A barnstar for you!

The Writer's Barnstar
Thank you for expanding and contributing to so many k-pop related articles, especially those on BTS songs! I believe your work does a great job helping readers learn more about k-pop. Take care and keep up the awesome work! Blue Adventure (talk) 04:34, 26 November 2020 (UTC)
Blue Adventure, thank you so much! This means a lot. :) --Ashleyyoursmile! 06:10, 26 November 2020 (UTC)

Be album archive

Heads up. The archive is from July. That's why I removed it. EN-JungwonTalk 11:26, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

EN-Jungwon, I'm sorry for not noticing that, I thought maybe you reverted it by mistake. Please go ahead and undo it. :) --Ashleyyoursmile! 11:27, 1 December 2020 (UTC)

Dynamite for GA

I saw that you had nominated Blue & Grey for GA and was wondering why you didn't nominate Dynamite. Dynamite is already in good shape to be nominated. I am asking you cause you are the main contributor of that article. I am fine with you waiting until Blue & Grey gets listed. Best regards. EN-Jungwon 17:19, 5 December 2020 (UTC)

EN-Jungwon, its not ready yet. I will nominate when it becomes ready. --Ashleyyoursmile! 05:34, 7 December 2020 (UTC)

Award inclusion

Sour Candy's Wowie Awards win was added to the BP awards+noms page but the majority of adds of this award across WP are supported only by a primary ref taken directly from the wowie website. I googled and haven't found any kind of coverage of it from secondary sources either. There's 1 BB article abt 2018 and 1 Access Online gallery photo of trixie mattel at the 2019 awards which doesn't even load for me. I want to remove it but I don't want to get attacked again for taking out another award because of lack of coverage. Jihkilan didn't take kindly to my explanation abt the QQ Boom Boom awards and it's honestly starting to drain me everytime I work on the page. Do you think it should be included? Because I don't. -- Carlobunnie (talk) 21:40, 8 December 2020 (UTC)

Carlobunnie, I found just one source by Gay Timeswhich is about the performers of the show, and nothing else after a thorough google search. So I think its safe to assume that it isn't notable and can be removed from the table. :) --Ashleyyoursmile! 06:53, 9 December 2020 (UTC)

Blue & Grey - the order of producers.

About the order of producers on "Blue & Gray". The reference BE booklet (Screenshot) https://imgur.com/Rkb7wMe Why did you change it again, when you know already this order is wrong? You must have seen the screenshot from the booklet, I pasted the link to it before. The right order is Park Ji-soo, Levi, V, Hiss Noise. Other order is MISLEADING info. V isn't the main producer on this track.GG HSk (talk) 03:00, 12 December 2020 (UTC)

Manfrottos good day. Content of the Wikipedia needs to be supported by reliable and independent sources for verification. Gold Rush

I have re-edited Gold Rush and have tried to make sure that it good reliability as per WP:NSONG. I have added charts and background, along with reviews by media critics. Please reply and ping me, so that I am notified.--Atlantis77177 (talk) 13:44, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

Atlantis77177, I appreciate the work that you did in expanding the article [1], however it still fails WP:NSONGS - since all sources used excepting [2], are from the album reviews of Evermore and there is no coverage outside these album reviews or any separate interview done for the song. The charts fails under WP:SINGLEVENDOR, so must be removed. So overall, it is not notable enough to warrant a stand-alone article yet. --Ashleyyoursmile! 15:15, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

GA review

I have not seen you on the music good article nominations page for a while, do you think you could review one of my articles potentially like you did once in the past and I've done for you on numerous occasions? --K. Peake 11:06, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

K. Peake, Hi, good to hear from you after a while. I'm actually busy with CVUA training these days, which takes up nearly all of my time on Wikipedia. But I'm really thankful to you for doing a bunch of GA reviews for me, so I'll review "Fire (Kids See Ghosts song)", if that's okay? --Ashleyyoursmile! 15:06, 20 December 2020 (UTC)
Yes that is ideal for you to review to be honest since it's been in the queue for weeks by now, while I find your reduced amount of Wikitime fully understandable. --K. Peake 16:33, 20 December 2020 (UTC)

I can't find a source unfortunately

Hey Ashley, as much as I would like to cite a source for my information on the Amino App there isn't really much I can do on that front as Amino's nature as a social media app mean there aren't very many websites detailing all of it's features. I have run communities on it before and can assure you 'agent' status is real but obviously I can't prove it to you unless you go out of your way to use ACM to start one.

Is there anything I may be able to do to get the info to stay up?

