Re: Spinies[edit]

I wrote:
Message from User:SaturnYoshi regarding Spinies. Paper Mario: TTYD does not specifically state that Spinies are Koopas. Only that they belong to the Koopa Tribe. It could then be argued that EVERY enemy in Super Mario Bros. belongs to said tribe. Meanwhile, the official guide for the New Super Mario Bros. from Nintendo Power groups Spinies with Buzzy Beetles and Spike Tops, therefor classifying Spinies as beetles. Sorry for posting this directly on your page, I had no other way to contact you.

First, I want to point out that if you want to contact someone, you do it on the discussion page for their user page. That's what they're there for. Editing the user page itself can be seen as vandalism. Just for future reference. ;) And you can sign it with four tildes in a row - a tilde is that wavy thing ~
Now then, PMTTYD calls Spinies "spike-covered Koopas" in addition to "members of the Koopa tribe. They have never been described as beetles (I've checked the manuals and scripts of the Tattles for both Paper Marios), nor have Buzzys been called turtles. ...Unless it says that in the NSMB guide. I didn't buy it. Just how are they "grouped"? Is it divided into sections, or is Spiny just next to the beetles? Agent CH 01:46, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote:
The player's guide for New Super Mario Bros. groups all the games enemies under different headlines. For example, "The Goomba Gang" consists of the Goomba, Paragoomba and the Mini Goomba. "Koopa Troopers" lists the red and green Koopa Troopas and their Paratroopa variants. Buzzy Beetle, Spike Top and Spiny are all listed under the heading "Beastly Beetles". -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 02:44, 17 June 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Hmm. Be that as it may, they were called Koopas in-game, and last I checked, information given within the fiction itself trumps other sources in terms of canonicity. Agent CH 16:19, 17 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote:
The actual wording used in Paper Mario: TTYD in the Tattle Log states that they are spike-backed "members" of the Koopa Tribe. I checked the game myself. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 00:58, 18 June 2006 (UTC).[reply]

Ah, but when Goombella is actually Tattling a Spiny, she says it's a spike-covered Koopa. Agent CH 03:01, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote:
Well, I'll leave it at that. It's just that the Spiny and the Buzzy Beetle have a lot of similar characteristics both physical and how they act. Such as crawling on ceilings. I won't stop researching the matter, though, and I hope that this will be clarified in the near future. So for now, I'll just go by what Goombella says. Also, the Buzzy Beetle page says that they are related to Koopas, so wouldn't that render this whole argument pointless? Now the question is, Are Buzzies related to Koopas?? -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 06:39, 18 June 2006 (UTC).[reply]

I'm not sure where that would come from, aside from the whole shell thing. While checking info for Spiny, I also checked for Buzzy Beetle info (manuals, Tattles, even Player's Guides just in case), and none of them said they are Koopas, or related to them. Agent CH 14:03, 18 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Re: Voice actors[edit]

I wrote:
I noticed that you feel that listing the voice actor for Kirby is not pointless. If knowing Kirby's voice actor important, then why not the voice actors for Mario, Link, Pikachu and maybe even Wario and Snake? It's just a thought, though maybe that's why Comrade Pajitnov felt the need to delete it from Kirby's section. Anyway, I'd like to know what you think. Take care. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 21:34, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I think they should all have them, but Kirby is the only profile I wrote, and it takes a lot of watching to remove all of the awful writing. I wrote some pretty good writing, and came back a week later, and the quality was awful! I'm just not vigilant enough to sit on all the bios. Cheers, Highway Rainbow Sneakers 20:52, 29 June 2006 (UTC)[reply]
New subject:
I just noticed that you had put Jennifer Hale's name back in Samus Aran's article; I had put it there myself several weeks ago, but it's been removed several times. I now understand why; Wikipedia's rules doesn't allow itself to be used as a source unless the page in question has cited material, and her article doesn't have any citations at all. In addition, the lists on the Bastila Shan and IMDb links all appear to be the same lists, and I know from personal experience that IMDb is user submission just like Wikipedia and can't exactly be proven as verifiable in this case. The only truly verifiable links in her article, her personal webpage and Voice Chasers, don't list the Metroid games in her credits. As such, really the only way of proving she was Samus's voice is a separate site related to her directly, like an agent site, or an article about her in print. Which leads to my question; you said there was an article in Game Informer about her? Arrow 18:36, 9 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My reply:
The article I'm refering to in Game Informer is titled "Behind the Mic" (Issue 161, Sept 2006 pg. 18). It features Jennifer Hale and another voice actor (Cam Clarke). A box in the middle of the page lists "notable game roles" and the Metroid Prime series is listed saying that she did voice Samus Aran in those games. I'm also going to request a complete list of her works from her website if this isn't proof enough. Hopefully it'll have what I'm after. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 00:13, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Ah; that helps. In the meantime, perhaps you can make mention of that on the Samus Aran talk page, with a link I found to that article online (despite the fact that only people with a current subscription to the magazine can see that link) and explain that the information does exist. That may quiet people for the time being and allow us to put her name in for good. Arrow 00:22, 10 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Welcome to Esperanza![edit]

