Close reverted

Hi. I've undone your close at Wikipedia:Miscellany for deletion/User:UBX/heterosexual2. Although MfDs are usually closed by admins anyway, given the nature, history and contentiousness of this dispute it would be expected that any closer (admin or not) would provide at least some explanation for how they reached their judgement. Your close, which read (in full) The result was no consensus. There is no consensus., would be unacceptable and SNOW overturned at WP:DRV, and since we're not a bureaucracy I don't see the need in taking up lots of community time with that process. I will note that I'm not an admin, and I suppose you could challenge my revert at Wikipedia:Administrators' noticeboard if you disagree.

In general, please be more cautious when closing discussions. Unless the result is very obvious, it's important to explain the reasoning you used to arrive at your conclusions. This helps others determine the validity of your reasoning, and also provides a summary of the discussion (which often are quite lengthy!) to people in the future looking back on it in the archives. If closing discussions is something you enjoy doing, I'd suggest reading Wikipedia:Advice on closing discussions. I can't pretend to be an expert myself, but I personally found the page provides very helpful advice on how to determine consensus and write closes. Review needed

Hi Sahaib, will you review the article Draft:Raybak_Abdesselem The athlete has recently won a gold medal in the European world championship, also passing the notability WP:NGYMNASTICS --Static Hash (talk) 07:56, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

@Static Hash:, I looked at the previous deletion discussion and I don’t think he meets WP:ATHLETE. Also he is not a gymnast so WP:GYMNAST does not apply.Sahaib3005 (talk) 15:07, 31 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi, he has won gold medal in a championship last week for France and it makes him notable according to me if he is still not then how come his country females are having Wikipedia here who has won same amount of matches, medals and participated in same events. Such as this one Sophia_Bouderbane--Static Hash (talk) 07:45, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

@Static Hash:, please read WP:OTHERSTUFF. Also Sophia Bouderbane is notable because she has one medals in the European Games and the European Championships. Draft:Raybak Abdesselem, has only won medals in youth competitions.Sahaib3005 (talk) 14:45, 1 September 2021 (UTC)

Ship PRODS

Per AFD on ships, WP:NOTCLEANUP means using deletion to dismiss incomplete articles is unacceptable. If you find a ship that has only one notable event on the page, like you have done on several articles, please feel free to dig into sources and add information. I guarantee you, its out there. Llammakey (talk) 12:26, 2 September 2021 (UTC)

I have reverted your move. Don't move any articles when an AfD is in progress.--Bbb23 (talk) 19:57, 3 September 2021 (UTC)

user:Bbb23, How was I meant to know, no one told me that 😕 Sahaib3005 (talk) 20:04, 3 September 2021 (UTC)

You need to be told that you can't draftify an article when an AfD is in progress? That strains credulity. Not only that, but you went on to close the AfD prematurely. Either you're being deliberately obtuse, or you're insufficiently competent to edit here. I should really block you for what you did, but I'll let it go this time. If I see behavior like this again, though, I will block you.--Bbb23 (talk) 20:08, 3 September 2021 (UTC)

Thank you!!

Thank you so much for your kindness in changing the DYK nomination to my name. It really means a great deal to me. Not only is this my first DYK nomination, you have now allowed me to make it "myself" for the first article I have ever written!

Of course, you have also made good and helpful edits to Nigel Bonner, including adding the photo, fixing his name (boy, did I feel stupid for missing That!) and doing some technical edits that I wouldn't have known how to do... such as correcting the colons that I misplaced in the Category section. I understand that your true intentions were to help, and not to hurt.

Thanks again for your excellent assistance and your kindness and understanding, regarding the DYK. Sincere best wishes, Tribe of Tiger Let's Purrfect! 22:31, 10 September 2021 (UTC)

Request on 19:40:18, 12 September 2021 for assistance on AfC submission by Nazanin4235

The subject of article is a musician, so I believe WP:MUSIC would apply here. In addition, Could you please point me to one unreliable source in the draft? I am under impression that every sources that I have used are fairly following the reliable sources guideline.

Nazanin4235 (talk) 19:40, 12 September 2021 (UTC)

User:Nazanin4235, I still don’t think the article is sourced properly. Also the article does not follow the manual of style. The discography is all weird. Please see Category:GA-Class biography (musicians) articles for good examples of musicians. I won’t be reviewing the article again and will let someone else give their opinion. Sahaib3005 (talk) 19:46, 12 September 2021 (UTC)

Picture of the Day

It is good to see that you are creating POTDs. Thank you. I expect you have come across the guidelines. Number three asks you to add {{Picture of the day|YYYY-MM-DD}} to the local file description page for the featured picture. I found this confusing at first, because left-clicking on the image takes you to a page on Commons that is not relevant to this instruction. However, right-clicking and opening the file in a new tab takes you to a Wikipedia page where there is an "Edit local description" option. By doing this step, we get a record of which featured pictures have appeared on the main page and when, and the file is removed from the Category:Featured pictures that have not appeared on the Main Page, which I use when I select images. Unless the POTD is imminent, instructions 5 and 6 can be done nearer the time the image is due to appear on the main page. Keep up the good work! Cwmhiraeth (talk) 10:07, 14 September 2021 (UTC)

List of DC Comics characters pages-related

I heard that you were the one who did a mass-merging of the List of minor DC Comics characters page to the Lists of DC Comics characters page similar to how some of the entries that either started with A or have their last name started with A sent to that list by @Jhenderson777:. I'd like to let you know that some of the links that went to the former page are on the latter page as noted when @Blazewing16: followed a link to Paintball (comics) there during one of his edits on Stargirl. While I was able to fix some of those redirects along with some other editors after the latter editor mentioned it in the show's edit summary, I was wondering if you would help out by having any remaining links redirected to their respectful List of DC Comics characters pages. --Rtkat3 (talk) 14:24, 16 September 2021 (UTC)

I was tagged here and I thought the message of Rtkat3 was to me at first. Carry on. I am sure you guys will figure things out. Jhenderson 777 16:03, 16 September 2021 (UTC)

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on File:Squares designs.jpeg requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G4 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be a repost of material that was previously deleted following a deletion discussion, at Wikipedia:Files for discussion/2021 September 9#File:Squares crisps designs.jpeg. When a page has substantially identical content to that of a page deleted after a discussion, and any changes in the content do not address the reasons for which the material was previously deleted, it may be deleted at any time.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you can place a request here.
