Thank You

Thank you for your warm welcome. I will try only to make high quality edits. Calypso Joe (talk) 02:51, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome, Calypso. I'm part of the Welcoming committee, and I try to greet as many newcomers as I can. I saw that your talk page hasn't been created yet, even though you made constructive edits. You also might have read the helpful guidelines and policies; but I decided to add a welcome template to your discussion page. Regards! SchfiftyThree 02:55, 1 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for reverting vandalism[1] on my userpage. --SMS Talk 00:10, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

San Diego page

Hey sorry about the editing on the Padres page a couple of days back, my friends are idiots and take their baseball rivalries too seriously. —Preceding unsigned comment added by 76.89.148.50 (talk) 21:37, 22 April 2008 (UTC)

  • I'll have to see about that. I'm currently in post-secondary school, and I'll have to check my schedule. If I'm not there, that's okay ;) SchfiftyThree 21:08, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Just so you're aware

User:SpengbabAnnihilation, a sockpuppet of someone who regularly vandalizes the Mustafa Kemal Ataturk page, is using a copy-paste of your userpage as his own. Though you might want to know. Kafka Liz (talk) 22:17, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

Wow, I didn't notice that until you left the message. Thanks! SchfiftyThree 22:22, 23 April 2008 (UTC)

RE: Just one quick question...

See here. Just scroll down until you get to the end of the wide left box. 21655 ωhατ δo γoυ ωαητ? 13:33, 27 April 2008 (UTC)

Re:Leaving?

Firstly, I was only semiretired. I didn't have the time to vandalfight anymore, and I knew jacksquat about writing articles. But then someone taught me, and now I'm good. 21655 ταλκ/01ҁ 16:58, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

That's good. Back in March this year, I put the semi-retired message on my userpage, but eventually came back into editing. I usually revert vandalism without automated software, like Twinkle or Huggle, but later I might get them. SchfiftyThree 17:04, 6 May 2008 (UTC)

This user...

has too many userboxes :P --RadioElectric (talk) 21:50, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Oh well. I'll remove some in the near future... ;) SchfiftyThree 21:53, 7 May 2008 (UTC)

Re: RFPP

Hey there. That user has been blocked indef, so unless there are more vandals on my userpage I think I'll be OK. If it does start to get bad, I'll request a semi. Thanks for the suggestion, Juliancolton Tropical Cyclone 22:55, 13 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Thanks for the barnstar. It was much appreciated. Epbr123 (talk) 22:34, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome! :D SchfiftyThree 22:35, 14 May 2008 (UTC)

Hello again. The Highly Active Users project has gone through a complete revamping per popular demand. We believe this new format will make it easier for new editors to find assistance. However, with the new format, I must again ask you to verify your information on this page. I attempted to translate the data from the old version to the new, but with the extensive changes, I may have made some errors. Thanks again. Useight (talk) 03:54, 16 May 2008 (UTC)

Find Me?

How did u find me?--GREENZzBoii (talk) 19:34, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

There is a special page that allows people to see new accounts that have recently been created. I'm also part of the Welcome Committee, a group of users who greet newcomers. I certainly do hope you can find your way well around here, but thanks for asking! SchfiftyThree 19:37, 25 May 2008 (UTC)

MOS

Hiya. You're welcome to tell people about the extra redirect, WP:MANUAL, but the style on guidelines and policy pages these days is only to put the one or two most popular and well-known shortcuts in the shortcut box. - Dan Dank55 (talk)(mistakes) 23:36, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Whenever I find a shortcut, I add it to the list of shortcuts for that page, but thanks for the advice. SchfiftyThree 23:39, 29 May 2008 (UTC)
I was surprised not to see any guidance on this at the shortcut guidelines page, so I started a conversion. Please feel free to join; I've only noticed people caring 3 or 4 times, so the guidelines should probably say something one way or the other. - Dan Dank55 (talk)(mistakes) 23:58, 29 May 2008 (UTC)

Thanks!

