You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Bangalore Sisters, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. This is a valid biography of a duo called Bangalore sisters. The external links will be removed if that is being qualified as promtional content. Request to allow the content to be edited. ShravanthiRK (talk) 16:27, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

It looks like you based the first version of this page, created earlier today, on User:BangaloreSisters/Sample page.

I have asked that the history of the two pages be merged. When that happens, the three edits from October 3-5 from User:BangaloreSisters/Sample page will be listed as the first three edits of Bangalore Sisters.

A history merge is the most straight-forward way to preserve attribution in this particular case. Preserving attribution is a legal requirement on Wikipedia. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:25, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Conflicts of interest[edit]

Your editing of Bangalore Sisters suggests you might have a conflict of interest as it related to that musical duo.

Please read Wikipedia:Conflict of interest and Wikipedia:Paid editing disclosure.

If the paid editing disclosure policy applies to you, you must comply with the instructions on that page.

If the conflict of interest guideline applies to you, you are strongly encouraged to follow that guideline.

If you have no connection to the duo whatsoever other than as someone who appreciates their music, it might be helpful for you to say so in a reply to this message. This is completely optional on your part. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 17:30, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

From your answer on my talk page, you have a very clear conflict of interest with respect to this musical duo. It is strongly recommended that once an article is in the main encyclopedia (as opposed to being a draft article, whose name starts with Draft:), people with a conflict of interest not make edits to it except for a few narrow exceptions. The conflict of interest guideline has all the details. It is also strongly encouraged to "declare" conflicts of interest.
Whether or not an editor has a conflict of interest, any article he creates will only be allowed to stay in the main encyclopedia if there is evidence that the person, group, or other topic meets Wikipedia's criteria for inclusion. Please read WP:Notability and its related pages as well as WP:Reliable sources, WP:Independent sources, and WP:What Wikipedia is not. I think they will answer most of your questions. davidwr/(talk)/(contribs) 18:16, 23 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]
You have been told by davidwr that you must disclose your COI exactly as described in his post above. If you edit on this topic again without doing so, I will block this account.
  • When you write about a musical group, you must provide independent verifiable sources to enable us to verify the facts and show that they meet the notability guidelines. Sources that are not acceptable include those linked to the group or an associated organisation, press releases, YouTube, IMDB, social media and other sites that can be self-edited, blogs, websites of unknown or non-reliable provenance, and sites that are just reporting what they claim or interviewing them. Note that references should be in-line so we can tell what fact each is supporting, and should not be bare urls. Your text had no references of any kind, let alone independent third-party sources
  • You must write in a non-promotional tone. Articles must be neutral and encyclopaedic, with verifiable facts, not opinions or reviews.
  • There shouldn't be any url links in the article, only in the "References" or "External links" sections.
  • You must not copy text from elsewhere. Copyrighted text is not allowed in Wikipedia, as outlined in this policy. That applies even to pages created by you or your organisation, unless they state clearly and explicitly that the text is public domain. We require that text posted here can be used, modified and distributed for any purpose, including commercial; text is considered to be copyright unless explicitly stated otherwise. There are ways to donate copyrighted text to Wikipedia, as described here; please note that simply asserting on the talk page that you are the owner of the copyright, or you have permission to use the text, isn't sufficient.
Before attempting to write an article again, please make sure that the topic meets the notability criteria linked above, and check that you can find independent third party sources. Also read Your first article. Jimfbleak - talk to me? 08:45, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Jimfbleak I apologize for not declaring COI. After my earlier post was deleted, I have rewritten the article and would request you to look into it if the new write up suits the Wikipedia standards. I have gone through all the links sent by yourself as well as davidwr and have tried to implement the same to the best of my understanding. I have added sources which I was able to find. I do not have any more of third party links to add other than the links to youtube (their songs uploaded by notable music companies) or other music streaming websites where their songs are published for free streaming. However I understand that those links would not be accepted as reliable sources. Apart from that, I only have cut outs from the physical newspaper in form of images (unable to find them as e-papers to post links). I request you to help me understand if those are accepted as reliable sources to prove the notability of the music duo if I upload them to WikiCommons? I request you to guide me on what I could do, what I have missed & what I should correct.ShravanthiRK (talk) 15:59, 24 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You have still not declared your COI in the manner prescribe in David's message above, you must do so. Newspaper references do not have to be available on line (and mustn't be uploaded as images, since they are copyright), just give the relevant details. If you use a newspaper, it must be a good source, equivalent to, say, The Guardian in the UK or the Washington Post in the US, and shouldn't be an interview, since that just has them talking about themselves. You are right that YouTube, social media and sites like Spotify are not acceptable Jimfbleak - talk to me? 11:21, 25 October 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Jimfbleak, I have disclosed COI on the talk page of the User:ShravanthiRK/Bangalore Sisters and also in the edit summary as per my understanding of the material I read, that was sent by davidwr. I have also added citations with the newspaper details of the write-ups published about the Bangalore Sisters (which are not interviews/advertisements). The newspapers that have been cited are the popular ones in the region we live in. I have included other reference links as well that I found on the net to prove the authenticity of the information provided in the copy (trying my best to stick to the wikipedia guidelines and ensuring that they are not self editable sources). I have maintained a neutral, non-promotional tone in the copy, to the best of my knowledge. I request your guidance further, if I have missed anything or misunderstood any policy. Please help. Thank you!

