Managing a conflict of interest

Hello, Rhapsody PR. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Will Bates (composer), you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Speedy deletion nomination of Will Bates (composer)

A tag has been placed on Will Bates (composer), requesting that it be deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under two or more of the criteria for speedy deletion, by which pages can be deleted at any time, without discussion. Responding to the contested deletion

Hi, I've decided to reply here since your message at Talk:Will Bates (composer) may be deleted alongside the page itself.

You wrote:

In adition to being a composer and multi-instrumentalist, Will Bates is also the founder of Fall On Your Sword (which has it's own approved wikipedia page). ... The bio was composed/written by Rhapsody PR in their own words. The bio has been accessible to members of the press to share on their sites (including the website mentioned below).

This may be, but Wikipedia has particular rules around copyright which mean that we cannot accept the text verbatim even if permission has been granted to the press to use it.

But setting aside the copyright rules, the bigger problem is that it goes against the rules against advertising and promotion. Please consider the note above about managing a conflict of interest. Anon126 (notify me of responses! / talk / contribs) 01:01, 6 October 2023 (UTC)
