If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Jeff Bussgang requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section A7 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article appears to be about a person or group of people, but it does not credibly indicate how or why the subject is important or significant: that is, why an article about that subject should be included in an encyclopedia. Under the criteria for speedy deletion, such articles may be deleted at any time. Please read more about what is generally accepted as notable.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. Information icon Please do not remove speedy deletion notices from pages you have created yourself, as you did with Jeff Bussgang. If you believe the page should not be deleted, you may contest the deletion by clicking on the button that says: Contest this speedy deletion, which appears inside the speedy deletion notice. This will allow you to make your case on the article's talk page. Administrators will consider your reasoning before deciding what to do with the article. Information icon Hello, SmokeyArtichoke. We welcome your contributions, but if you have an external relationship with the people, places, or things you have written about on Wikipedia, you may have a conflict of interest (COI). Editors with a COI may be unduly influenced by their connection to the topic, and it is important when editing Wikipedia articles that such connections be completely transparent. See the conflict of interest guideline and FAQ for organizations for more information. In particular, we ask that you please:

  • avoid editing or creating articles related to you and your family, friends, school, company, club, or organization, as well as any competing companies' projects or products;
  • instead, you are encouraged to propose changes on the Talk pages of affected article(s) (see the {{request edit}} template);
  • when discussing affected articles, disclose your COI (see WP:DISCLOSE);
  • avoid linking to the Wikipedia article or to the website of your organization in other articles (see WP:SPAM);
  • exercise great caution so that you do not violate Wikipedia's content policies.

In addition, you must disclose your employer, client, and affiliation with respect to any contribution for which you receive, or expect to receive, compensation (see WP:PAID).

Please take a few moments to read and review Wikipedia's policies regarding conflicts of interest, especially those pertaining to neutral point of view, sourcing and autobiographies. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 20:39, 18 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Disclosure[edit]

Hello, welcome to Wikipedia! I notice that your editing has been on the topic of Flybridge Capital Partners. If you have some kind of connection with this company or are collaborating with other employees of this company in editing Wikipedia, you need to disclose it before making another edit - that's a link on how to do this. Any questions just let me know, otherwise hope this is helpful. Blythwood (talk) 16:14, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Nomination of Jeff Bussgang for deletion[edit]

A discussion is taking place as to whether the article Jeff Bussgang is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

The article will be discussed at Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeff Bussgang until a consensus is reached, and anyone is welcome to contribute to the discussion. The nomination will explain the policies and guidelines which are of concern. The discussion focuses on high-quality evidence and our policies and guidelines.

Users may edit the article during the discussion, including to improve the article to address concerns raised in the discussion. However, do not remove the article-for-deletion notice from the top of the article. Drmies (talk) 16:47, 19 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Username policy[edit]

Your username is the same as a person with a financial involvement in a company in connection with which you have been editing. You have said that yo do not have such an involvement, which means yo have told us yo are not that person. Therefore, your username is misleading, and you must not continue to use it to edit. Wikipedia:Changing username gives instructions on how to request a change of username for your account. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 10:01, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Removing another editor's talk page comment[edit]

Information icon Please do not delete or edit other editors' talk page comments, as you did at Talk:Jeff Bussgang. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 10:09, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

May 2016[edit]

Warning icon Please stop your disruptive editing. If you continue to vandalize Wikipedia, as you did to Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Jeff Bussgang with this edit, you may be blocked from editing. Serols (talk) 15:38, 20 May 2016 (UTC)[reply]

  • I don't believe taking down my real name to protect myself can be considered "vandalizing."

The article Jeff Bussgang has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There is insufficient in-depth coverage of this person in reliable sources to meet WP:BIO. The sources cited are local in scope, brief and or not independent.

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.