Welcome, SaturnYoshi, to Esperanza! As you might know, all the Esperanzians share one important goal: the success of this encyclopedia. Within that, we then attempt to strengthen the community bonds, and be the "approachable" side of the project. All of our ideals are held in the Charter, the governing document of the association.

Now that you are a member you should read the guide to what to do now or you may be interested in some of our programs. A quite important program is Stressbusters, which seeks to support editors who have encountered any stress from their Wikipedia events, and are seeking to leave the project. So far, Esperanza can be credited with the support and retention of several users. We will send you newsletters to keep you up to date. Also, we have a calendar of special events, member birthdays, and other holidays that you can add to and follow.

In addition to these projects, several more missions of Esperanza are in development, and are currently being created at Esperanza/Proposals.

If you have any other questions, concerns, comments, or general ideas, Esperanzian or otherwise, know that you can always contact Natalya by email or talk page. Consider introducing yourself at the Esperanza talk page! Alternatively, you could communicate with fellow users via our IRC channel, #wikipedia-esperanza (which is also good for a fun chat or two :). If you're new to IRC, you may find help at an IRC tutorial. I thank you for joining Esperanza, and look forward to working with you in making Wikipedia a better place to work!

September Esperanza Newsletter[edit]

Program Feature: Barnstar Brigade
Here in Wikipedia there are hundreds of wikipedians whose work and efforts go unappreciated. One occasionally comes across editors who have thousands of good edits, but because they may not get around as much as others, their contributions and hard work often go unnoticed. As Esperanzians we can help to make people feel appreciated, be it by some kind words or the awarding of a Barnstar. This is where the Barnstar Brigade comes in. The object of this program is to seek out the people which deserve a Barnstar, and help them feel appreciated. With your help, we can recognize more dedicated editors!
What's New?
September elections are upon us! Anyone wishing to be a part of the Advisory Council may list themselves as a candidate from 18 September until 24 September, with the voting taking place from 25 September to 30 September. Those who wish to help with the election staff should also list themselves!
Appreciation Week, a program currently in development, now has its own subpage! Share your good ideas on how to make it awesome there!
The Esperanza front page has been redesigned! Many thanks to all who worked hard on it.
Many thanks to MiszaBot, courtesy of Misza13, for delivering the newsletter.
 1. The proposals page has been updated, with some proposals being archived.
 2. Since the program in development Appretiaion week is getting lots of good ideas, it now has its own subpage.

Although having the newsletter appear on everyone's userpage is desired, this may not be ideal for everyone. If, in the future, you wish to receive a link to the newsletter, rather than the newsletter itself, you may add yourself to Wikipedia:Esperanza/Newsletter/Opt Out List.

MK: Armageddon discussion page[edit]

Hi. I can understand why you've reverted the MK:A talk page (As I have been doing), but Armageddon Fan is not taking notice of editor's summaries. Instead of a summary, I had left him a note on the page, with the intention of removing the section after some time had passed, but you have removed it after one minute. Do you have any alternatives in passing the information on to this user? RobWill80 14:55, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Edit: Actually, you're right. It's probably easier to just keep removing his edits. Sorry for taking up your time. :) RobWill80 15:39, 23 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I wrote:
Don't worry about taking up my time. I'm here to help in any way I can. If you ever run into any more problems again, feel free to ask. And if I do not know the answer, I'll do my best to find out. As far as Armageddon Fan, I suggest placing a warning on his talk page. If that doesn't work, and he is still using talk pages as forums, then we hay have to involve an Admin. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 00:31, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for your help. EVula has already given him an advisory warning on his talk page, but I'll have to look up the procedure before I could issue one myself. We'll see how it goes. :) RobWill80 02:54, 24 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hey[edit]

I hate to bother you, but I just joined Esperanza too, and I'm wondering how I change my sig so the "e" (or "yoshi" :P) in my name so when I type something in I won't keep having to type it all out. I've seen you can on Help pages but I can never find in anywhere in the preferences.
You might know me as the guy who kept posting the charts and fourth-gen on Legendary Pokémon. DarknessLord 00:45, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My reply:
Darkness<span style="color:green">Lord</span>

Copy this signature and put it in place of your signature under preferences. Click on "raw signature" and save. If you want to change the color of the word "Darkness" put a <span style="color:color"> before it and a </span> after it. The word color in quotes is where you would pick the color you want. Make sure you keep the quotation marks.

