Google Play page[edit]

Hello, I removed the Play Newsstand content, simply because I added it to the Main Google Play Newsstand page, there's no need to make Google Play page duplicate with separate articles. And what is this Google Play branded applictions. Google Play Store has music and movies and etc and there is simply Play Games, which actually has nothing to do with Google Play Store. Google Play-branded applications refers to the applications with 'Google Play' in their name. Yes, Play Games has nothing to do with the Play Store. But Play Newsstand also has only a little to do with the Play Store because you can follow topics, subscribe to RSS feeds, and subscribe to free news sources all without going to the Play Store. So, in a way, they are similar. Please note that the information about Play Newsstand is a condensed (shortened) version of the text in the main article. Google Library Project[edit]

Hi there, just read your comments re: my additions to this article.

I was not aware that the critiques I included had already been made in the Google Books article; thank you for bringing that to my attention. That being the case, I have no objection to having my comments deleted from the Google Library Project article and replaced by a link to the comments in the other article.

As regarding comments like "gibberish" not being objective, there I have to disagree.

An uncorrected OCR error in an equation completely destroys it's meaning -- the definition of "gibberish" is "unintelligible, meaningless language" (Webster's New Collegiate Dictionary, 9th edition). Google's uncorrected Library Project scan of Einstein's original papers on Relativity Theory is 136 pages of meaningless quasi-random characters between two imperfectly reproduced e-covers. If that's not "gibberish", I don't know what is. :)

ETA: You say: "Google has often replied to the criticisms raised against the project, and you need to include them." Would you mind telling me where Google has replied to these criticisms? I have spent some time studying the issue, and I've not seen any specific replies from Google. Indeed, I've not even seen any specific place where one would make these criticisms known directly to the Google Books Library Project. I have now copyedited your text. "Gibberish" has been replaced with more formal wording. The line containing that word appeared as if they are your opinions. Remember, Wikipedia has no place for the opinions of individual editors. You can only add facts or the opinions of experts. Sometimes, it is useful to quote the source directly. Also, please note that blogs and discussion forums are not WP:Reliable sources and should not used as references, especially for criticisms. These have been flagged with a {{Unreliable source}} tag. P.S. Why do you put two spaces after almost every sentence?
And of course, Google will not make any specific replies to criticisms unless too many people are complaining about the same thing, or if the complainant is someone famous, like Geoffrey Nunberg. WP:AINTBROKE[edit]

Before you try merging the page again, gain community consensus. It makes no sense for you to merge this page on your own whim, especially since you're redirecting a history-old Wikipedia page to a page you created on 7 March 2015. The old page was better, and there was nothing wrong with it - it was short, succinct, and to the point. The shortness of the page with its one-liner brought the message home very effectively. @Benlisquare: The fact that WP:BROKE is short is in itself its biggest fault. If you take a look around the WP:Village pump, you will come across so many proposals that are opposed on the basis of them being "solutions looking for a problem." The term "solution looking for a problem" is used as well as misused too commonly. We need to properly define it to prevent misuse. WP:BROKE is so short and unexplanatory that different users come up with their own interpretations of the arguement. That essay does not tell us the cases in which the arguement should not be used as an oppose rationale for proposals. Thus, it does not at all "bring home the message effectively", as you say. The new essay, on the other hand, makes everything clear. There is a paragraph that explicitly describes the cases where the arguement should not be used. Your concern that the new essay is too verbose is genuine. But some verbosity is often required to explain something properly; however you may shorten it if you wish.
I was just being WP:BOLD in making the merge as WP:Avoid writing redundant essays tells us that redundant essays should be merged, and because "solution looking for a problem" is the very commonly used term. SD0001 (talk) 14:10, 8 March 2015 (UTC)[reply]
It's okay to be WP:BOLD, and I understand where you're coming from. My point is that your unilateral change may not be viewed to be an improvement by many editors, and hence it's in everyone's best interests if consensus is gauged beforehand. The contents of the articles on Wikipedia must be verifiable through reliable sources. If there are no reliable sources about your instrument, then that means your instrument is not notable and thus is not eligible to be on WIkipedia. It can have be an article if and only if your instrument becomes popular and is commented upon by newspapers or magazines or written about in books. Well, I see the point. But there were a lot of articles, radio reports and tv reports during the Expo-time, I will include more sources to the article. Of course the instrument is popular, too - actually it is one of most popular pipe organs as more than eight million visitors saw and heard it as one of the top four attractions of Yeosu Expo, it was played every half hour and opened and closed every Expo-day with a Fanfare in full volume. Draft:Asiff Hussein[edit]

Hi, SD0001. I saw your note on this draft. I checked out the two drafts. They couldn't be history merged, because the newer one was not really a copy of the old draft; it just had some overlapping content. I had already been working on the older draft, so I decided to finish it up. It's at Asiff Hussein. I added in a couple of book titles that were mentioned in the new draft, but didn't use any of the editor's words. Instead of the extensive list of offline citations, I found online sources to back up the information, so I decided that the "Citations" section was unnecessary. Since I didn't use any of the new text from Draft:Asiff Hussein, I don't think it needs to be kept for attribution purposes. If you agree, please revert your edits and then I will delete the draft under db-g13. If you disagree, and feel it needs to be kept, it can be redirected to the mainspace article and moved to Asiff Hussein (writer).
