A tag has been placed on Adam Mucci requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words.

If the external website belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the page meets the criterion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the page that would render it more in conformance with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. ttonyb (talk) 18:03, 18 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that even if the copyright issue were resolved, the promotional tone of a company or personal website is likely to be unsuitable for an encyclopedia article, which requires a neutral point of view. Check out WP:Your first article for good general advice, WP:Notability (people) and WP:ENTERTAINER for Wikipedia's requirements for a person to have an article, and the policy on WP:Biographies of living people. I have a question about Wikipedia that needs to be answered. I have had my account since last Friday (Jan 15) and today is Wednesday. I should be able to edit any page I want, BUT I still can't do that. What should I do?

Please post the answer on the Rip2010 talk page once you see this question.

Regards,

Hi, Thomas! First off — there are a few pages that not everyone can edit. Once you're autoconfirmed (which happens once you've made something like 100 edits) you can edit those pages that are "semiprotected", but unless you're an administrator, you can't edit those pages that are "fully protected". We protect pages to prevent vandalism; it's not like pages are protected for no good reason, and most pages that are protected are protected only temporarily. Moreover — people don't generally look at your talk page unless they already have a reason to talk with you. If you want to ask a question somewhere, try going to the help desk, where it's far more likely that your question will be answered in a timely fashion. Observe what you typed immediately above what I wrote: "My real name is Thomas Van Winkle" :-) Nyttend (talk) 16:07, 30 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]
My point is that I addressed you as Thomas because you said in your comment that your name was Thomas. I'm assuming that you know what your name is :-) Nyttend (talk) 01:18, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Wikipedia. Although everyone is welcome to contribute to Wikipedia, at least one of your recent edits, such as the one you made to Saddle Brook High School, did not appear to be constructive and has been reverted. Please use the sandbox for any test edits you would like to make, and read the welcome page to learn more about contributing constructively to this encyclopedia. Thank you. Civility issue

[edit]

If you ever come onto my talk page with a chip on your shoulder, I promise to knock it off. I do not tolerate incivility on my talk page or among editors. That said, another user asked for help regarding your misdirecting of your talk page and I moved it as a favor. This is not a social networking site and civility is a hallmark of this site. You would do very well to review that link. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 04:07, 31 January 2010 (UTC)[reply]

  • Hello again. FYI, your talk page is not a log of your actions. It is used for communication between other users. No need to log your actions as they show up in your edit history. Second, I've taken the initiative to delete your user page because of your inclusion of sensitive personal information. Wikipedia is a marvelous site, but keep in mind that this is one of the top five most-viewed sites on the internet...and the internet is a dangerous place. Feel free to respond here if you wish. I'm trying to take a break from the project and I've locked down my talk page to prevent vandalism since I do so much patrolling for vandalism. OK? Thanks. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 17:31, 2 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Account Page Discussion

Hello! You have deleted my account page. I saw your message and I say OK, but please tell me in advance when you will delete a page created by me.

SINCERELY,

Rip2010 (talk) 00:58, 3 February 2010 (UTC)Rip2010[reply]

PS: You may email me at tvanwinkle121@gmail.com or here if you want to respond to this message.

  • Sorry, but that's not how this works...and you run yet another risk posting your e-mail account here. It is possible to post an e-mail account here by clicking on the "my preferences" tag after you sign in. This keeps it secret yet still allows other users with e-mail addresses posted here to contact you. As an administrator, I don't really need permission to delete content as no one actually "owns" a page and it was done for your benefit and safety. Remember: Keep it civil and keep it safe. I'll pop by every so often to see how you're doing and to offer advice. Best, --PMDrive1061 (talk) 17:06, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
PS: There's also no need to manually add a time stamp. The system does it for you when you type four tildes like this: ~~~~ or if you click on the tab above the page which looks like a signature when in edit mode. You'll see this when you do: --~~~~ which in turn will add and properly indent your user name and time stamp.--PMDrive1061 (talk) 17:09, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]
Hello PMDrive1061. If you are watching this page, can you respond on my talk? I can't seem to leave a message for you since your user talk is fully protected and you do not have email enabled. Thanks, EdJohnston (talk) 18:51, 3 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Hello PMDrive1061. I see your message. Thanks for the offer to give me advice. You can give me advice whenever you want.

You bet. Glad to help. I'm not very good at taking wikibreaks anyway.  :) I'll be back soon and I'll reopen my talk page if you have any problems or questions. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 00:01, 4 February 2010 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome and thank you for experimenting with Wikipedia. Your test on the page Hurricane Alex (2010) worked, and it has been reverted or removed. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. If you would like to experiment further, please use the sandbox instead. Thank you. Stat updates

[edit]

If you want to update statistics, such as those on Derek Jeter's page, please update every category at the same time. By updating his hit totals and not updating his runs, RBIs, etc., you are adding inaccuracy to the encyclopedia in those categories. Thank you. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:59, 23 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Jorgeposada.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Jorgeposada.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information.

To add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia. For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 4 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Jorgeposada.jpg. However, it currently is missing information on its copyright status and its source. Wikipedia takes copyright very seriously.

If you did not create this work entirely yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. You will also need to state under what licensing terms it was released. Please refer to the image use policy to learn what files you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. The page on copyright tags may help you to find the correct tag to use for your file.

Please add this information by editing the image description page. If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.

Please also check any other files you may have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. – Muboshgu (talk) 19:05, 8 November 2011 (UTC)[reply]