Example: If you wanted the word "Darkness" to be black, this would be your signature...
<span style="color:black">Darkness</span><span style="color:green">Lord</font

And it would look like this: DarknessLord

One more thing[edit]

At an entirely different meaning than my last, the evolutions of Aipom, Murkrow, and Misdreavus have been confirmed at serebii.net DarknessLord 10:51, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

And thank you for the update on Pokémon! -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 21:25, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Your welcome. DarknessLord | T | C 22:35, 29 September 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Now the evolutions of Togetic, the two other evolutions of Eevee, Gligar, a branch of Kirlia, and Rhydon have been confirmed at same site.
Also, an evolution of Snorunt, which forms another branching, is also confirmed. DarknessLord | T | C 21:59, 1 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Oh my god. Now Tangela, Lickitung, Piloswine, and Yanma evo's have been confirmed. I think that sprite sheet WAS right. DarknessLord | T | C 13:05, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Ayayay. Dusclops evo. 'Nuff said. DarknessLord | T | C 23:38, 2 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
Well, you already know, but... Magmar evo, Magneton evo, and Nosepass evo.
Gee, I guess they realized the fan's complaints with so many pre-evo's that they decided to overload on the evo's. This is my final update (probably), DarknessLord | T | C 23:57, 3 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Response
Thank you again. It seems that every Pokémon has been named and confirmed now. It kind of sucks that there is no Jynx evo, though. I think that would be kind of cool. If I were to create one. I would name her Mynx and have her look even more like a woman. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 00:25, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My reply to your post on my talk page: ((Thank you for posting above the template.)) Yah. I was surprised. Jynx, Magmar, and Electabuzz have always been "together", getting pre-evo's in the same version. Interesting look. I can't really think of one. DarknessLord | T | C 00:31, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]
All that time anticipating a Magmar evolution (you have to have LeafGreen attatched to your DS to get Magby and Magmar), and the game it requires is the only main GBA Pokemon game I don't have! DarknessLord | T | C 00:55, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

My reply:
You don't have XD either? Magmar can be captured there, too. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 01:09, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

Hm... all the association with the GameCube games I have is that I've rented Collo, traded new guys into my game, and traded old guys out. Ah well, I'm probably just gonna GameShark it to the Pal Park.
U know, I have been thinking up some theories, and, this is probably obvious, but... I think they're making Gold and Silver remakes in-between the third gem and Diamond and Pearl, like they did the Red/Blue remakes in between Emerald, and Ruby and Sapphire. I wrote:
I'll probably use an Action Replay to get Manaphy (and any other Nintendo Sponsored Event Pokémon) just because they never come close to where I live in the States. I know, I'm a bad trainer for cheating but how else do they expect me to obtain Mew, Celebi and Deoxys. I have at least one of each of the current 386 stored in my Pokémon Box. Also, I've been waiting forever for them to redo the Johto games. I'm sure there are plenty of fans out there that want them too. Here's hoping for a positive outlook on the Johto series to be the next instalments. -SaturnYoshi THE VOICES 18:54, 4 October 2006 (UTC)[reply]

I only have a GameShark for the SP, which does not work well since then I can't get Arseus, Darkrai, Shyem, and Manaphy (and thus Fione). Wel, before I got FireRed I was just entering the codes for Poke's I wanted; Cloyster, Steelix, Scizor, Scyther, Haunter, Magmar, Electabuzz, Legendaries, etc. for Ruby and Sapphire, which had virtually NO way to get any Pokemon from Kanto or Johto. I have this severe glitch in my game where actually catching a Pokemon (even Level 2), would be as rare as a Shiny! And each Pokemon I catch just makes it harder. After I got my third on that list, it was nearly impossible, so I tried a Master Ball... AND IT DIDN'T WORK! Augh, that annoys me. But I've been much luckier in my other games.
