Forgive my misunderstanding. I thought that the block was due to the username, but it appears that the content of the sandbox page is also problematic. I am trying to learn how to edit in Wikipedia, and I believed sandbox to be a place for experimentation. I will strive to do better.Smkfilms (talk) 05:55, 25 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Clearly your experience here to date has not been ideal, and possibly the problem has not been adequately clarified for you. Your block is imposed because of your chosen username, as the block template message says. This is because a username may not be the name of any company or organization, widely interpreted, and your name clearly and unambiguously refers to a film maker; indeed, your sandbox article is about the film maker in question. you are correct in your belief that the sandbox is a place to experiment in, but articles therein can be deleted if they appear to be promotional. It has also been suggested, although I believe not confirmed by yourself, that this sandbox article is autobiographical. if true, I should point out that the writing of autobiography here is strongly discouraged. If you wish to continue editing here, which I hope you do, please submit a further unblock request, using {{unblock-un}}, to request a change of username; and if, thereafter, you wish to write about the same person, I suggest that you create initially a draft in articles for creation.--Anthony Bradbury^"talk" 11:47, 29 November 2017 (UTC)[reply]
