine (video game), may not conform to some of Wikipedia's content policies and may not be retained. In short, the topic of an article must be notable and have already been the subject of publication by reliable and independent sources.

Please review Your first article for an overview of the article creation process. The Article Wizard is available to help you create an article, where it will be reviewed and considered for publication. For information on how to request a new article that can be created by someone else, see Requested articles. If you are stuck, come to the Teahouse, where experienced Wikipedians can help you through the processes.

New to Wikipedia? Please consider taking a look at the our introductory tutorial or reviewing the contributing to Wikipedia page to learn the basics about editing. Below are a few other good pages about article creation.

COI and your edits

[edit]

Just because you disclose your COI on your userpage does not entitle you to disrupt this project. Your draft about Mevlüt Dinç was overly promotional, and I deleted it per WP:G11. The stub articles you created about games developed by Dinç were unsourced nothings. Generously, I moved them to draft space. Consider this your only warning. Do not create promotional pages. Do not move drafts to article space on your own. You must use WP:AFC. Finally, any future edits you make must be encyclopedic and demonstrate competence. If you fail in any of these things, you risk being blocked.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:07, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

[below moved from my Talk page.--Bbb23 (talk) 12:56, 7 August 2021 (UTC)][reply]
Hello, thanks for the warning. I understand the removal of the game articles I created, I thought they would be drafts, I intended to fill them when I realized the pages are created. About the main article I am working on, Mev is a Bafta member for his contributions to the gaming industry and of the most respected figures in gaming industry. I will be continuing to create/edit his draft page. If I don't, or if I get banned, there will be hundreds flooding in to do it anyway because his book is just out. I don't mean to.. well, I mean to ask for your guidance and request that you do not delete the DRAFT Mev Dinc. Is that OK? Is there a way I can have the deleted work back? I did not mean to publish it before getting several approvals, I was only working on an early draft and learning Wikipedia. May I go on working on it? I understand the other page deletions, sorry, I did not think they would just get published without a draft stage. I am new here.
Okay, I restored the Dinc draft for you. Pay attention to the editors who review the draft; they are far more experienced than you. A couple of procedural things. It's usually a good idea to keep Talk page conversations in one place, which is why I moved your comments from my Talk page to here. Also, please learn to WP:SIGN your posts in discussions.--Bbb23 (talk) 13:02, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you, got it. I will prep more and continue. I figured the columns and the tildes, thanks. Rainbouw19 (talk) 13:26, 7 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Hello Bbb23, I posted the current draft for review.Rainbouw19 (talk) 17:53, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Mev Dinc

[edit]

To me, the draft Draft:Mev Dinc looks OK. However, I am not the one who reviewed the draft when it was last submitted, so I can't say whether it will be published or not. But I think it can be submitted for review again anyway. JIP | Talk 18:33, 18 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jon Dean requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a real person or group of people that does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. ×Elvorixtalk 19:13, 19 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

I made a lousy start. Sorry. I will finish off Mev first, then go about a proper page for Jon Dean.

File:Mev dinc.jpg

[edit]

I notice you've uploaded File:Mev dinc.jpg to Commons saying that the photo is your "own work". Just to check the rights there: is this correct, that you took the photo yourself, or otherwise hold the rights to it? Or are you reusing a photo from elsewhere on the internet? That can be okay, but it'll need explicit permission from the copyright holder. --Lord Belbury (talk) 15:28, 25 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

It is not my own work (Sorry I was new to Wikipedia, and just about a month old now , will read more about photo citing now). But after reading his book I contacted him and have is consent to work on wiki page, photos & media. This is one of the photos taken by his friends on a phone and forwarded to him. To be honest, the quality is bad and I have found much better candidates. Would it be fine to keep this for a while, and I'll try get a better referenced and good quality picture of him? Rainbouw19 (talk) 06:57, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]
Okay, I'll flag it on Commons as lacking permission, which will give you appropriate guidance for how to confirm that permission and a deadline of a week to provide that. (If it takes longer, you can just reupload when you've got permission.) It does need Mev to say that he's fine with that image being put out under a CC-Attribution licence, and that the friend who took the photo wouldn't object to this, which he may not have explicitly said when approving your working on his wiki biography. --Lord Belbury (talk) 11:12, 26 August 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Dear Lord Belbury, I have met Mev personally today and taken a new picture, I just uploaded it and mentioned "This picture was taken by me, today, I met Mev and he granted permission to use this photo on Wikipedia. I would appreciate help for choosing what copyright category it would fall into." Here is the link [1]. Does it look right? . I will try delete the old file.
