Mughal-Maratha wars[edit]
I would like to bring to everyone's attention that this Wikipedia page is being constantly edited. There's a lot of idiots that's seized it. Any sensible emendation or contribution to the page is being intentionally deleted. This is extremely frustrating. Please do something about it. Many uncited claims such as, "the Marathas won the war" and so on, and also certain distorted quotes from the given citations have been laid out evidently, either with an intent to mislead or to push a bigoted and obfuscatory narrative of history. Brihadeeswara edit[edit]
Hi, I have reverted your edit to Brihadeeswara regarding the temple administration [1]. As the title of the reference suggests, "Tamil groups want Maratha hold over temple to go". The protests are being held as Babaji Bhonsle does not have Chola or Tamil lineage. He is indeed the head of the Maratha royal family and the senior prince [2]. I am not suggesting anything. The fact is he isn't a "legal heir" of the Maratha Royal family. The headline is not the story. It's given by the author. You've got to read the entire article, including the comments made by the protestors. One of the protestors named Maniarasan says, and I quote: “Marathis are not aliens. They are long-time settlers of Tamil Nadu. We have no objection to Bhonsle except that he should be stripped off the post of hereditary trustee, as he neither belongs to Chola nor Tamil lineage.
“He is also not the legal heir of Maratha kings who conquered Thanjavur defeating the Nayaks.”
- Hi, The protests were held as Bhonsle, the trustee of the temple, does not have Chola or Tamil lineage. The next statement by one of the protesters, that Bhonsle is not the heir of the Maratha kings is made in passing and not accurate as other sources [3], [4] make him out to be the senior prince of the Maratha royal family. As per [5] he is the 13th descendant of the Maratha kings of Thanjavur. Also the same article [6] mentions that he is indeed the head of the Maratha royal family of Thanjavur, at the very beginning. So I would assume that the author of the article is aware of Bhonsle's background and what he is writing. I don't think you've understood my point.
A) If the paragraph is about the protestors, then you must include their comments.
B) This is your personal opinion, and I can actually also claim that the article is full of the author's personal opinions. It is not for you to decide which statement must considered or ignored. That statement exists in the article. Simple. So you must mention that. Furthermore, the statement is in fact accurate. You don't seem to know the difference between a "legal heir" and a "head prince." You could be a head prince of a royal family without being a legal heir, if you're adopted by them, that is.

Well, it's a well-known fact. That is why the East India Company dethroned the erstwhile ruler through the doctrine of lapse.
- Hi, Your argument is flawed as you do not seem to know the difference between a legal heir and a biological descendant. The doctrine of lapse was applied when a ruler died without a male descendant. On the other hand, one need not be a biological descendant to function as a legal heir. The right to serve as a legal heir cascades down the family until a suitable kin is found. You can be the nephew of the deceased and still serve as a legal heir.
