Advertising does not only mean adding inappropriate links (though of course that can be one kind of it). It also includes promotion of any type, including just "talking up" or "getting the word out". Wikipedia articles are appropriate for subjects which pass the notability criteria, which you almost certainly do not. (Not a knock on you—I don't either, and the vast majority of people don't.) If you want to write "About Me" type material or advertisements for your services, please use a more appropriate venue such as a personal website and/or social media.