Jz1207 (talk) 16:16, 22 December 2020 (UTC)

Jz1207, unfortunately no. Wikipedia articles should be based on reliable, independent sources that demonstrate its verifiability. --Ashleyyoursmile! 17:34, 22 December 2020 (UTC)

Hi Ashleyyoursmile! I've been running into you while patrolling logs and recent changes, and I happened to notice that you don't have the rollback or pending changes reviewer user rights. I hope you don't mind, but I went through your contributions and I noticed that you're quite active in recent changes patrolling, and that you consistently view and undo vandalism and bad faith disruption. I believe that these user rights would be useful for you to have and that you'd make good use of both tools. Instead of having you formally request these user rights at WP:PERM, I went ahead and just gave them to you. These user rights allow you to review edits that are pending approval on pages currently under pending changes protection, as well as to quickly revert the edits of other users in cases of blatant vandalism.

Rollback permissions
Please keep these things in mind at all times when using rollback to revert edits:
  • Being granted rollback is no more momentous than installing Twinkle. It just adds a "[Rollback]" button next to a page's latest edits - that's all. It does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you (obviously).
  • Rollback should be used to revert clear and unambiguous cases of vandalism only, and never used to revert good faith edits.
  • Rollback should never be used to edit war, and it should never be used in a content-related dispute to restore the page to your preferred revision. If rollback is abused or used for this purpose, the rights will be revoked.
  • Use common sense. If you're not sure about something, ask.
For more information on how to use rollback, see this tutorial page.
Pending changes reviewer permissions
Please keep these things in mind regarding the tools or when you're reviewing any pending changes:
  • A list of articles with pending edits awaiting review can be viewed at Special:PendingChanges, and a list of the articles currently under pending changes protection can be viewed at Special:StablePages.
  • Being granted and having these rights does not grant you any additional "status" on Wikipedia, nor does it change how Wikipedia policies apply to you (obviously).
  • You'll generally want to accept any pending changes that appear to be legitimate edits and are not blatant vandalism or disruption, and reject edits that are problematic or that you wouldn't accept yourself.
  • Never accept any pending changes that contain obvious and clear vandalism, blatant neutral point of view issues, copyright violations, or BLP violations.
You may find the following pages useful to review:

I'm sure you'll do fine with these user rights - they're pretty straight-forward and they don't drastically change the interface that you're used to already. Nonetheless, please don't hesitate to leave me a message on my user talk page if you run into any questions, get stuck anywhere, run into any issues or problems, or if you're not sure if the use of either tool is appropriate or not and need my input or advice - I'll be more than happy to help you any time you need it. If you no longer want one or both of these user rights, let me know and I'll be happy to remove them for you. Thank you for helping to locate, revert, and remove vandalism, as well as review and keep disruptive edits off of Wikipedia - it's a very thankless job to perform and I want you to know that it doesn't go unnoticed and that I appreciate it very much. Happy editing! :-D ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 08:55, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

Oshwah, thank you so much for granting these extended rights. It's really kind of you. I promise to never misuse the tool and use it only to revert obvious vandalism. Thank you again. --Ashleyyoursmile! 09:12, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
You'll do fine with them. They're easy to use. ;-) The best thing about having rollback is that it allows you to use anti-vandalism tools that require the user right (such as Huggle, a tool that I use). Just be cautious at first if you choose to use one - they're powerful and you'll want to make sure that you're comfortable with them. Thanks again for your hard work here. You're definitely appreciated, whether others tell you that or not! :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 09:21, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
Oshwah, I will make sure to read about it thoroughly before using. Thank you for your kind words. --Ashleyyoursmile! 09:33, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
No problem! Like I said, there's not much to it. Rollback just adds a [Rollback] link to the latest edit on each page. Clicking it will instantly undo the edit made by that user. If the user made more than one edit at the same time that's current, it'll undo all of their latest edits and the page will restore the latest edit by the previous editor. Pending changes will only show up if you're on a page that's pending changes protected and where there are edits that are pending review. You'll review the changes, and either press "accept" or "revert". Just go through the tutorials; you'll find that they're pretty simple. Of course, if you have any questions, let me know and I'll be happy to answer them. :-) ~Oshwah~(talk) (contribs) 09:39, 29 December 2020 (UTC)
Oshwah, I will certainly go through the tutorials and approach you if I encounter any problems. Thank you for helping me out, Merry Christmas and have a wonderful, Happy New Year. --Ashleyyoursmile! 10:10, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

6025

I recently added this page I reverted the edit. The reason that it's not supported is that the majority of the support for my edit comes from the band's official Facebook page. Wiki leaks does not accept Facebook as a source, even when it's an official page.

This edit that I made as you can see in the history was previously a reverted by a bought because there was a Facebook link supporting

I also linked to a GoFundMe page which is presently active, and has a lot of the back story but Wikipedia does not accept that as a source either.

