Article in a foreign language that exists on another project[edit]

Dear Skier,

I've recently started translating an article about Battery Energy Drink on spanish but unfortunately you have deleted it arguing that it exists on another project, could you please let me know where the other project is?

Best Regards,

FRadikal — Preceding unsigned comment added by FRadikal (talkcontribs) 06:46, 2 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The article you created - how can you forget? the article in English is Battery Energy Drink Skier Dude (talk) 00:29, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Can the higher resolution image here just be deleted as its been superceded by the lower resolution image for 2+weeks now. Thank You for any help you can give, --Leoboudv (talk) 04:13, 4 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

The deletion of my translation[edit]

Dear Skier Dude,

I'm writing about the translation article I have with a lot of effort written on Wikipedia “Battery Energy Drink”, I’ve been updating the references, being impartial as possible, keeping my neutral point of view and even it’s just a literal translation from an article in Finnish language; http://fi.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battery_%28energiajuoma%29, now you are planning to delete it. I am seriously concern about the impartiality you are applying to this decision. Hopefully, you get to understand the article in Finnish and you can instead of taking radical measures, help me changing it to a basic translation.

Best Regards,

Images[edit]

You wrote a notice on my talk page about this image, saying that it will be deleted in seven days. That image needs to deleted cause it replaced it with a better version. So can you have it deleted? Anurag2k12 (talk) 04:38, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Thanks! -- Anurag2k12 (talk) 04:42, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hey, can you tell me how I'm supposed to find out if an image is in the Public Domain or not? Where exactly will it be written? -- Anurag2k12 (talk) 22:19, 16 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

K, thanks a lot. Anurag2k12 (talk) 01:44, 17 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Would you protect this article? A user has used two accounts to use the article as a playground. Thanks, SwisterTwister talk 05:31, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

I have requested for semi-protection for this article on WP:RPP but no administrator have taken action on my request as of this moment. Kindly check it out since the vandal have now created multiple accounts. -WayKurat (talk) 05:34, 21 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Deletion of my user page[edit]

Deletion of redirect[edit]

Greetings, Skier Dude. I am here to tell you about the strange force that is apparently hampering my attempts to get a redirect speedy-deleted... I am referring to this redirect, which you deleted earlier today. Or, to be precise, you deleted its talk page, because although I edited the redirect to add the speedy-deletion template, upon saving the page it had magically turned into the redirect's previously non-existent talk page! I also thought this sounded ridiculous, and I thought I had clicked on the "Talk" tab and somehow copied the redirection syntax from the redirect, but I double-checked the history in my browser and it seems that the page I edited was the redirect itself... I decided at the time not to edit it again, hoping that the administrator who would take care of this might notice what had happened, but you didn't, although I certainly cannot blame you for that.

After noticing that the talk page had been deleted, I carefully tried my luck at nominating the redirect again, and the same thing happened, this time beyond a doubt. I don't know what is happening (and I haven't read the Signpost since February so I am unaware of new technical features of redirects), but this situation is most curious. I am thinking of bringing it up at the technical village pump, unless this is a known problem (perhaps due to the closing curly quotation marks in the title); do you know anything about this? I meant to ask you to delete the redirect itself, which I am unable to properly nominate, but perhaps this ought to be deferred until the nature of the problem is identified. Waltham, The Duke of 21:19, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

If I'm reading this correctly, you're trying to get the version without the hyphens deleted, correct? Talk:Serjeant at Arms of the British House of Commons and Serjeant at Arms of the British House of Commons would be the two & they would be deletable under R3 as there's no significant history for either of them. If that's the case, just confirm here & I'll take care of that. Right now Talk:Serjeant-at-Arms of the British House of Commons” (with the hyphens and a tailing " is tagged for deletion - and it appears that whatever you're doing, you're re-creating that page?!
The other issue, however, does't seem to be anything that I've seen before... possibly a note at the tech village pump might lead to the bug if there is one! 21:31, 25 July 2012 (UTC)
To be clear: the only page I'd like to see deleted is Serjeant-at-Arms of the British House of Commons”, though I also need to get rid of Talk:Serjeant-at-Arms of the British House of Commons”, which I have created against my will (grrr). The only reason I want the redirect gone is the trailing ”; there is a similar redirect without it, which is perfectly appropriate and useful. The version without the hyphens is the article itself.
I'll leave a message at the pump, linking to this discussion for more details. Waltham, The Duke of 23:29, 25 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Message posted; thanks for the deletions. Waltham, The Duke of 00:50, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Skier Dude. Would you mind having a look at what's been going on at the Hooman Majd article, my talk page, User talk:Kurdo777 (and page history - just noticed they removed something) and User talk:Binksternet, as well as the associated page protection request. Just to be clear feel free to do what ever you want I'm just thinking that a second opinion may beat AN/I. Thanks, Callanecc (talkcontribs) talkback (etc) template appreciated. 06:31, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Hi Skier User:Jimfbleak is dealing with it, sorry to disturb, I'll let you get back to those test pages :). Callanecc (talkcontribs) talkback (etc) template appreciated. 06:38, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Permanently delete town of residence from Dan Johnson (musician) article[edit]

Article Dan Johnson lists Johnson's alleged nicknames and residence to within less than 80 000 people with no references. After review, can you please permanently delete versions from "06:02, 17 July 2012" up to "05:32, 26 July 2012"? Thanks!--Jax 0677 (talk) 17:25, 26 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

  • Sorry, but I don't see why the supposed name of his mother and dog should be permanently deleted. It's not OK to keep it in the article per our BLP policy (plus, it's totally trivial), but WP:CRD stipulates that such permanent deletion is to be done for grossly insulting, degrading, or offensive material, and I don't see how that is the case here. Drmies (talk) 04:00, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
Thanks for backing up my initial thoughts-I can see why the prior revdel was done, but none of this seems to violate either BLP, possibly ID'ing another individual, or any other criteria at CRD. It was just that the information seemed so odd that I asked for a 2nd opinion!! Thanks Skier Dude (talk) 04:03, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
You know, once upon a time someone had a little Chihuahua named Carlos that had some kind of skin disease and was totally blind *cough*--but that's another story. Drmies (talk) 04:06, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
I agree with y'all, but Jax could try contacting WP:OTRS for their opinion as well. LadyofShalott 16:56, 27 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

User:Theone9988[edit]

Last month you blocked Organometalic1 (talk · contribs) for making edits such as this and this. We now have Theone9988 (talk · contribs) who is making pretty much the same edits. It seems pretty clear to me that the new user is the same as the first and continuing their POV. However, given that I have edited the article on occasion I'm probably involved and should not block. Can you take a look. Thanks. CambridgeBayWeather (talk) 12:54, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]

Looked pretty conclusive of a match to me, so I indef-blocked the new one. Franamax (talk) 17:13, 30 July 2012 (UTC)[reply]
