Read the Native American article. The term is inclusive covering all of North and South America, while First Nations is exclusive, covering only Canada. Therefore she is both. Yworo (talk) 14:15, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

In addition, she is Cree, a nation which spans and is independent of both US and Canada. Yworo (talk) 14:19, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I don't really get this distinction either, but the people who argue about this from the Canadian side insist on "First Nations." This is apparently how the categories are set up. But ah well, I won't quibble about this. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 16:46, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
I'm sure they are probably perfectly right for tribes contained completely in one country or the other. :-) Yworo (talk) 18:16, 2 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks[edit]

Thanks for catching my mistake. I was trying to NPOV the recent addition to article, but I have no attachment to my version. If you think it needs further modification, do please make any changes you think are best. Many thanks, --TeaDrinker (talk) 05:51, 4 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Linda Pascotto[edit]

Hi, I see you nominated this article for deletion. I agree the subject is not notable, but would not the prod blp tag, found here [[1]] be more appropriate to a living biography? I see it allows 10 days for sources to be found. Rumiton (talk) 05:03, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That one is only for BLPs without any refs or evidence; besides, if you manage to find sources, you can add them at any time, the AfD doesn't prevent you from doing that. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 05:06, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Yes, but this article appears to currently have no sources at all, and the normal AfD tag only allows 7 days until deletion. Anyway, no problem. Rumiton (talk) 05:57, 9 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Nabahat Khan (disambiguation)[edit]

It's 1:40 here in the East, so I'm perhaps sleepy enough that I'm simply misunderstanding you, but...your message confuses me. Where do "me," "my father", "my uncle," and "my brother" come in? I can't find them anywhere in any past revision. Nyttend (talk) 06:42, 12 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks for leaving a reason[edit]

On the Stormtrooper (Star Wars) edit, I was getting a little P*ssed off because User:TheRealFennShysa was not leaving any reason of why my edits were or were not appropriate they were just reverted without explanation, I thought he/she/they were trolling to an edit war, In fact I was just about report them in the Edit War noticeboard. I thought it was a notable cultural reference but apparently not. Thanks again. 71.101.84.191 (talk) 14:49, 17 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

You take it to AFD if you don't like it.[edit]

It's real. Deal. Cheers! Merrill Stubing (talk) 04:42, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

There is no speedy here. You take it to AFD if you think it's not notable. Do you not see sources?? I don't have time or skill to write something complex but saw a hole in cover. Merrill Stubing (talk) 04:44, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Normally I would not comment on someone else's edit, but the game is notable and should not be deleted. However, the article is horrible. Kevinmontalktrib 04:46, 18 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Content dispute[edit]

I appreciate your revert of User:79.97.92.28 to We're New Here, but he's made an unexplained reversal of that change, and while I've opened up to him commenting at the article's talk page to settle this the proper way, I don't count on it. Would you like to add to the article's talk page, or help out in case the dude starts constituting vandalism? Dan56 (talk) 02:23, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

I do have it watchlisted; while I don't know enough about the topic to take a stance, I agree that his conduct and his only "contributions" to the discussion ("Don't be so precious.") aren't acceptable. Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 03:35, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Would you like to add your two cents to this discussion regarding the article's content? Dan56 (talk) 17:43, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Ben Shelly's Political Affiliation[edit]

I noticed that you reverted my recent edit to the Ben Shelly article regarding his affiliation with the Democratic Party on grounds that Navajo Nation elections are non-partisan, and I would like to propose a possible compromise which I have seen used in similar Wikipedia articles in which both the person's political party affiliation, and the office's officially non-partisan status are mentioned in the article. --TommyBoy (talk) 04:56, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

That could be a possibilty; note that I have not taken out party-affiliation for those who are also state senators or the like (for example Lynda Lovejoy). I just want to give some clear indication that Navajo Nation elections are tied to the person, not any party, which does have an impact on the way politics plays out (for better or worse). Can you show me an example article? Choyoołʼįįhí:Seb az86556 > haneʼ 05:03, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Retracing my steps on Wikipedia, I found an example of what I am proposing in the article on now-former Dallas, Texas Mayor Tom Leppert in which it mentions both that Leppert is a Republican, and that the office of Mayor of Dallas, Texas is officially non-partisan. Please feel free to contact me with any further comments or questions regarding my proposal. --TommyBoy (talk) 07:41, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your input, I have gone ahead and implemented my proposal with respect to the Ben Shelly article. --TommyBoy (talk) 08:09, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Eman al-Obaidi‎[edit]

Thanks for the notice. I agree that the policy of Wikipedia is not having an article about every rape case. But I think she received larger coverage than an average case. It was enough important that the deputy foreign minister and the government spokesman made a statement which does not happen in every case. Look at http://www.nytimes.com/2011/03/27/world/middleeast/27tripoli.html . Have a nice weekend & Regards -- Youssef (talk) 13:27, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Iran Software & Hardware Co. (NOSA)[edit]

I'm a bit unclear on your !vote at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Iran Software & Hardware Co. (NOSA). What disposition of the article do you advocate? It sounds like keep, but it's vague enough that I don't want to misinterpret. —C.Fred (talk) 18:18, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Actually, never mind. A user in good standing advocates deletion, so a speedy keep is off the table. —C.Fred (talk) 18:21, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
Hello, I don't understand why you reverted my last edit, this user is on a personal attack against me after I gave him a couple of warnings for bad edits in wikipedia persian, in which time he attacked me personally, his user was banned, first for 2 hours, then 1 month, then 3 months. he made new user names and went after pages i have built. his known users so far are

PERSIAN KNIGHT 2012
PSOILFHJFHFDF
Asjdirkfjhvciocui
94.182.108.127
Ajlakdjdklajskldaaa
KACLLSJSHDHDH
POLICJHSSHSAAAA

I have no problem discussing the merits of the article, the following company is a very well know company in Iran with more than enough sources and links, however in your revert.. you have also reverted his removal of all links and references, making the article a lot less notable. this is a personal attack from a known user with bad standing against me, if you wish to entertain it, sure, but at least set the article to its original state and add the tags.. Thank you very much :)  Rmzadeh  ►  21:01, 26 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

DYK for Indian rolling[edit]

HJ Mitchell | Penny for your thoughts? 00:03, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Indian rolling[edit]

I am appalled by the whole thing!

However... Here in Australia we have had a culture of Poofter bashing. And as I lived for many years in a suburb with a great many gay men and a couple of great gay pubs, I used to witness the regular invasion of young men who considered themselves tough and would swagger around looking for someone to bash. Luckily the main drag were so busy and their was such a strong community conscience that no-one was ever alone. However my son was bashed by a couple of Australians... on a train in London, because they mistook him for a "effing poofter".

So, recently, because the gays all work out at the gym and have bulging muscles, the thugs have had to look for a different target group. Now we have Curry bashing. This means finding some poor scrawny little Indian university student on his way home from a late shift stocking the shelves at Kmart, beating him senseless, and taking his mobile phone. It is the same sort of thing. However, when this practice hit the news last year and the police responded with a massive crackdown and I haven't heard of another incident. The Indian press at first wrote about it as if it represented a widespread prejudice, but the Indian consul published a statement about it that soothed the matter. In fact, students very rarely find prejudice within the universities they attend. The prejudiced attitudes are fostered by ignorance.

Thanks for the article! Amandajm (talk) 09:01, 31 March 2011 (UTC)[reply]
