Wiki format needed on House of Tulsipur; I can help you with that

[edit]

Greetings, I saw your article House of Tulsipur, and it needs a fair bit of fine tuning. How about you drop me a line and I can walk you through the process of smoothing it out. You can make the process a lot easier for yourself by learning just a few Wiki basics, and it'll make your articles better and better. Among other things, you're currently typing:[http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Dang_Deukhuri_District Dang-Deokhuri District], which is completely unnecessary. Instead, simply type [[Dang Deukhuri District]] with double-brackets around it; that will link you to any wiki article you bracket, like this, Dang Deukhuri District. Similarly, there's a much easier way to do automatic footnoting that will fill out your References list for you. Just contact me and I can help you with the basics, and all your future articles will be smoother and smoother. MatthewVanitas (talk) 19:47, 7 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

As some initial cleanup, I suggest the following:
  • Check through the article and fix any words which are ALL CAPITALS. This is not part of Wikipedia format, as in Internet culture this is considered "shouting".
  • Currently you're using bolding and indentations to create section headings. This is unnecessary as Wikipedia automatically creates sections by putting equal signs around terms:
==Section==
===Sub-Section==
==Sub-Sub-Section==
  • For your section "Key information", that's not an easy way to read it, and not how Wikipedia is done. It's best to either put info into paragraph/section format, or if it's just a list of basic designations, consider creating a chart or infobox. For example, consider an article covering a singular kingdom: Kingdom of Yugoslavia. Note the nice clear infobox on the right side? Much easier way to list out data, vice a choppy listing in the text.
  • Here's the big issue: footnoting. Currently you list resources at the bottom, but there's no indication as to which claims above are substantiated by which resources below. If you know what sources apply to which info, you can use Wikipedia's footnoting formats to automatically list your footnotes, which is far easier than manually typing a (1) above and matching it below. For info, see WP:Footnotes.
Try those out, and see how much smoother the article gets. Feel free to write if any of this is unclear, or if you get these improvements made and are looking to push further forward. MatthewVanitas (talk) 01:31, 8 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File Copyright problem
File Copyright problem

Thanks for uploading File:Maharaj Jung London 1850 AD.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, then a link to the website from which it was taken, together with a restatement of that website's terms of use of its content, is usually sufficient information. However, if the copyright holder is different from the website's publisher, their copyright should also be acknowledged.

As well as adding the source, we also need to know the terms of the license that the copyright holder has published the file under, usually done by adding a licensing tag. If you created/took the picture, audio, or video then the {{GFDL-self}} tag can be used to release it under the GFDL. If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use in|article name}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:Image copyright tags#Fair use. See Wikipedia:Image copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source and tagged them, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Unsourced and untagged files may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If the file is copyrighted under a non-free license (per Wikipedia:Fair use) then the file will be deleted 48 hours after 23:06, 23 April 2011 (UTC). If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Eeekster (talk) 23:06, 23 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

License tagging for File:Prince-Of-Wales-and-Maharaj-Jung-Hunting-1876-AD.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Prince-Of-Wales-and-Maharaj-Jung-Hunting-1876-AD.jpg. You don't seem to have indicated the license status of the image. Wikipedia uses a set of image copyright tags to indicate this information; to add a tag to the image, select the appropriate tag from this list, click on this link, then click "Edit this page" and add the tag to the image's description. If there doesn't seem to be a suitable tag, the image is probably not appropriate for use on Wikipedia.

