Wikipedia's technical logs indicate that this user account has been or may be used abusively. It has been blocked indefinitely from editing to prevent abuse.

Note that multiple accounts are allowed, but not for illegitimate reasons, and any contributions made while evading blocks or bans may be reverted or deleted.
If you think there are good reasons why you should be unblocked, you should review the guide to appealing blocks, and then appeal your block by adding the following text below this notice: {{unblock|Your reason here ~~~~}}. Note that anything you post in your unblock request will be public, so you may alternatively use the Unblock Ticket Request System to submit an appeal if it contains information that must be private.

Administrators: Checkusers have access to confidential system logs not accessible by the public or by administrators due to the Wikimedia Foundation's privacy policy. You must not loosen or remove this block, or issue an IP block exemption, without consulting with a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee. Administrators who undo checkuser blocks without permission from a checkuser or the Arbitration Committee may be summarily desysopped.

  • Hi - further to the above, I've raised a thread at WP:AN, asking for community review of these blocks. Girth Summit (blether) 12:09, 16 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Girth Summit, Salam (Hello). Since I am not good at English, I am writing to you via Google Translate. Therefore, there may be some inaccurate statements. I have been working on Wikipedia for more than 12 years. since 2011. I have an image on my user page and many images on Commons. I have participated in many wikipedia meetings. Almost all active users and admins of Azerbaijani Wikipedia know me. According to the number of edits, I am 22nd in the Azerbaijani Wikipedia. I am neither someone's puppet nor anyone is my puppet. As for the same IP issue. I have already disclosed on my user page that we shared the same IP with 7 users from August 21st to September 11th (ie about 3 weeks) for an ICT-related wikipedia project. This is not a secret. We have not hidden anything. We acted according to the rules. And all 7 users besides me have announced it on their user page. Finally, I should mention that I moved to Canada on September 22. Currently, I live in Toronto with my wife Ulviyya Karim. Now I don't understand why you blocked me. Samral (talk) 02:11, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I set out my concerns at the thread at WP:AN. In short, you were sharing an IP with a user who was topic-banned from the Armenia-Azerbaijan subject area, and subsequently blocked for evading that topic ban (Solavirum). Sharing an IP with someone is not necessarily a problem in and of itself, but in your 740 edits to this project, your editing overlaps with that of Solavirum at about thirty different pages, which raises suspicions of improper off-wiki coordination. Girth Summit (blether) 10:44, 17 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Girth Summit, I'm Azerbaijani. My homeland is Azerbaijan. Armenia is an enemy with Azerbaijan. Solavirum is also Azerbaijani and its homeland is Azerbaijan. Almost every Azeri is interested in the Armenian-Azerbaijani Nagorno-Karabakh conflict. And this thing also applies to Wikipedia. The history of Azerbaijan and issues related to Armenia and the Karabakh conflict are of interest to Solavirum, myself, and many other Azerbaijani Wikipedia users and readers. Don't you think there is something normal here? Do you know what is abnormal? You are blocked directly without giving me the right to defend myself. This is extrajudicial execution. You block and then start a discussion. The right thing to do is to prove something as a result of discussion and then prevent it. For example, you could at least respect my 12 years of Wikipedia experience and contribution. Samral (talk) 01:10, 18 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
I blocked you because I thought you were Solavirum - you were both editing out of the same IP address, using an indistinguishable device, and editing a large number of the same pages. It seems that there is some reasonable doubt as to whether or not you are the same person, but I am still faced with a bunch of accounts all editing from the same IP, and editing the same articles. That's suspicious on its own, but when we know that one of those accounts is topic banned from this subject area, that they have been blocked repeatedly for breaching that topic ban, and that they have evaded blocks by editing without logging in, and that they have used undeclared alt accounts in the past - I'm sorry, it's all just too much for me to overlook. In the interests of transparency I opened the thread at AN, but so far nobody seems to think that I have overstepped in imposing these blocks. Girth Summit (blether) 09:58, 19 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Girth Summit, Look. I say it again. Me, Solavirum, Nemoralis and 4 other users (Maqa001, Openheimer94, Ulviyya Karim, Vision User and Interland) have been taking part in the same project related to Wikipedia since August 21st. Project name: "WikiTeam for ICT". The aim of the project is to create, edit and etc. articles and templates on ICT in Azerbaijani Wikipedia. Regarding this project, we worked in the same place (Time Business Center) until September 11th. Regarding my migration to Canada, I left that place on September 11 and settled in Toronto, Canada on September 22 with my wife Ulviyya Karim. Currently, the other 6 users (Solavirum, Nemoralis, Maqa001, Openheimer94, Vision User and Interland) are still using the same IP because they are working in the same location on this project. I repeat again: When the project started (August 21), we all already stated on our user pages that we were using the same IP for this project. (My wife Ulviyya Karim left the project completely on September 11, but I continue to work on the project remotely) Don't you think it is normal that we edit the same or similar articles because we are working on the same project? Samral (talk) 03:04, 20 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Girth Summit, You did not reply to my last message. Samral (talk) 07:20, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
No, I didn't, I've been busy. The articles you have been editing on Wikipedia that I am concerned about, and where you overlap with Solavirum, are not related to ICT; I don't see why working together on an ICT project would cause you to edit lots of articles that are covered by Solavirum's topic ban. Now, I have put this to the community at AN; it did not attract a great deal of comment, but the two comments I did receive were supportive of the block. You are at liberty still to request unblock, and an uninvolved checkuser will assess the situation independently. Girth Summit (blether) 12:04, 25 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Girth Summit, hi. Won't you unblock me? Look, I still don't understand clearly why you blocked me. The reason is that I edit the same articles about Karabakh or Armenia-Azerbaijan with some other azeri users. If you look at other active azeri users, these topics are the area of interest of almost all azeri users. It's not fair for you to block me for such a reason. Look, I have been an active Wikipedia user for 12 years. I have been living in Canada for 2 months. Samral (talk) 15:13, 22 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
@Wham2001, hi. Can you please help me in this matter? Samral (talk) 22:45, 17 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Unfortunately, no, I can't. I'm not an admin, and, per my comments at AN, I don't think that you should be unblocked. Girth Summit has outlined your options for requesting an unblock above. Wham2001 (talk) 14:27, 18 December 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hi Girth Summit, I am one of the contact persons of Azerbaijani Wikimedians User Group and I know both Solavirum and Samral personally. They attended many our offline wiki-events, including user group meetups and wiki camps several times, and you can find photos of them on Commons. So blocking them for sockpuppetry is not correct I think. As I know they were working together in one project and that's why their IP's were the same for a short period of time, as starting from September 2023 Samral left Azerbaijan and now he lives in Canada, which also can be easily checked. I hope this information can somehow help in unblocking him. Best!--Wertuose (talk) 10:00, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
I can say that Samral is not the same person as other users. The block reason should be another not sockpuppet. --eldarado 06:34, 20 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]
