Welcome![edit]

Hello, Sahrayo, and welcome to Wikipedia! Thank you for your contributions.

I noticed that one of the first articles you edited was Peter Stilton, which appears to be dealing with a topic with which you may have a conflict of interest. In other words, you may find it difficult to write about that topic in a neutral and objective way, because you are, work for, or represent, the subject of that article. Your recent contributions may have already been undone for this very reason.

To reduce the chances of your contributions being undone, you might like to draft your revised article before submission, and then ask me or another editor to proofread it. See our help page on userspace drafts for more details. If the page you created has already been deleted from Wikipedia, but you want to save the content from it to use for that draft, don't hesitate to ask anyone from this list and they will copy it to your user page.

One rule we do have in connection with conflicts of interest is that accounts used by more than one person will unfortunately be blocked from editing. Wikipedia generally does not allow editors to have usernames which imply that the account belongs to a company or corporation. If you have a username like this, you should request a change of username or create a new account. (A name that identifies the user as an individual within a given organization may be OK.)

In addition, if you receive, or expect to receive, compensation for any contribution you make, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation to comply with our terms of use and our policy on paid editing.

Here are some pages that you might find helpful:

I hope you enjoy editing here and being a Wikipedian! Please sign your messages on talk pages using four tildes (~~~~); this will automatically insert your username and the date. If you need help, check out Wikipedia:Questions, ask me on my talk page, or ask your question on this page and then place {{Help me}} before the question. Again, welcome! Dear Netherzone,
Many thanks for your valuable remarks. I am a novice in Wikipedia in deed, and I think that reading all the sources and guidelines you mentioned are good for my learning process. I still don see what wrong with my username (actually it s a short cut of my real name ' Yosra Sahraoui'= Sahra/yo). If you think that change it is a must, I will do it for sure as I trust your expert point of view. I will come back to you very soon for help once I rewrite the article following your advices. Again thank you very much for your valuable advices. They look quite logical and I appreciate them. I'm writing for the pleasure to write and contribute. Thank you again!

Hello and thank you for your reply. There is not a problem with your user name. There are other indications that you may have a conflict of interest, or may be a paid editor who has not disclosed their connection to the subject of the article. Do you have a connection to Peter Stilton or his family, gallery, collectors or associates? Netherzone (talk) 06:25, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, thank you for your feed-back,
I'm absolutely not a payed, or editor or a friend. I m just exited about writing and editing my first article about a subject that had never existed on Wikipedia, so it was a chance for me. I was exited about being able to use templates and add pictures... All the information I wrote are from the references I mentioned. I first knew about Peter Stilton, after a google image search for some graphic design needs I made. In wikipedia, I had already just one very good contribution, by enriching a stub, but never creating. This first contribution, led me to correct some information that has been accepted, on wikipedia. So I coudn t wait to create my first own article. And by the way, I don t know why he is classified as a living person? ... I m still novice but enthusiastic. This is allowing me to learn. Many thanks,
Sahrayo (talk) 17:08, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your reply. Please explain how it is that you were able to get permission to upload all those photographs of his work, and release them under a CC 4.0 license, that basically gives away his copyrights and allows any other person to "Remix, transform, or build upon the images" into perpetuity? Netherzone (talk) 17:13, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I ve made a reseach, and found them in his website (Open for public), and that I mentioned in External links... While uploading the pictures, the date of creation were there. You can check that by your own. I just wanted to make a page similar to Christian Boltanski one(The source i Used). I was exited to make a gallery and have a wonderful article.
In Wikimedia Commons, and while uploading the painting pictures, I mentioned Peter Stilton website as a source.
Sahrayo (talk) 17:36, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Please be truthful, how were you able to obtain permission from the copyright owner or his heirs to upload his artwork, and release it from his copyright so that anyone can modify his work? Did you have permission from his estate to do that? Wikipedia takes copyright violations seriously. Netherzone (talk) 17:40, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I ve just had the permission to use the pictures through the email I sent and get answer from. The email mentioned on Peter Stilton website. peterstilton@tampabay.rr.com . Is that enough?
Sahrayo (talk) 19:46, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
It seems quite obvious for many reasons, not all of which I will go into here, that you are an undisclosed paid editor, who is a "marketing and strategic communications professional. It is really best to be open about your conflict of interest. Please be truthful. It is also obvious that you did not read any of the information nor links above regarding WP policies and guidelines on COI editing, and have not followed the guidance regarding copyrights and images. Netherzone (talk) 20:33, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I take my entire responsibility, by declaring that I m not payed. I just wanted to make a wonderful first article on wikipedia, as it seemed to me quite exiting to be once on the side on people who give birth the information rather than receive it. Especially on wikipedia... I admit that I had not read properly all the information and guidelines, but I can absolutely tell you that I m not payed. I had never created an article before! even not a stub. I only corrected some information for an already created pages...
I truly respect your concern, and the good news for me is that I see how trustworthy is the community, and that it s not that much easy to create a new article...

