A tag has been placed on Carr Collins,Sr. requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, you can place a request here. reddogsix (talk) 03:07, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I didn't see a button to contest the speedy deletion nomination. Robert McClenon (talk) 14:19, 26 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. Wikipedia appreciates your help. We noticed though that when you edited Carr Collins, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page American (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are almost always unintended, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of "Did you mean..." article titles. Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.

Cut & paste move

[edit]

Hi, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you recently tried to give Wikipedia talk:Articles for creation/Madeleine Riffaud a different title by copying its content and pasting either the same content, or an edited version of it, into Madeleine Riffaud. This is known as a "cut and paste move", and it is undesirable because it splits the page history, which is legally required for attribution. Instead, the software used by Wikipedia has a feature that allows pages to be moved to a new title together with their edit history.

In most cases, once your account is four days old and has ten edits, you should be able to move an article yourself using the "Move" tab at the top of the page. This both preserves the page history intact and automatically creates a redirect from the old title to the new. If you cannot perform a particular page move yourself this way (e.g. because a page already exists at the target title), please follow the instructions at requested moves to have it moved by someone else. Also, if there are any other pages that you moved by copying and pasting, even if it was a long time ago, please list them at Wikipedia:Cut and paste move repair holding pen. Thank you. - David Biddulph (talk) 07:04, 30 April 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hi, during the Michael Brutsch AfD discussion I saw a number of users talk about merging or restructuring the article into another one, so I am opening up a discussion of such a merge here, if you are interested in participating. Thanks! Breadblade (talk) 20:38, 3 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Karan Rao

[edit]

It didn't actually look like socking to me; rather, it was a new user who was unintelligently trying to make the support for keeping the article appear much larger than it was. If you look at this comment, User:Candicell signed as "DAR." Here, User:Candicell signed as "Dr. Adil." Here and elsewhere, User:Candicell signed as "Candicell." That's in addition to multiple unsigned comments which were later signed by SignBot. Judging by the user's poor grasp of English and complete disregard for site policies displayed across the multiple bogus articles they created, it seems like they don't realize any other user can look at the page history and see that there weren't multiple users pushing to keep the article but rather one user signing with different names. English

[edit]

Thank you very much. I understand well written english, but when I have to write myself I tend to do grammatical and syntactic errors, which sometimes change the sense. I am progressing, I hope, but the encouragements are very welcome! --Harmonia Amanda (talk) 20:37, 5 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Vienna Document may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave my operator a message on his talk page. Thanks, BracketBot (talk) 02:30, 8 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Hello, I'm BracketBot. I have automatically detected that your edit to Defense Threat Reduction Agency may have broken the syntax by modifying 2 "[]"s and 1 "{}"s. If you have, don't worry, just edit the page again to fix it. If I misunderstood what happened, or if you have any questions, you can leave a message on my operator's talk page.

Robert, just a quick reminder that Help Desk reply templates like {{astray}} should be substituted - {{subst:Astray}} - rather than transcluded. I fixed your recent reply at the HD accordingly. Thanks.--ukexpat (talk) 18:02, 9 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Please explain

[edit]

Please explain this. Thanks. - DVdm (talk) 11:50, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Never mind. It was a Huggle bug. Sorry. - DVdm (talk) 11:53, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

It is evident to me that DVdm and Mais oui! were simultaneously reverting a vandalism by 201.76.115.240 resulting in an edit conflict that DVdm didn't notice. It was either a bug in the tool that he was using, or a blunder. DVdm is normally much more careful in his patrolling. Stigmatella aurantiaca (talk) 12:09, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks Stig. I've had this a number of times. Huggle is an absolutely fabulous tool, but it has a few shortcomings, specially when there's an instance of Maple 16 running in the backgound and Symantec is running a full virus scan. I should have known better allowing these three hogs to work together. Anyway, this anon was a bit of a pain to tackle ([3]). Cheers and sorry again. - DVdm (talk) 12:29, 14 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for the heads up about the socks. They are now in a check user case, but someone suggested that the guy is editing from many IP access points and may be difficult to block without causing a fairly wide swath of inaccessibility to non disruptive anonymous editors. Hopefully they will get tired of their game soon (or they will run out of spoof names to use!) -- TRPoD aka The Red Pen of Doom 19:23, 17 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

Your contributed article, Falls Church (disambiguation).

[edit]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

Hello, I noticed that you recently created a new page, Falls Church (disambiguation).. First, thank you for your contribution; Wikipedia relies solely on the efforts of volunteers such as you. Unfortunately, the page you created covers a topic on which we already have a page – Falls Church (disambiguation). Because of the duplication, your article has been tagged for speedy deletion. Please note that this is not a comment on you personally and we hope you will continue helping to improve Wikipedia. If the topic of the article you created is one that interests you, then perhaps you would like to help out at Falls Church (disambiguation) – you might like to discuss new information at the article's talk page.

If you think the article you created should remain separate, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion". Additionally if you would like to have someone review articles you create before they go live so they are not nominated for deletion shortly after you post them, allow me to suggest the article creation process and using our search feature to find related information we already have in the encyclopedia. Try not to be discouraged. Wikipedia looks forward to your future contributions. noq (talk) 12:18, 19 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

BP article, question

[edit]

Hi there,

I left you this question in an attempt to clarify your position. I am afraid you may have missed it, so am reposing here - but please reply at the talk page.

What is your reasoning for suggesting mediation? Is this about the Gulf spill section, or about the article in general? If you wouldn't mind clarifying your complaints/observations, it would be appreciated.

I am still unclear about what you mean by "POV pushing". Arturo has declared his COI, so his edits can't be considered POV, in case that is what you are referring to. Thanks for your help, petrarchan47tc 22:35, 29 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]

I've left you a follow-up question. Thanks again, petrarchan47tc 04:40, 30 May 2013 (UTC)[reply]
