Hair all caps

[edit]

Hey there - after much back and forth we decided to keep the Hair style as is rather than all caps - you can read the discussion on the Hair talk page. Cheers! -- Mblaxill (talk) 19:25, 17 December 2007 (UTC)[reply]

Fair use rationale for Image:ShirrelRhoades.jpg

[edit]

Thanks for uploading or contributing to Image:ShirrelRhoades.jpg. I notice the image page specifies that the image is being used under fair use but there is not a suitable explanation or rationale as to why each specific use in Wikipedia constitutes fair use. Please go to the image description page and edit it to include a fair use rationale.

If you have uploaded other fair use media, consider checking that you have specified the fair use rationale on those pages too. You can find a list of 'image' pages you have edited by clicking on the "my contributions" link (it is located at the very top of any Wikipedia page when you are logged in), and then selecting "Image" from the dropdown box. Note that any non-free media lacking such an explanation will be deleted one week after they have been uploaded, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. NOTE: once you correct this, please remove the tag from the image's page. KONK

[edit]

Speedy deletion nomination of KONK

[edit]

A tag has been placed on KONK, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article seems to be blatant advertising that only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become an encyclopedia article. Please read the general criteria for speedy deletion, particularly item 11, as well as the guidelines on spam.

If you can indicate why the subject of this article is not blatant advertising, you may contest the tagging. To do this, please add {{hangon}} on the top of KONK and leave a note on the article's talk page explaining your position. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but don't hesitate to add information to the article that would help make it encyclopedic, as well as adding any citations from independent reliable sources to ensure that the article will be verifiable. Feel free to leave a note on my talk page if you have any questions about this. //Melonite (talk) 16:10, 20 June 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Renaming

[edit]

Hi there, i want to request you something. I also use SkyCaptain nick in Turkish Wiki. I did many edits and want to make much more but i need global User:SkyCaptain account for making translations from English to Turkish easily. I'll really appreciate if you change your nickname and give this as a gift for me. :) I'm waiting for your reply here, thanks... SkyCaptain

Sorry for previous post on your user page that should have gone here. (This is my first attempt at reading Turkish! :-) I put in to change my username, but there are about 10 other users with that name around the world. Good luck getting everyone to change. [DavidBethune (SkyCaptain US)]

Thank you mate. I need only Turkish and US (General) versions of this account. Because i don't know any other language yet. :)) By the way sorry for reply you late, i was away from wikiworld... Failure

[edit]

Hey thanks for your effort to change your nick as DavidBethune but sysops need your confirmation for realizing the action. So your last request's not done.

Could you ask them one more time for changing your nick as DavidBethune please? (from here) and please don't forget to confirm it, thanks. SkyCaptainTR --85.101.224.50 (talk) 14:57, 29 July 2009 (UTC)[reply]

KONK (Part 2)

[edit]

I have removed your spam and COI tags from the page. The page has withstood a previous db-spam nomination and an AfD nomination. Also, you are the one who created the page, so I am a little confused on your nomination. - NeutralHomerTalk00:58, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

That is OK if you feel you know the policy better, but with a precedent set with a previous db-spam nom and an AfD nom, plus the page has several references to it....I don't think another db-spam nom is going to make it go away. I think you are stuck with the page. - NeutralHomerTalk01:28, 17 August 2009 (UTC)[reply]

Disputed non-free use rationale for File:GordonBethuneFromWorstToFirstBook.jpg

[edit]

Thank you for uploading File:GordonBethuneFromWorstToFirstBook.jpg. However, there is a concern that the rationale provided for using this file on Wikipedia may not meet the criteria required by Wikipedia:Non-free content. This can be corrected by going to the file description page and adding or clarifying the reason why the file qualifies under this policy. Adding and completing one of the templates available from Wikipedia:Non-free use rationale guideline is an easy way to ensure that your file is in compliance with Wikipedia policy. Please be aware that a non-free use rationale is not the same as an image copyright tag; descriptions for files used under the non-free content policy require both a copyright tag and a non-free use rationale.

If it is determined that the file does not qualify under the non-free content policy, it might be deleted by an administrator within a few days in accordance with our criteria for speedy deletion. If you have any questions, please ask them at the media copyright questions page. Thank you. Angr (talk) 13:11, 8 July 2011 (UTC)[reply]

Request for usurpation

[edit]

Hello, SkyCaptain. A request has been made at Wikipedia:Changing username/Usurpations to usurp, or "take over", your username because another user would like to use it to edit. The changing username guideline allows a username that is not being actively used to be usurped if the user is given an opportunity to object and does not do so.

If you have an email set in your preferences, you should be getting an email from a bureaucrat or changing username clerk explaining how to consent or object to this process.

If you do not object to being renamed to a new username in order for another user to use the name you currently have, please log in and post a reply here saying so (you may also tell us what username you would like to be renamed to, or we will provide you with a generic one).

If you do nothing: the request may be filled shortly, and your account will be moved to a generic username. You may request that it be moved to a new username of your choice at any time.

If you object to being renamed: please log in and make an edit to this page clearly stating that you object to usurpation. Any objection on your part will prevent usurpation.

Please note that even if your current username is usurped, you can still edit and your data will not be lost; your preferences, watchlist, and other user settings will be transferred to a new username.

Thank you for your time. — frankie (talk) 15:46, 17 October 2011 (UTC)[reply]

File permission problem with File:ShirrelRhoades.png

[edit]

Thanks for uploading File:ShirrelRhoades.png. I noticed that while you provided a valid copyright licensing tag, there is no proof that the creator of the file has agreed to release it under the given license.

If you are the copyright holder for this media entirely yourself but have previously published it elsewhere (especially online), please either

  • make a note permitting reuse under the CC-BY-SA or another acceptable free license (see this list) at the site of the original publication; or
  • Send an email from an address associated with the original publication to permissions-en@wikimedia.org, stating your ownership of the material and your intention to publish it under a free license. You can find a sample permission letter here. If you take this step, add {{OTRS pending}} to the file description page to prevent premature deletion.

If you did not create it entirely yourself, please ask the person who created the file to take one of the two steps listed above, or if the owner of the file has already given their permission to you via email, please forward that email to permissions-en@wikimedia.org.

If you believe the media meets the criteria at Wikipedia:Non-free content, use a tag such as {{non-free fair use}} or one of the other tags listed at Wikipedia:File copyright tags#Fair use, and add a rationale justifying the file's use on the article or articles where it is included. See Wikipedia:File copyright tags for the full list of copyright tags that you can use.

If you have uploaded other files, consider checking that you have provided evidence that their copyright owners have agreed to license their works under the tags you supplied, too. You can find a list of files you have created in your upload log. Files lacking evidence of permission may be deleted one week after they have been tagged, as described on criteria for speedy deletion. You may wish to read the Wikipedia's image use policy. If you have any questions please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you. Redsky89 (talk) 18:03, 20 May 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. Orphaned non-free image File:KONK logo.jpg

[edit]
⚠

Thanks for uploading File:KONK logo.jpg. The image description page currently specifies that the image is non-free and may only be used on Wikipedia under a claim of fair use. However, the image is currently not used in any articles on Wikipedia. If the image was previously in an article, please go to the article and see why it was removed. You may add it back if you think that that will be useful. However, please note that images for which a replacement could be created are not acceptable for use on Wikipedia (see our policy for non-free media).

Note that any non-free images not used in any articles will be deleted after seven days, as described in section F5 of the criteria for speedy deletion. Thank you. --B-bot (talk) 17:28, 14 March 2020 (UTC)[reply]