For help in choosing the correct tag, or for any other questions, leave a message on Wikipedia:Media copyright questions. Thank you for your cooperation. --ImageTaggingBot (talk) 03:05, 24 April 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Better source request for File:Aftermath Mutiny 1860 Escape.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Aftermath Mutiny 1860 Escape.jpg. You provided a source, but it is difficult for other users to examine the copyright status of the image because the source is incomplete. Please consider clarifying the exact source so that the copyright status may be checked more easily. It is best to specify the exact Web page where you found the image, rather than only giving the source domain or the URL of the image file itself. Please update the image description with a URL that will be more helpful to other users in determining the copyright status.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have specified their source in a complete manner. You can find a list of files you have uploaded by following this link. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page or me at my talk page. Thank you. Sfan00 IMG (talk) 11:11, 22 December 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Reverted you

[edit]

I have reverted your actions at House of Tulsipur. Your edit summary said it all,

(Sitush - this is the problem 30 miilion Nepalis have with writers of Indian origin. They think anything coming from Nepalis must be not true. This is histroy resulting from 30 years of research and it is here to stay

It is nothing to do with Nepalis, however numerous they may or may not be, nor is it anything to do with nationality. It is everything to do with using reliable sources to provide verifiability of statements made here at Wikipedia. Not your own research, nor synthesis of research done by others, nor statements that are unverifiable or which rely on sources that a consensus of the the Wikipedia community deems to be unreliable.

Please abide by our policies. You may also want to reconsider your comment about writers of Indian origin. - Sitush (talk) 18:08, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Okay Sitush - let's talk about what "History" is. Would you like to have a "philisophical" discourse or modern version of definition discourse.

For example "Battle of Loos" was a historical fact. For example "King Commission Officers" was a historical fact. For example "Military Dispatches" were indeed printed in London Times. For example "World War I" is event that really really happened. You don't believe it happened, Sitush? For example "World War II" is event that really really happened. You don't believe it happened, Sitush?

And tell me Mr. Sitush...what kind of sane man asks for WWI and WWII citation? Its like asking citation for a statement when I say "we live in planet earth". I mean these are basic facts everyone knows....Comon On !!!

March 2012

[edit]

I am not engaged in edit war. I just disagree with Mr. Sitush who seems to have all "God Given" right to do whatever he pleases with other people's 30 year of research.

I simply asked him to leave historical facts alone. Granted, if it is not to Wiki par technically speaking then he can help me do the appropriate citing since I don't know Wiki technology. But he need NOT try to erase history.

I don't want any war, I simply want to help the world know history of a small place called "Tulsipur". I can gurantee you that I know more than Sithush about history of Tulsipur.

Please help.

Your recent editing history at House of Tulsipur shows that you are currently engaged in an edit war. Being involved in an edit war can result in you being blocked from editing—especially if you violate the three-revert rule, which states that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Undoing another editor's work—whether in whole or in part, whether involving the same or different material each time—counts as a revert. Also keep in mind that while violating the three-revert rule often leads to a block, you can still be blocked for edit warring—even if you don't violate the three-revert rule—should your behavior indicate that you intend to continue reverting repeatedly.

To avoid being blocked, instead of reverting please consider using the article's talk page to work toward making a version that represents consensus among editors. You can post a request for help at a relevant noticeboard or seek dispute resolution. In some cases, you may wish to request temporary page protection.

Editing while logged out, as you now appear to have done, is not going to resolve the problems that are described above. You are extremely close to being blocked from editing & I would strongly suggest that you take a look both at the policies that have been mentioned to you and perhaps also at some other articles for examples of how to do things properly. James Tod might be one, since that has just obtained "featured" status. Sitush (talk) 22:03, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. In case you didn't know, when you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion, you should sign your posts by typing four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment. You could also click on the signature button or located above the edit window. This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is useful because other editors will be able to tell who said what, and when they said it. Thank you. --SineBot (talk) 22:26, 4 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

You have been blocked from editing for a period of a day for edit warring, as you did at House of Tulsipur. Once the block has expired, you are welcome to make useful contributions. If you would like to be unblocked, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

During a dispute, you should first try to discuss controversial changes and seek consensus. If that proves unsuccessful, you are encouraged to seek dispute resolution, and in some cases it may be appropriate to request page protection. Salvio Let's talk about it! 00:47, 5 March 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Gorkhali Peg moved to draftspace

[edit]

An article you recently created, Gorkhali Peg, does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.
