Pitchford

Though I don't see the reasoning of trying to make a page un-viewable to a certain sector of people, I thank you for explaning the URL specifics to me. I did notice that your Wikipedia name is the same as the name of the person who made the discography (you), and I think it's great that an expert like you is working here. Lonnie Pitchford was one of my all time favorites and I'm sorry I never got to see him live (though I've seen him in the several films I've added to the article). Hello, when you want to link to the article about something British, please do not link to British, as that is a disambiguation page (which nothing should be linked to). Instead link to the one of the options found on that page such as United Kingdom or Great Britain by writing out [[United Kingdom|British]] or [[Great Britain|British]]. Article about Wikipedia Users

Hello,

Wikipedia user David Badagnani directed me to your user page. I am a freelance writer working on an article about the wide array of people who make Wikipedia their life, their passion, their pastime. Wikipedia “addicts” if you will. I’m looking for people just willing to tell their story of how they got sucked into the intellectual whirlwind that is Wikipedia; how you got started editing, how the obsession grew, and what you spend your time focusing on these days? Do you write articles from scratch? Is your main push toward one particular type of article? Do you patrol for typos and errors, or spend your time diligently fixing vandalism? Do you take part in the “social aspects” of Wikipedia; engaging in animated discussions or decorating your user page with all sorts of internet memes? Have you ever forced yourself to take a “Wikipedia break”? If so, what’s your 20/20 hindsight on the obsession? Snooky Pryor

I recently removed an image you placed in the article Snooky Pryor due to a violation with WP:FU. It states that album covers can only be used as critical commentary on articles dealing specifially with the album in question. Spivey Records

Hi Stefan, I was delighted to notice that a blues scholar is also contributing his expertise to Wikipedia. I recently made some edits on the Spivey Records page. I was surprised that another editor, John Nagle, posted a warning that the entry read more like an advertisement, and he seems to advocate merging Spivey Records with Victoria Spivey page on the grounds that the label is not noteworthy. I like the entry because I bought various Spivey Records in the 1960 and 1970s, and liked the music and the home-made look of the graphics. As you know, it's best to provide verifiable facts that contribute to the entry being regarded as noteworthy. You can read what Nagle wrote, and my response here [1]. If you have any thoughts about facts or events in history of Spivey Records that you can link to authoritative book or web site, I'd appreciate your input. Of course I don't want to inflate the significance of Spivey Records beyond what it is, an interesting small blues label. Credibility Gap photo

Thanks for posting an improved photo of the original lineup of The Credibility Gap at File:Credgapppback.jpg. Unfortunately, even though the new file is larger, it appears to be more pixellated than the previous version. (It does not look like the clean copy at your website.) Greetings, I am the niece of Ennis Lowery aka Larry Dale. Larry Dale pass away this morning, Wednesday, May 19, 2010 in his New York Apartment....He was 86 years old!

Cat Iron

Although a website from Germany says "'Cat Iron' is not an actual nickname, but a mishearing of his surname", if he is called "Cat Iron" then a native English speaker would consider that his nickname. In short, I'm suggesting the source is wrong. Maybe in German a nickname derived from the sound of someone's surname has a special term? In English, however, we make no distinction in this regard. Hi John Stephen, thanks for your proposal, but you might have overseen that the reference I added isn't "from a German website", but from a British blues magazine ("Blues World" 43, 1972): http://www.wirz.de/music/catiron/grafik/bw4.jpg (scanned and shown at this German website). Surprised though that you don't have the 1964 British "hit" single version of Smokestack that I used to have---the number was Pye International 7N25244, according to a book I have; can't remember what the B-side was, though. Early blues and gospel blues

Hi, Stefan! I'm delighted to learn that you are a Wikipedia editor – your website is an invaluable resource!
I'm currently writing up all Washington Phillips' songs as Wiki articles. The article on him is a work in progress – the biography was in a dreadful state; and the "Cultural legacy" section is still a mess, full of random information which belongs under the individual songs. I don't plan to touch it until Category:Washington Phillips songs is complete – but, that section really does need rewriting.
BTW I don't think your Wiki revert reinstated any information which I'd deleted from the Wiki article on "Wash" Phillips – it should all still be there, in the main text.
You'll recognise two of the pictures of singles labels in this article – which as you can imagine, took a bit of research.
Two recent articles of mine which you might find of interest – A. C. and Mamie Forehand and Luther Magby.

Earl King and Pearl King

I'd always thought, and read, that "Pearl King" - a co-writer on some of Dave Bartholomew's songs - was a pseudonym of Earl King, and I've edited his article accordingly. But, I've just discovered this book (p.40), which says that Pearl King was Dave Bartholomew's wife. This seems to be confirmed by online directories that I can access via Ancestry.com, that give Dave L. and Pearl K. Bartholomew living in Robert Street, New Orleans, in 1960. Anyways, big thanks for your thorough discography work on numerous blues and folk musicians. I especially appreciate the fact you did not overlook lesser-known musicians and I feel a major part of your intent was to revive people's interests in their music. If it wasn't for you, there is no way I would have ever heard of or written articles on Woodrow Adams, Eddie "One String" Jones, and (an artist I'm particularly fond of) Blind Connie Williams. You may be humble about it, but I want to praise you for playing your role in preserving an important piece in music history.