Thanks for the barnstar. I sooo love getting shiny stuff!! ;) btw, I've been seeing you around too, and after looking at your contribs, you definitely deserve this: Thingg 19:03, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Wow. You've been doing a lot of vandalism reversions lately. (and you reverted on my user page!!! :-D) Thanks much for all your hard work keeping Wikipedia clear of vandalism. Thingg 19:03, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks! I'll also post this on my userpage under the Awards section. -- SchfiftyThree 19:06, 1 June 2008 (UTC)

Hello yet again. I regretfully inform you that the bot we were using to update the user status at Wikipedia:Highly Active Users, SoxBot V, was blocked for its constant updating. With this bot out of operation, a patch is in the works. Until that patch is reviewed and accepted by the developers, some options have been presented to use as workarounds: 1) Qui monobook (not available in Internet Explorer); 2) User:Hersfold/StatusTemplate; 3) Manually updating User:StatusBot/Status/USERNAME; or 4) Not worry about it and wait for the patch to go through, which hopefully won't take long. If you have another method, you can use that, too. If you have any questions, feel free to contact me. Useight (talk) 17:41, 3 June 2008 (UTC)

Re:CSD G7

Hi - sorry about that; Huggle is supposed to warn me about that, but anyway, my fault, and thanks for the heads-up. Vishnava talk 15:15, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

No problem. I've been here for over 2 years, and know a little about this stuff ;) -- SchfiftyThree 15:16, 10 June 2008 (UTC)

Something for you

The RickK Anti-Vandalism Barnstar
Nice spot on John Degnan. Wikipedia is a better place because of contributors like you. I have already filed a 3RR report on the editor, can't revert anymore myself without approaching 3RR. MrPrada (talk) 00:48, 14 June 2008 (UTC)
Thanks! SchfiftyThree 00:49, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Re:reverts

Hello Schfifty, Most reverts are extremely obvious. Someone replaces a a block of test with "kjdkjsdkfd". That gets reverted with a half-second's thought. If I'm unsure about a strange edit I pull up the full page and look at the history to see if there is any rational behind the changes. Admittedly, there is a fuzzy line between simple reverts and vandalism reverts. That just depends on how much mischief was being done or how many times they've done similar things. Was there a particular revert you had a question about? I'll gladly cleanup any goof I've made. Ld100 (talk) 23:42, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

Not really. I was viewing the With a Little Help from My Friends article (which I'm listening to right now), and then the edit got reverted. It wasn't a mistake, and I asked that question just for free. John and George both are dead as a fact (a lot of people know that!). SchfiftyThree 23:45, 14 June 2008 (UTC)

thank you

Hi - your barnstar means more to me than one may think - I've been saddened lately by a few mistakes I've made in doing this, and although they are a minuscule of my overall work and I always apologize, I've had doubts about my ability to do RC patrol. Thank you for raising my spirits, and please let me know if you find me screwing up. Vishnava talk 03:55, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome. I've been watching that vandal's contributions who vandalised the Tim Thomas (basketball) article. Right when I saw [rollback] after he replaced the content with a negative word, I immediately clicked it, but it turned out that you beat me. That's why I gave you the award. ;) SchfiftyThree 03:59, 15 June 2008 (UTC)

What to do next

Hello I've seen you're also reverting edits by 75.181.35.20 , it's happened 3 times now, what is one supposed to do next? (I'm new, you may have gathered!) ... how does one report them? Helenginn (talk) 18:52, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

For me, if the user has had more than three warnings, I would report them to WP:AIV. It's a page where Wikipedians report vandals for administrators to deal with. SchfiftyThree 18:57, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Wow, you're fast. I tried to revert the weasel one too and you caught me out twice! ;) Helenginn (talk) 19:13, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Yeah, well, it's my job to revert vandalism. I don't even use software like Twinkle or Huggle but I might soon. SchfiftyThree 19:15, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

No need to post, already unprotected. · AndonicO Engage. 19:03, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks. My talk page has mainly been the target of vandalism in my userspace. SchfiftyThree 19:04, 16 June 2008 (UTC)
Side effect of huggle: don't like it, than don't use it. I personally like it, it keeps the counter on my userpage ticking. ;) · AndonicO Engage. 19:23, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Re: Archiving

Yeah, I know... I just never seem to get to it. Will do after this "vandal reverting spree" (By the way, thanks for reverting that IP on my talk page). RedThunder 19:49, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

You're welcome. I actually didn't know that you were formerly Stormtracker94 until I noticed the message at the top. SchfiftyThree 19:51, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Was??

Aber meine Hose!!! Greeeek (talk) 22:13, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

I don't know what that means, but I reverted your edit on the Frankfurt article because a lot of stuff was deleted. -- SchfiftyThree 22:15, 16 June 2008 (UTC)

Thanks

Yes, Huggle definitely does speed things up, especially when dealing with repeat vandals. Thank you for the barnstar :) Gail (talk) 18:22, 17 June 2008 (UTC)
