Excessive lists[edit]

Please read WP:ALUMNI and more generally WP:NOT (especially WP:NOTCATALOG) before adding excessive lists without notability to the article. From your lack of neutrality I also suspect you might have a conflict of interests. Are you a student? If so I suggest you stop editing immediately. Managing a conflict of interest[edit]

I understand that I am to avoid editing articles related to my university but in the absence of any other person who would create it for us, I have had to create it. Besides, Wikipedia asks me to avoid editing the articles but it does not expressly ban me from editing the articles. Thus, I did take the liberty to go ahead and create the page, I understand that some of the information added violated copyrights and some of it contained excessive lists, etcetera. Thus, I've added my own wording and new material. I hope this does not violate any policies. I would be grateful if you'd have a look. --Souradeep1996 (talk) 16:42, 27 September 2016 (UTC)[reply]

Information icon Please do not add inappropriate external links to Wikipedia, as you did to Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad. Wikipedia is not a collection of links, nor should it be used for advertising or promotion. Inappropriate links include, but are not limited to, links to personal websites, links to websites with which you are affiliated (whether as a link in article text, or a citation in an article), and links that attract visitors to a website or promote a product. See the external links guideline and spam guideline for further explanations. Because Wikipedia uses the nofollow attribute value, its external links are disregarded by most search engines. Please do not use Wikipedia to promote businesses, such as you did in the article Indian Institute of Technology (ISM), Dhanbad. Wikipedia is not the Yellow pages. If you want to list a company for potential customers to find, please consider alternative outlets. Thank you. Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

All or some of your addition(s) to Department of Management Studies, IIT(ISM) Dhanbad has had to be removed, as it appears to have added copyrighted material without permission from the copyright holder. All users who registered an account before Saturday, 28 October 2017, made at least 150 mainspace edits before Wednesday, 1 November 2017 and are not currently blocked are eligible to vote. Users with alternate accounts may only vote once.

The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to impose binding solutions to disputes between editors, primarily for serious conduct disputes the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the authority to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail.
