Xenoarcheology
[edit]I imagined it a bit different. IT focuses much on SETI and ancient astronauts, while the concept has to do with science fiction, not alternative history theories. Pictureuploader 07:24, 6 October 2006 (UTC)
- Wikipedia doesnt permit when an article 'provides or presumes new definitions of pre-existing terms;'. AFAIK xenoarcheology is strictly archeology performed on an alien planet, therefore only a scifi term (unless of course we visit inhabited planets), not study for ancient aliens on earth. Using the term to describe this, is an original presumtion, therefore the article must be cleaned up. Of course you can correct me if the term has been indeed used by Daniken or else. Pictureuploader 11:19, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
- The game Freelancer uses the term xenoarcheologist. It was a woman that had some research on an alien planet. I don't know about other occurences. Pictureuploader 20:53, 7 October 2006 (UTC)
Egg in the Basket
[edit]Just to answer your post on the above article's talk page, Toad in the Hole is generally a term referring to two sausages baked on top of a Yorkshire pudding. Although this may be different elsewhere in the world.

Hi,
You appear to be eligible to vote in the current Arbitration Committee election. The Arbitration Committee is the panel of editors responsible for conducting the Wikipedia arbitration process. It has the authority to enact binding solutions for disputes between editors, primarily related to serious behavioural issues that the community has been unable to resolve. This includes the ability to impose site bans, topic bans, editing restrictions, and other measures needed to maintain our editing environment. The arbitration policy describes the Committee's roles and responsibilities in greater detail. If you wish to participate, you are welcome to review the candidates' statements and submit your choices on the voting page. File source problem with File:MTQ exterior.jpg
[edit]Thank you for uploading File:MTQ exterior.jpg. I noticed that the file's description page currently doesn't specify who created the content, so the copyright status is unclear. If you did not create this file yourself, you will need to specify the owner of the copyright. If you obtained it from a website, please add a link to the page from which it was taken, together with a brief restatement of the website's terms of use of its content. If the original copyright holder is a party unaffiliated with the website, that author should also be credited. Please add this information by editing the image description page.
If the necessary information is not added within the next days, the image will be deleted. If the file is already gone, you can still make a request for undeletion and ask for a chance to fix the problem.
Please refer to the image use policy to learn what images you can or cannot upload on Wikipedia. Please also check any other files you have uploaded to make sure they are correctly tagged. Here is a list of your uploads. If you have any questions or are in need of assistance please ask them at the Media copyright questions page. Thank you.
ATTENTION: This is an automated, BOT-generated message. This bot DID NOT nominate your file(s) for deletion; please refer to the page history of each individual file for details. Thanks, FastilyBot (talk) 03:00, 5 July 2016 (UTC)

Tip for citations of Trove digitised newspapers
[edit]I noticed you added a citation to the Trove digitised newspapers to Mount Coolon, Queensland and noticed you did it the hard way. There is an easier and more accurate way to do it. When you are looking at the digitised newspaper article in Trove, look over to the left-hand tool bar for the icon of "i"-in-a-circle. Click it and then scroll down to the bottom of the list and you will find the Wikipedia citation already there for you to copy and paste in between <ref></ref>. Or if you are using the Visual Editor, use Cite > Manual > Basic and then paste in the citation and click on Insert. Note that in other facets of Trove, e.g. books, photos, journals, etc, there are Wikipedia citations for them too, just look for the "Cite this" button (with books, you will need to choose a specific edition to get the "Cite this" button). I hope this helps. Kerry (talk) 16:39, 22 October 2018 (UTC)
