Hi Sector. Had a look, and I agree those statements are problematic -- it might or might not qualify as POV (I think it's accurate, but then, I'm one of those liberals!) Forrest/Forest

Yup, those are WP:RS -- but then, so are the state parks website and the "visit Kirksville" website. I'm with you, I think it's clear the latter two have made a mistake (and an easy one to fall into, absolutely). I think the article should reflect the fact that the correct spelling is "Forrest," explain the origin and note that the error is promulgated at a couple of otherwise good websites. Agree? Thanks for the "Pat on the back". I just thought I would let you know that I hold nothing against you for being from Missouri (haha), and you can do any constructive editing in Iowa that you want. I patrol all Iowa communities and appreciated your cleanup and reference edit to Ottumwa, Iowa. It alerted me to a article that needed reorganization. Just a few links that may help you. Sorry I was less than clear in my citation. The comment section contains a post from "AWY" with that statement, and multiple assertions of his identity. I understand your removal (since my citation was less than clear). I notice that there is a contributor here at wikipedia who is likely Mr. Young (User: AWY) who might be able to further confirm his statements. No attempt to spin the story one way or the other (as you'll note the reference to McClanahan's assertion that Wyatt was behind the phone calls, which were later shown to be from MoGOP) but merely to capture the whole story.

Missouri 2012 Senate Race

Well, my argument is that this is becoming somewhat standard if you look at pages for other races. Also, look at the news coming out this week and you will notice that sometimes candidates who have declined to run previously change their minds and run, as is the case with Pete Hoekstra of Michigan. Even if the candidate is not running the polls still hold value. With increased polling data you can also get a sense of what the public opinion is towards the incumbent, similar to a poll of the incumbent versus a generic Republican, so you statement that these are now irrelevant is not exactly true. I'm not sure how this is a big issue in the first place as they are placed in a collapsible window and not cluttering up the page. Other aspects of why those types of polls still hold relevance include providing reasoning for why a particular candidate may have started a campaign only to drop it later as occasionally happens with those that poll worse than the leading candidate. So really, these polls can show the progression of the race. How does it happen that Earl Hamner's novels and stories about a fictional family called the "Spencers" gets retitled "The Waltons" on CBS? Is it coincidence that a show as popular as "The Waltons" happens in the same decade as the election of the son of Mary Claybaugh Walton to the presidency of Yale, the nation's 3rd oldest college, and the election of a US president, the 39th, whose middle name is Earl, Jimmy Carter? These are questions that billions of Wikipedia readers and millions of fans of "The Waltons"--the people most likely to read the Wikipedia article about it--are vitally interested in, and yet you, a Wikipedia editor, not only can't answer them but won't even ASK them. Vandalization of Mark Lodes (by digital assassination)

I exist. I am actually running for U.S. Senate. Todd Akin staffers have repeatedly deleted me from the list of likely candidates on his wiki page, and they have gone so far as to delete my wiki page. The only ones pulling dirty tricks are Todd Akin's staffers. This is a fact. I have screenshots of the events, and furthermore, deleting me from the internet by digital assassination is the dirtiest of dirty tricks. I am filing a harassment suit against Mr. Akin and his staffers presently. Sectors reply to Mark: There are several factual errors in your reply. 1) Your self-created Wiki was deleted by an administrator for failure to follow accepted guidlines and proper references for biographies of living persons, not by any supporters of Mr. Akin. Things have to be independently verifiable by a reliable source, not just your "say so". 2) I have no proof of the motives of the unregistered IP (173.21.183.11) that was involved in deleting your name from the Todd Akin Wiki. I however also deleted your name on multiple occassions NOT because I am in any way a staffer or supporter of Mr. Akin, but because once again the unregistered IP that added it did not abide by the Wikipedia guidlines for properly referencing information. Other Wikipedia editors have done the same and for the same reason. You will note on the Wiki United States Senate election in Missouri, 2012 that once you finally complied with an independent reliable source (the St. Louis radio interview) I have reverted the others who deleted your name and issued a strong caution to IP user 173.19.130.136 about their unacceptable deleting behavior. I am neutral, a referee if you will, and only ensuring that the Wikipedia rules are followed. 3) You seem to have misread my initial request for help. I was not "painting you as some kind of vandal". I was asking for your help in stopping the unregistered IP (97.91.181.5) from vandalizing....that is UNLESS you freely admit to being one and the same as that IP. In conclusion, before making assumptions and accusations I strongly urge you to fully read and comprehend Wikipedia polices on verifiable, independent references/sources for all articles. Really, you're critizicng me for being from Indiana yet editing a Missouri article? I am interested in all the Senate elections, and I have removed the irrelevant declined candidates from many other articles as well. If you want to keep them up until filing officially begins, fine, but I hope to see the section gone then. It's just that if someone is not runing, it's pretty damn obvious that they aren't running. They do not need to be included. If it was truly assumed, not simply widely speculated, that someone would run, but decided not to, or else said they would but changed their mind, then it could make sense. But when a local politician, under no assumption that they would run, states prompted or unprompted that they decline, it is not warranted to include them. The exception proves the rule, and when a person is not running, it would only make sense that his absense from the 'Running' section implies the same. Reywas92^Talk 19:20, 23 January 2012 (UTC)