Information icon Hello, and thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. This is just a note to let you know that I've moved the draft that you were working on to Draft:Padma Rao Sundarji, from its old location at User:ShravanthiRK/sandbox/Padma Rao Sundarji (Journalist). This has been done because the Draft namespace is the preferred location for Articles for Creation submissions. Please feel free to continue to work on it there. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to ask me on my talk page. Thank you. Nathan2055talk - contribs 17:33, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

Information icon Hello, ShravanthiRK. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places or things you have written about on the page Draft:Padma Rao Sundarji, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a conflict of interest may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. We ask that you:

  • avoid editing or creating articles about yourself, your family, friends, colleagues, company, organization or competitors;
  • propose changes on the talk pages of affected articles (you can use the {{request edit}} template);
  • disclose your conflict of interest when discussing affected articles (see Wikipedia:Conflict of interest#How to disclose a COI);
  • avoid linking to your organization's website in other articles (see WP:Spam);
  • do your best to comply with Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you are required by the Wikimedia Foundation's terms of use to disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution which forms all or part of work for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation. See Wikipedia:Paid-contribution disclosure.

Also, editing for the purpose of advertising, publicising, or promoting anyone or anything is not permitted. Thank you. Nathan2055talk - contribs 17:35, 19 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Padma Rao Sundarji moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Padma Rao Sundarji, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your draft to draftspace (with a prefix of "Draft:" before the article title) where you can incubate the article with minimal disruption. When you feel the article meets Wikipedia's general notability guideline and thus is ready for mainspace, please click on the "Submit your draft for review!" button at the top of the page. Padma Rao Sundarji moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Padma Rao Sundarji, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) In addition, there is a question of WP:UPE or WP:COI. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). Your submission at Articles for creation: Padma Rao Sundarji (July 30)[edit]

Your recent article submission has been rejected. If you have further questions, you can ask at the Articles for creation help desk or use Wikipedia's real-time chat help. The reason left by Clearfrienda was: This topic is not sufficiently notable for inclusion in Wikipedia. The comment the reviewer left was: Already declined numerous times with very little improvement.
Clearfrienda 💬 12:00, 30 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

The main reason the article was rejected numerous times was because of sources. Upon receiving help & advise from other reviewers, it was learnt that print media with a detailed coverage of the subject is also considered for establishing notability. Now, print media references for the article with detailed writeup covering her, her work, her professional associations along with book review have been provided. The main issue (sources) has been addressed now which is what was the main improvement suggested by all reviewers. Request you to kindly explain the reason for this rejection. Thanks in advance.
