Speedy deletion nomination of Presbyphonia[edit]

A tag has been placed on Presbyphonia requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a clear copyright infringement. This page appears to be a direct copy from http://www.cuh.org.uk/sites/default/files/publications/PIN2465_presbyphonia_v2.pdf. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. I am puzzled by some of the references you have added to the new version of Presbyphonia. You include "Lee Akst. Director, Johns Hopkins Voice Center. Interview conducted by phone June 10, 2014.". Do you mean that you spoke to this person yourself? If not, if this is a reference from another work, then you must cite the work in which you found the information, not the interview. Similarly with all the other references; cite them only if you yourself have consulted the work. If its a reference found elsewhere, cite the work where you found it.

What about "Goodman, A. (2008). Retrieved on 17/10/13 from: enttoday.org"? Were you working on this topic three years ago? Or is this someone else's reference?

And the very first reference: "American Academy of Otolaryngology — Head and Neck Surgery. (n.d.). The Voice and Aging. Retrieved March 06, 2016". Is it a website, in which case you need to give us the URL. If it is a book, it needs author or editor, and page.

So did you actually look at the references you cite as numbers 3, 4 and 5? They are surprisingly identical to the references given in https://www.verywell.com/what-is-presbyphonia-2223346, though I see that you no longer claim to have conducted an interview by phone. As I said above, the sources you cite should be the sources where you have found the information. If you found your information in a patient-oriented website like "Very Well",^[1] don't pretend that you have found it in academic journals. PamD 14:00, 5 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]