Here are a few examples created by others that do consider it noteworthy to include them: United States Senate election in Texas, 2012, United States Senate election in California, 2012, United States Senate election in Minnesota, 2012, United States House of Representatives elections in Pennsylvania, 2012. ALL of those list or make mention of the declining candidates. This seems to be a common format & style for all similar articles. But hey, I suppose you're the only one correct and the rest of us are wrong, huh? If this is such a pet peeve of yours I suggest you kick it upstairs to a Wikipedia Admin. or put it before the community as a whole for a vote or something. Pawn Stars: "Bear-ly There"

Thanks for the assist, Sector. The source for the 1870 date is the episode itself, since that's where I got it from. Now if the company was under a different name by 1870 (Only one of the three sources cited for this point in the Volcanic Arms article is an online one that allows quick verification, and that one doesn't seem to mention that particular fact at all), then it would seem that one of two possibilities is the case here: They got the year wrong, as you have surmised, or, I would imagine, the year was correct, but they simply forgot or got wrong the company's name and/or the historical detail about its reorganization. Now me, I'd imagine it's the latter, and if I'm right, I'd think that it'd be better to restore the 1870 year, and simply add a note in the article about the name being different by then. Or perhaps we should simply stick to relating the info that the episode gave, and include a note indicating that one of the two pieces of info is wrong, and hope that doing so doesn't violate WP:SYNTH? Or are you really, really positive that the year is wrong, and the company name they used correct? Do you recall if the company name was seen/shown engraved on the gun? If so, then maybe that would bolster your theory that they got the year wrong. Perhaps we'll re-watch the episode as soon as they post it on History.com and we'll see what to do then? I just watched that particular episode about 2hrs ago and they absolutely called the gun the Volcanic and show mainstay Rick Harrison then went on to explain about the company being founded by the same gentlemen who founded Smith & Wesson firearms. It was also accompanied by one of those "pop up" boxes that Pawn Stars uses to further explain the history of the article being pawned. It was definitely a Volcanic, and indeed appeared practically identical to the 1855/57 model pictured on the Wikipedia article for Volcanic Repeating Firearms. Volcanic was definitely out of business, or rather as I explained earlier had undergone name changes, by 1870. Oliver Winchester basically took over the company and named their products after himself. Mr. Smith & Mr. Wesson went on to form their own famous self-named firearms company. Yeah, you should take a look - it's really a cute picture. Mmemoly

Well I was reverting his edits mainly because they were not sourced and the wording that he was using was clearly biased when he first started adding his name to the pages. He seems to have since toned down the bias. Other edits by him like his edit to Template:Cleanup-spam/doc could really be considered vandalism though. I agree that he is an inexperienced editor, but when they edit that much and don't pay attention to messages on their talk pages they are just as annoying as vandalism only accounts. 2000 Census data

Originally I was removing the 2000 data, but then I was informed by an admin that wasn't what the consensus was, and after looking at it now I kind of agree it does make the pages look a little bit better having both write ups in the Demographics sections. Somewhere there has been a discussion about this and they prefer that the data from 2000 is put into a subsection and left there. I personally don't know where this discussion took place and if you'd like to inquire further about it I'd recommend talking to Nyttend (talk) he is the person who informed me I wasn't following the consensus. Pictures around Vegas

Yea, I should and those are needed images. It's just a matter of time for me. I think the last one I did was the landscape of the Strip from the south east. One complication in the downtown area is that you need to find a place to park. Everything is paid parking except for some dedicated lots. This is something I just keep pushing off as other things take a higher priority.

Jingle Bells is not a Christmas song because it makes absolutely no reference to Christmas. If you need a source, I cite both versions of the lyrics of Jingle Bells as they appear on http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Jingle_Bells If you can show me anything in the lyrics that even hints at having anything to do with Christmas I will recant.

It is my personal opinion (and you will note that I did not include this in my edit) that Jingle Bells is an early example of a "hot rod" song of the sort that the Beach Boys and Jan & Dean made famous (again, just read through the lyrics).

