You'll be very much missed, Rubywine. It's so fucked up that a valuable editor like you should be driven off Wikipedia. Please consider taking a break instead of leaving for good. Thank you so much for all your work! --Sonicyouth86 (talk) 16:43, 4 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Agreed, I was looking forward to working with you on the FGM page. I understand how frustrating things can get on Wikipedia, I almost quit after my recent experiences. Having Jakew waste a month of my time for an obvious edit, and then seeing Ironholds call me an idiot on Henrietta's talk page, I had had enough without even being here that long. But once I logged back in and decided to start over and got the positive response I got from you, I realized that not all experienced Wikipedia editors (or admins) are a bunch of assholes who disregard all the guidelines and break the rules. I too hope you'll reconsider. Vietminh (talk) 03:45, 5 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks to both of you for your kind remarks, which are much appreciated. I'll see how I feel in a few months' time. Best regards. Rubywine . talk 01:13, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes! Working within the confines of "assume good faith" and "be civil" is exhausting in some areas, and a break can be needed. I'm hoping Rubywine will express an opinion on the many changes that have occurred to the FGM article (which have led to its consideration as a featured article). Thanks for pointing this out. It's an incredible turnaround, and I've added a comment to that discussion. Best regards. Rubywine . talk 01:13, 17 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Just when things seemed to be going well for a change, everyone started leaving. What happened? I hope you'll be back soon! Kaldari (talk) 21:15, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Survey[edit]

Hi Rubywine!

I have put together a survey for female editors of Wikipedia (and related projects) in order to explore, in greater detail, women's experiences and roles within the Wikimedia movement. It'd be wonderful if you could participate!

It's an independent survey, done by me, as a fellow volunteer Wikimedian. It is not being done on behalf of the Wikimedia Foundation. I hope you'll participate!

Just click this link to participate!

Any questions or concerns, feel free to email me or stop by my user talk page. I appreciate your contributions - to the survey and to Wikipedia! Thank you! SarahStierch (talk) 04:32, 27 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Orphaned non-free media (File:Majorgeeks.logo.jpg)[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:Majorgeeks.logo.jpg. The media description page currently specifies that it is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, it is currently orphaned, meaning that it is not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the media was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that media for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

If you have uploaded other unlicensed media, please check whether they're used in any articles or not. You can find a list of 'file' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "File" from the dropdown box. Note that all non-free media not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. Hazard-Bot (talk) 04:01, 10 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. The article M. Sayeed Alam has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one.