February 2023[edit]

Information icon

Hello Sahrayo. The nature of your edits, such as the one you made to Peter Stilton, gives the impression you have an undisclosed financial stake in promoting a topic, but you have not complied with Wikipedia's mandatory paid editing disclosure requirements. Paid advocacy is a category of conflict of interest (COI) editing that involves being compensated by a person, group, company or organization to use Wikipedia to promote their interests. Undisclosed paid advocacy is prohibited by our policies on neutral point of view and what Wikipedia is not, and is an especially serious type of COI; the Wikimedia Foundation regards it as a "black hat" practice akin to black-hat search-engine optimization.

Paid advocates are very strongly discouraged from direct article editing, and should instead propose changes on the talk page of the article in question if an article exists. If the article does not exist, paid advocates are extremely strongly discouraged from attempting to write an article at all. At best, any proposed article creation should be submitted through the articles for creation process, rather than directly.

Regardless, if you are receiving or expect to receive compensation for your edits, broadly construed, you are required by the Wikimedia Terms of Use to disclose your employer, client and affiliation. You can post such a mandatory disclosure to your user page at User:Sahrayo. The template {{Paid}} can be used for this purpose – e.g. in the form: {{paid|user=Sahrayo|employer=InsertName|client=InsertName}}. If I am mistaken – you are not being directly or indirectly compensated for your edits – please state that in response to this message. Otherwise, please provide the required disclosure. In either case, do not edit further until you answer this message. Netherzone (talk) 20:18, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm absolutely not payed and I don't know how to prove it? may be by sending you a screenshot of an email?... For sure I will not edit as I learned a lot through this first experience, I learned about sending a first draft for approval for example, I m really a novice who wanted to make a very good looking article, as my own first masterpiece. I even didn t know about the difference between a user name and a user page. I m learning a lot... I'm honestly and truly not paid. All the information in the article you can find them in the links. I m wainting for your instructions and I absolutely respect, follow and understand your guidlines.
Sahrayo (talk) 20:47, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Sahrayo, I know that this is an uncomfortable conversation to have, but you have voluntarily disclosed on your user talk page your real name, Yosra Sahraoui [1], which coincidentally happens to be the exact same name as a marketing and strategic communications professional in digital market access in the same part of Florida. I'm not saying that is you, but it is quite a coincidence wouldn't you say? Netherzone (talk) 22:10, 24 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Had I mentioned that I am a wikipedia Writer on my profile? Being a Marketing and communication manager doesn t make me want to market everything. It may influence my writing style I agree. I m a painter too. I m very sensitive to art and to humanitarian activities. I m learning data visualization online right now because I m a passionate of transmitting and making an information accessible. I ve coached people about communicating well their ideas too. All those things are not on my linkedIn or on my resume. I gave my name deliberately expecting of course that a research can be made. Are all the marketing and communication manager basically, does it forbit me to write an article on wikipedia? If you come back to the profile you checked you will find that I spent all my life almost outside of the USA. I can understand and respect your objectivity concern, but I swear and take all my responsibilities on it: i m not payed, and if it was the case , i would have promoted myself s a wikipedia editor' ... Do you thing that people with money or who know such interesting painter would relay and on a novice to write an article about someone they like? I don t know how to prove it?... You can delete whetever you feel inappropriate. Or suggest improvement if you want. But it would be a pity to punish the artist and put all the article out. I will not defend the page more than I did seeing that i m doing it for money. I m not able to prove the contrary unless if you send me an email where I can sent a screen shot that may save the situation. At the end, I m happy any way for having had this experience, I m just sorry for the artist that deserved to see the light. I truly liked the painting while doing researches. I truly respect and understand your concerns. I m still open for modifing the article if you decide to keep it under wiki conditions and terms of use. Otherwise, I will not loose a money that I had never have or been promised to have. Maybe i will miss a little pleasure of Accomplishment and of sharing... All my true respect

Thank you for your response and for confirming that you are not paid. However you do still have a Conflict of Interest WP:COI since you have been in touch with the person who manages the website for Peter Stilton and his work. Now that the copyright violations and the unsourced content have been removed, it is up to an administrator to decide if the article should stay or go. Copyright violations are a legal matter to be taken very seriously, but that seems to now be cleared up, as it seems the images have been deleted. If the article is retained, then as a COI editor you will need to use the "edit request system" described in the COI guidelines rather than editing the Peter Stilton article directly. (You can directly edit any article with which you do not have a COI.) I'm sorry that your entrance to WP has been a bumpy one, which is not unusal, but please understand that there is an enormous amount to learn about how things work here, and there are policies and guidelines to comply with -- because we are an encyclopedia, not social media or just a random website "anyone can edit". I realize that you did not know that when you created a biographic article. A biography is the most difficult task for an editor to do on the encyclopedia, and there are alot of "rules" to take into consideration. We usually advise new editor to start by making small corrections and improvements before diving in. Netherzone (talk) 00:24, 25 February 2023 (UTC)[reply]

If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Peter Stilton, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Peter Stilton moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Peter Stilton, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more in-depth coverage about the subject itself, with citations from reliable, independent sources in order to show it meets WP:GNG. It should have at least three. And please remember that interviews, as primary sources, do not count towards GNG.(?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page.Onel5969 TT me 23:25, 2 March 2023 (UTC)[reply]