Do you have some advice on this? The idea that this page is going to sit here claiming that this person has disappeared and nobody knows where he has when there's plenty of public discussion that proves otherwise is problematic.
I mean if you're gonna edit it why don't you take that out to? The person did not disappear, the band is clearly in touch with them come up people clearly know where he has. So why is that unsupported piece of drivel allowed to sit there? Elikelp (talk) 15:28, 29 December 2020 (UTC)

Bayshore Christian school

Ashleyyoursmile,

Your removal of my content changes to the Bayshore Christian School page citing a lack of a source was incorrect.

1. The opening paragraph changes left the citation, because the one used was originally misquoted. Bayshore Christian is NOT cited in the article as starting as a segregation academy and the first Principal is quoted as rejecting it. Therefore, the citation I left in place confirms my edit, not the incorrect language that is originally there.

2. The academic references are biographical and do not need a citation beyond the school's website - I lifted the language directly from the website and the website is already listed on the Wikipedia page.

3. I do agree I changed the student population without a cite. I will try to figure out how to "cite" that from somewhere.

4. The number of sports is also listed on the school website, which was already cited on the page.

5. The Boys Basketball team success is found on the FHSAA website - also already cited on the page.

I will go back in and try to link the citations but would at a minimum ask that the opening paragraph changes that I made be reinstated, since the citation remains in place and confirms my changes. — Preceding unsigned comment added by FWRanger (talkcontribs) 15:23, 5 January 2021 (UTC)

Three days later, the user was back with two new accounts, one of them impersonating me and another User GELongstreet. GELongstreet filed a SPI. Sturgeon Missouri

You mentioned me not giving a reliable source. I am the reliable source. I went to school in that shithole. The town is incredibly bigoted to anything that doesn't fit into their tiny bubble of acceptance. The bullying was so intense that I dropped out halfway into my junior year. There is nothing even remotely good about the town. — Preceding unsigned comment added by Pitbull Queen (talkcontribs) 14:22, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

alleged content removal

I think you didn't notice that i was fixing grammar and not removing content Rotrex2000 (talk) 17:08, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

Rotrex2000, why do you need to remove references to fix grammar? I'm curious. --Ashleyyoursmile! 17:09, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

I was in the middle of making multiple edits, I thought it would be easier as if anything happened I could quickly revert any edits made and I was going to add the references back to their correct places when I was finished Rotrex2000 (talk) 17:13, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

Rotrex2000, then next time explain in the edit summary that you'll add back the references after making the grammar changes. Happy editing! --Ashleyyoursmile! 17:19, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

Content removal on Islamic feminism

Hi Ashley, you restored content on Islamic feminism which I had removed. Since I don't want to just revert your edit and create any controversy, I decided to come here to express my concerns about that page and explain why I made those edits.

The edits in question were pertaining to the section on dress codes. My issue with the current page (after your reversion and before my edits), specifically the section on dress codes, is that it seems to devote an outsized portion of the discussion to relatively fringe actors and views. It cites a handful of Muslim feminists from a single country and a singular fringe subset of feminism, and highlights them as the most important actors in the Islamic feminist debate on hijab and other forms of veiling. It then proceeds to a brief discussion of the more favorable views that most Muslim feminists have of hijab as a voluntary decision.

Based on the information available my impression is that the French Muslim feminists mentioned (Fadela Amera, Hedi Mhenni) are fringe actors in this debate, certainly outside of France. That's why I didn't think that they merited mention in a generic article on Islamic feminism which is ostensibly a general overview of the subject as an international phenomenon.

Most Muslim feminists do not oppose hijab itself as a social phenomenon, only objecting to enforced wearing of hijab, much less support state-imposed restrictions on the practice. My view is that Wikipedia pages ought to reflect the reality of the subjects they cover, and that includes how you frame information. If I read the page today and didn't have any background information, I'd assume Muslim feminists shared the worldview and politics of Nicolas Sarkozy.

For these reasons, I would suggest the following:

- Removal of the content on hijab restrictions in France and support by fringe actors in the Muslim community for said restrictions, due to the aforementioned framing issues. I believe that this particular content is wholly unnecessary in a generic overview article like this one. Even though it technically may be properly sourced, it's not really useful for this article.

- Brief discussion of the minority of Muslim feminists who view hijab as oppressive, including perhaps a name-drop of some of the people previously mentioned or someone like Asra Nomani

- Discussion of arguments FOR hijab which are made my many/most Muslim feminists, like Linda Sarsour, Ilhan Omar, Dalia Mogahed, etc.

I can certainly start this process myself.

