About images[edit]

The above notices were because you uploaded an image to commons and also added information to a same named file on the English Wiki. The English Wiki info you added is what is being deleted as it is redundant with what was added on Commons. When you refer to an image in an article and it doesn't exist on the English wiki but does exist with that name on Commons, the commons image will be used.

See messages on your Commons account about why the images you uploaded there will likely be deleted. Commons requires free-use images exclusively. Articles about living people, with extremely rare exceptions, also require free-use images and those images should be on Commons. Most images that look like they were taken by a professional photographer rarely are free use so it is suspicious when you see one on Commons. Most likely images we can use will be taken by amateurs and found in places like flickr. Geraldo Perez (talk) 06:40, 18 September 2011 (UTC)[reply]
