ArbCom 2017 election voter message

Hello, SPN Lifer. Voting in the 2017 Arbitration Committee elections is now open until 23.59 on Sunday, 10 December. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.

Citation Required for Alumni Status

Please stop continuing to remove maintenance templates from pages on Wikipedia, as you did to Dowling Catholic High School ‎, without resolving the problem that the template refers to. This may be considered disruptive editing. Further edits of this type may result in your account being blocked from editing. Not only is there no citation in his linked article as you claimed, there isn't even a mention of the school. Meters (talk) 04:30, 23 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]

From SPN Lifer: Actually, the linked article has multiple citations of his role in the formation and history of the band. You are correct, it did not mention his alumni status.
Moreover, I did clearly explain the rationale for the edit. So even if incorrect, with respect to one component of the citation I had not considered, it was easily reverted and hardly "disruptive". — Preceding unsigned comment added by SPN Lifer (talkcontribs) 01:58, 23 June 2018 (UTC)[reply]
There is no need to provide a citation for notability for an alumnus with a linked wikiarticle. There's also no need to provide a citation for the fact that he is in the band (both his article and the linked band articles confirm that, So, the only possible reason for the citation request was for his attendance at the school. Your edit and summary seemed to me to be an intentional attempt to deceptively remove a maintenance tag, with a bogus summary. That's why a warned you. Inclusion of Class Year in Notable Alumni Lists

Inclusion of “Sunday” before Date in Super Bowl Pages

Do no re-add the day of the week to Super Bowl pages since all of them are played on Sunday. In addition, it is already stated in the main page that Super Bowl is played on Sunday and we do not need to repeat it in every page regarding the event. Section headings: Because threads are shared by multiple editors (regardless how many have posted so far), no one, including the original poster, "owns" a talk page discussion or its heading. It is generally acceptable to change headings when a better heading is appropriate, e.g., one more descriptive of the content of the discussion or the issue discussed, less one-sided, more appropriate for accessibility reasons, etc. To avoid disputes, it is best to discuss a heading change with the editor who started the thread, if possible, when a change is likely to be controversial.