Aronanki (talk) — Preceding undated comment added 20:27, 13 January 2021 (UTC)

Aronanki, thanks for the explanation. You are welcome to start the process yourself, however you should discuss these changes first with other editors who also edit the article so that there is no content dispute. You can start a discussion on the article talk page and describe the things that you wrote here. Happy editing! Ashleyyoursmile! 05:05, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Content removal on Valley of Peace initiative

Hi Ashley, this is regarding paragraph removal in this article Valley of Peace initiative [[6]] the paragraph removed is an exact duplicate of the paragraph above "Project origins, 2005–2008", hence i removed it thanks — Preceding unsigned comment added by Arkoosa (talkcontribs) 00:44, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Arkoosa, thank you for reaching out to me. I have undid the edit and restored it to your version. Happy editing! --Ashleyyoursmile! 05:09, 14 January 2021 (UTC)

Reverting my edit unnecessarily

Recently, you have reverted my edit on Sofiya Rotaru's name at birth - flagging it as possible vandalism and have suggested me playing with the sandbox (not nice). FYI, she was born Sofya Rotar (https://www.imdb.com/name/nm0744719/bio) and changed her name in her 20s. During the Sovietisation of Moldovans the last -"u" were forced to be dropped from the family names, so did her father, and it was a very bold move from her side (expression of nationalism) to restore it back into its original dynastic form RotarU. Now it is your turn to update her page with this information. Good luck!

Thank you for reaching out. You can go ahead and update it yourself and back it up with this citation. Happy editing! --Ashleyyoursmile! 04:46, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

Ian Cobain

Hello,

Recently I made an edit on the Ian Cobain wikipedia page. I am his editor at literary publishing house, Granta and Ian has asked me to forward the below message in response to the current bio that is in place:

Hello, can I make an observation concerning your edits of the wiki page of Ian Cobain? I am Ian Cobain, and the suggestion that I am best known for my undercover work is incorrect. I have been a journalist for 39 years, and went undercover just once, in 2006, when I joined the British National Party under a false name. I feel that insofar as I am known for anything, it may be that I am best known for my investigations into post 9/11 human rights abuses, British state secrecy, and the legacy of Northern Ireland's Troubles.

I do understand how important it is that wikipedia pages remain open for users to edit, but you seem to be rolling back changes that are intended to amend inaccuracies.

Regards,

Ian Cobain — Preceding unsigned comment added by 80.4.164.25 (talk) 16:00, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

Everything on Wikipedia needs to be verifiable and should state exactly what reliable independent sources state. We don't do original research. Since you have conflict of interest with the subject of the article, you are not allowed to edit the page. You can propose the changes on the article talk page. Thank you. Ashleyyoursmile! 16:20, 15 January 2021 (UTC)
(talk page watcher) Just going to pop in here and point out that per policy, editors with a conflict of interest are not prohibited from directly editing the page, but are strongly discouraged to do so. IP editor, you may be interested in getting acquainted with edit requests, which will allow interested and uninvolved editors to add/change information for you, provided a reliable source is given. —Tenryuu 🐲 ( 💬 • 📝 ) 17:43, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

2019–20 Tottenham Hotspur F.C. season

Dear Ashleyyoursmile, I think you made a mistake as I do not need a source for my edit. All I did was edit a page on my football team's season and provide a large review of what happened. From TobyWanKeonobi799 TobyWanKenobi799 (talk) 19:36, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

TobyWanKenobi799, thank you for reaching out to me. I appreciate the changes you wish to make to the article, but you need to provide reliable sources to support the added material. All content on Wikipedia should be verifiable. Please go through the tutorial on adding sources. Happy editing! --Ashleyyoursmile! 19:40, 15 January 2021 (UTC)

Speedy deletion nomination and removal of external link

Hi, Ashleyyoursmile

Recently I made an edit on the coffee and cigarettes Wikipedia page and also creating a page to help develop users ideas on coffee taking. I was not trying to advertise any product just a recommendation to make good coffee and ideas, you can check the website attached to it to see how useful it is (mycoffeetools.com). which I have been a journalist for 20 years. You can get back to me with the requirements or confirmation you'll need to verify my edit.

I do understand how important it is that Wikipedia pages remain open for users to edit, but you seem to be rolling back changes that are intended to amend inaccuracies.

Thank you

Charles besong, thank you for reaching out to me. This edit has been reverted because it appears that you have been trying to advertise and promote a website. Please read the guidelines prescribed under WP:EL. Also regarding the speedy deletion of your userpage, I was not the one who tagged it under CSD. User Serols made the right call and tagged it to be speedy deleted since it is promotional in nature. Such pages are not allowed on Wikipedia.
