If you think that this notice was placed here in error, you may contest the deletion by adding {{hangon}} to the top of the page that has been nominated for deletion (just below the existing speedy deletion or "db" tag), coupled with adding a note on the talk page explaining your position, but be aware that once tagged for speedy deletion, if the article meets the criterion it may be deleted without delay. Proposed deletion of Pirthipur Una

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Pirthipur Una, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process. All contributions are appreciated, but this article may not satisfy Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion, and the deletion notice should explain why (see also "What Wikipedia is not" and Wikipedia's deletion policy). You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{dated prod}} notice, but please explain why you disagree with the proposed deletion in your edit summary or on its talk page.

Please consider improving the article to address the issues raised because even though removing the deletion notice will prevent deletion through the proposed deletion process, the article may still be deleted if it matches any of the speedy deletion criteria or it can be sent to Articles for Deletion, where it may be deleted if consensus to delete is reached. Please remember to mark your edits as minor if (and only if) they genuinely are minor edits (see Help:Minor edit). Marking a major change as a minor one is considered poor etiquette. The rule of thumb is that only an edit that consists solely of spelling corrections, formatting changes, or rearranging of text without modifying content should be flagged as a 'minor edit.' [edit]

Thank you for contributing the article on Falgu Tirath. I am sorry that you thought that I was trying to destroy the essence of the article - it was certainly not my intention to damage the article. I have left a comment discussing my concerns with the article, and the reasoning behind my edits, on its talk page here. Best wishes Jll (talk) 22:16, 1 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Your comments are very good since the article does not clarify regarding the village or temple or what. Tirath means holy pilgrimage and Falgu is a village wherehindus go on pilgrimage to do Pind Daans. The Pind Daans are offering made by Hindus to liberate their forefathers of any sins made and to have their blessings. The second reference basically relates to the ceremony of the Pind Daan. Proposed deletion of Guru-da-Gaddi

[edit]

A proposed deletion template has been added to the article Guru-da-Gaddi, suggesting that it be deleted according to the proposed deletion process.

KCinDC (talk) 17:17, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Can you start the article off with "Guru-da-Gaddi is..." and explain what it is? Is it a festival or a person or what? —KCinDC (talk) 17:21, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Guru-da-Gaddi is an important occasion of Sikh Religion. This is very very important time when the tenth Guru had stated that the next Guru is the Holy Sikh Book "Guru Granth sahib". I don't feel such an artcile should be deleted. Rest is Wikipedia policy. It is recommended that Sikh Scholars may be consulted on the subject. I am proud that I tried to create an article on the subject.Sanjivkumarsharma (talk) 17:38, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

It certainly sounds like a topic worthy of an article, and I meant no disrespect. The article needs to be written in such a way that it explains what Guru-da-Gaddi is. It can be started as a stub without going into great detail or requiring a scholar. Just start with a sentence or two at the beginning explaining what it is. —KCinDC (talk) 17:43, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]
It seems strange that something so important would not be mentioned in the Sikhism article. —KCinDC (talk) 17:47, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I am also not able to understand the above. But you can very well understand that today, the day of start of celebrations, has been declared a holiday by Governments of Indian state of Punjab, Haryana and Union Territory of Chandigarh. Sanjivkumarsharma (talk) 18:17, 20 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

I think it should be deleted because many educated men in India are yet to be connected to net/wikipedia and also it basically enlarges the scope of article by the title of khalsa. Sanjivkumarsharma (talk) 18:23, 22 October 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:Siri-Guru-Granth-300-Anniv.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:Siri-Guru-Granth-300-Anniv.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Stifle (talk) 17:09, 5 December 2008 (UTC)[reply]

Bitumin Grades

[edit]

{{tl:helpme}}I have observed that someone has redirected the new page Grades of Bitumin to Bitumin. I wanted to add some information in the same which is useful for engineers and as such the page should be separate. The details of the various specifications of different grades of bitumin used in paving are available in the site http://www.bharatpetroleum.com/business/specialities_Bitumen.asp?from=bus. No information on this is available in wikipedia. The topic is of specific use for the engineers. What to do.Sanjivkumarsharma (talk) 11:42, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Hello. I redirected your page because it didn't appear to have enough material to warrant an article. It's great to see that you are willing to add such material, but may I suggest that you add it as a section on the main Bitumen page? That page is looking quite bare and could certainly use some attention! If the information is indeed to substantial, then it will be much easier to split it when it is complete. :) » \ / () 11:43, 4 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Why the Pages are being deleted Unnecessarily

[edit]

I have developed a feeling that the wikipedia is not having administrators who understand the needs and requirements of South Asian People. They are having knowledge of Americas only. That's why they are deleting the pages without understanding the issues involved. What to do. {{helpme}}. Please no comments that it's wikipedia policy. It needs to be throughly researched. Sanjivkumarsharma (talk) 17:23, 18 February 2009 (UTC)[reply]

There is no bias here whatsoever. There is, however, certain minimum requirements for inclusion. WP:NOTABILITY can tell you what you need to know. In a nutshell, articles about schools below the high school level are generally considered non-notable. The site was being overrun at one time with vaguely written articles about elementary schools and as such, it became an administrative nightmare to keep up with the influx. Unless you can prove via reliable outside sources that this particular school is notable, it simply doesn't meet the qualifications for inclusion. Thanks. --PMDrive1061 (talk) 17:11, 3 March 2009 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Villages of Himachal Pradesh, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because it is a very short article that does not provide sufficient context to identify its subject. Please see Wikipedia:Stub for our minimum information standards for short articles. Also please note that articles must be on notable subjects and should provide references to reliable sources that verify their content.

Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself. If you plan to expand the article, you can request that administrators wait a while for you to add contextual material. To do this, affix the template {{hangon}} to the article and state your intention on the article's talk page. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. Notification: changes to "Mark my edits as minor by default" preference

[edit]

Hello there. This is an automated message to tell you about the gradual phasing out of the preference entitled "Mark all edits minor by default", which you currently have (or very recently had) enabled.

On 13 March 2011, this preference was hidden from the user preferences screen as part of efforts to prevent its accidental misuse (consensus discussion). This had the effect of locking users in to their existing preference, which, in your case, was true. To complete the process, your preference will automatically be changed to false in the next few days. This does not require any intervention on your part and you will still be able to manually mark your edits as being 'minor'. The only thing that's changed is that you will no longer have them marked as minor by default.

For established users such as yourself there is a workaround available involving custom JavaScript. If you are familiar with the contents of WP:MINOR, and believe that it is still beneficial to the encyclopedia to have all your edits marked as such by default, then this discussion will give you the details you need to continue with this functionality indefinitely. If you have any problems, feel free to drop me a note.

Thank you for your understanding and happy editing :) Editing on behalf of User:Jarry1250, LivingBot (talk) 19:31, 14 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