AED locations within Kirksville, Missouri

Can you please explain to me why you deleted my table? I do not understand why AED locations are irrelevant and non-encyclopedic. They are part of the healthcare system in Kirksville, and have saved a man's life. AED locations should be important, because you only have 3 minutes after a cardiac arrest to treat the victim (specificly with an AED, or the chances of revival are very slim. A person's proximity to an AED is of utmost importance. If you are willing to explain further, I am open to ideas. I would like a productive discussion on this topic

I have provided some explanation on your Talk page. For further reference please look at Columbia, Missouri one of the Wikipedia articles that has been adjudged as reaching Good Article status. Nowhere in it nor other Good Articles for similar cities would one find a long "laundry list" of businesses who offer AEDs to the public. And, at the risk of being snarky, if someone is in the midst of a heart attack, I find it highly doubtful that they or someone in the crowd is going to say "Quick! 70th Armor in Korean War

Good catch on the alert date! Without referencing the date of the North's invasion of the South, 7 June is the date that came up in the references I used, here specifically Strike Swiftly Korea. It will take a while to confirm that timeline, as I had to get it through inter library loan and will have to do so again. I do remember agonizing over the alert/training/deployment timeline across my references and this date raised no flags. But how DID they know about the invasion before it happened?!? Sector001, thank you for the adjustments that you recently made to remove the references to the alias and the FBI. The statement that you added about other band members disputing Huston's claim about the naming of the band is misleading. No one is in dispute about Baxter suggesting the name of the band. The dispute is about his being wanted by the FBI which you already removed so there is no need to to clarify the band's position on something that is not even in the Background information anymore. Regardless of what the Wikipedia Administrator's determination is, we hope that your recent edits will stand and that the previous content that was removed does not find its way back into the Head East page on Wikipedia. Hi Sector. The reason I made the edits to the Sons of Anarchy synopsis was because the information posted, while prominent in the show, was superfluous for a Wikipedia article. Sector, I've considered starting a webpage about Moore. I don't have enough "edits" to upload a file..I would be glad to send the Jpeg to you to upload David Moore is the most amazing Civil War soldier I've ever run across! The only reason he was never given the full rank of Brigadier General(or Medal of Honor)is because on the way to Shiloh the men in his command(Missouri 21st)were shooting at citizens on the riverbanks. When the steamer reached Savannah, Tennessee, Moore was court martialed for actions unbecoming an officer(and cleared of charges). He was given his command back in time for Shiloh. Grant basically issued him a slap on the wrist. In U.S. Grants personal papers, he did personally recommend Moore for promotion to Brigadier General..but it never happened. Do you mind explaining in detail why you feel my additions were some form of 'massive copyright violations', as you stated in your edit summary? My additions were extensively researched off and on over a period of months and used reliable sources. In fact, I've used the Christensen book, Dictionary of Missouri Biography on many other Wiki's and no other editor ever alleged that it was any sort of violation. It is regrettable that one of those links has now become a dead link in the interim, but it does not justify gutting all additions I made. As always -- and in all my years editing here you seem to be the first to allege copyvio on my part -- I reworked the information from the source in my own words and did not plagiarize in any form or fashion. I don't like edit warring with others, as it is generally unproductive and takes me away from my work on other articles, so I am more than willing to work with you to resolve this issue to both our liking. However I am also very willing to 'go to the mat' to protect the upgrades I've made. If that means seeking arbitration from a neutral admin, so be it.End quote.

You removed information from the article when you revamped it. He was in a social movement called Technocracy movement and also wrote essays for them. That was interesting and valuable insight that you removed with a link to an article he wrote on that subject. You removed other information also.

You over and I mean really over sourced your additions to two things to the point of it being absurd to depend on a couple of sources to explain someone. That is not really researching it is just getting a bunch of info. from limited sourcing and dumping it somewhere. You also just copied many words without altering very much. Sector001, back in February of this year you left an entry on my talk page that described how my editing habits needed to improve since I was making (and probably still am) making rookie's mistakes. Not that I am complaining – I actually welcome the criticism. My apologies for the delayed response.

I have attempted to apply the tips you gave me. If you've seen the St. Louis Cardinals page recently, you may notice that I've (attempted to) streamline(d) it, especially in the history section and other efforts here and there. I'm working to get that page to a FA status. I split the History of the St. Louis Cardinals into four sections (A, B, C, D). I modified the lead and the table of the List of St. Louis Cardinals managers and would like to get the promoted to a featured list. I also nominated Yadier Molina for a featured article candidate (current list of featured article candidates) –– maybe it is a bit premature but I want to give it a try. If you have any input on any or all of these pages, please, feel free to let me know.

Would you please stop changing Stephanie's last name because she is better known by her maiden name than and thus it is less confusing when doing google searches ens. Even the IMDb uses her maiden name. Also it is a standard practice among celebrities for the woman to keep her maiden name if it was in use when she became famous.

Raiders were on Midway

Company’s C & D were on Midway. Go to marines raiders association. I have personally seen Harold Pie Keller’s discharge papers. He was there and while the raiders did not have any casualties, I highly doubt they did not return fire against the Japanese planes. Neck had a golden ticket to go back to the US.
