Range and Direction Finding (RDF)[edit]

I don't see what this new article adds to the information already at History of radar. "Range and Direction Finding" was just a code name for the airforce project that became RADAR; why does it need a separate article written about it? I suggest it would be better moved to Range and Direction Finding as a redirect to History of radar. Fences&Windows 23:25, 8 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

From the author: In many existing web pages (Wikipedia and others), there are references to the early British 'radar' systems being called RDF. With no further explanation, most readers would automatically think that this was for Radio Direction Finding. I am trying to provide a place that could be reached easily that corrects this. History of radar[edit]

The article is at 221,708 bytes (and counting?). It looks like a good article. Have you considered splitting some of the sections off to create other articles? Redlinks[edit]

I don't understand why you delinked Russian Physical and Chemical Society at Alexander Stepanovich Popov so I have restored it. It is perfectly ok to have redlinks in articles, it means we think that an article ought to be written at that title some time in the future. Henry Earl Singleton[edit]

The existing (prior to 13 June 2011) article on Henry Earl Singleton contained far too many factual errors, incorrect information, general omissions, and missing references to be corrected by the normal process. I have, therefore, prepared and inserted a totally new article. Dr. Singleton was one of the most notable Americans of the 20th century, but none of the existing material conveys this fact. 22:45, 13 June 2011 (UTC)

The page is now correctly listed at WP:RM which you incorrectly attempted to do. I suspect that the page may have some issues that will need to be addressed based on the comments so far concerning your move request. Wolfgang Martini[edit]

Hello Raymond C. Watson, i'd found the a.m. article created by you and tried a translation to the german WP. Later on i found Wolfgang Martini been mentioned within the Neue Deutsche Biographie (here or there), which is regarded as reliable within community of german WP authors, many german WP biographies rely on it. The NDB's author describes Martini's after-war-career as an employee of C. Lorenz, not mentioning the fact, that you'd described in your article as Martini returned to high positions with the new Air Force in 1956, and later with NATO. So i would like to ask you, where you found his Luftwaffe or NATO-service mentioned, which doesn't show up in the NDB-article? By the way, he would have started his new military career aged about 65 years, which i wouldn't regard as impossible, but not too probable. --MachtaUnix (talk) 17:16, 19 May 2012 (UTC)[reply]
