Deletion of just created cat Category:Hittite capitals

No wonder this cat "wasn't working" - you deleted it minutes after I created it! Sheesh. But never mind undeleting, I just put the capitals in with the general cities cat, instead of losing track of them completely! You could also delete the mis-capitalized Category:Hittite Capitals while you're at it, because it now redirects to a red link. Sumerophile (talk) 20:55, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

You created a mainspace page Hittite capitals which only contained templates, making it eligible for deletion under the criteria for speedy deletion. Stifle (talk) 20:57, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
I hadn't had time to even change the cats in the articles to populate the new (correctly capitalized) cat! Sumerophile (talk) 21:02, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
Again - I deleted an article, not a category. You created a category in the mainspace. Stifle (talk) 13:59, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

I was developing the article on David Narcomey and unfortunately you deleted it.

Narcomey is important as he is a central figure in the FSU American Indian controversy and is quoted a number of times in articles on the subject in Wikipedia.

I believe that someone so instrumental in a controversy should have some background information available (i.e. an article), especially one so in the forefront of a sensitive matter. Such material helps the reader establish the relevance of the person in the controversy which leads to better interpretation of the controversy. I plan to further develop the article with sourced materials.

Would you kindly undelete the article?Sirberus (talk) 21:19, 18 April 2008 (UTC)

Can you please explain which of the criteria at WP:BIO he meets? Please also note WP:BLP1E. Stifle (talk) 21:30, 18 April 2008 (UTC)
I responded on my talk page. Sirberus (talk) 01:03, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
OK, I'll give you the benefit of the doubt and restore the article and AFD it. Stifle (talk) 14:00, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Careful

Or else they'll be attacking you...in America! Sorry, couldn't resist, but thanks for filing a CU, it gets rather tiring to revert over and over and over again. hbdragon88 (talk) 19:35, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Did you mean to delete this page and then forget or did someone recreate it?Divinediscourse (talk) 19:45, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

The second one. Deleted again. Thanks. Stifle (talk) 19:56, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Deletion of Krishanu Dey

Hi, I was in the middle of creating the page for Krishanu Dey, who was one of India's best football players. But before I could complete the page, you took the liberty of deleting the page. Why? Is it simply because as an administrator you enjoy administrative rights like the Chinese communist party?Shovon 20:20, 19 April 2008 (UTC) —Preceding unsigned comment added by Shovon76 (talkcontribs)

Thank you for your message. In future please use ~~~~ to sign your message.
If you'd run through my message wizard like the box at the top of this page suggested, you would have got to Wikipedia:Why was my page deleted?, which would have pointed you to the deletion log entry, which would tell you that Krishanu Dey was deleted under criterion 3 of Articles at Wikipedia:Criteria for speedy deletion, which is that the article had no substantive content. It consisted only of templates. Articles on Wikipedia are required to have actual text content.
While Wikipedia welcomes stub articles, a minimum of a few sentences is required. If you would like to work on an article, consider creating a user subpage before moving it when it is ready.
Regarding your last sentence, please read Wikipedia:Civility. Stifle (talk) 20:38, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Hey, Sorry about the last line. Actually I was pretty pissed off with my cellular service provider and their call center operators, and probably that had a trickle down effect on the message I left you. In any case, thanks for the suggestion for creating a subpage. Shovon 21:20, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
No worries. If you want I can restore the content that was there so far and move it to a user subpage to save you from rewriting it all. Stifle (talk) 21:24, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Thanks. I have already copied the code in notepad and will update it tomorrow morning. It's 2.58 am here and I am very very sleepy. :)Shovon 21:29, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

what????

No way I spent time on that article why delete it if almost everything there is true. Just find sources I've already done my work and I mean the article seems notable enough to me.

--Nicholas Weiner (talk) 20:56, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Sorry, I've no idea what page you're talking about. Please see Wikipedia:Why was my article deleted? for an answer to your question. Stifle (talk) 21:02, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Deleted page: NewGenerationGay Associaton

Title of page: NewGenerationGay Associaton Contents: Text and some photos

I don't understand why my page has been marked for Speedy Deletion . I did not do that to vandalize or to make a joke. That page was based on true information. If I wanted to vandalize, I wouldn't add pictures. That association really exists and if you read the news you'll see that it is true that they have discovered that males can be pregnant.I think you misunderstood my intentions.

Please Reply to me as soon as possible,

Best Regards,

Emperor Darius —Preceding unsigned comment added by Emperordarius (talkcontribs) 20:59, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

If NewGenerationGay Associaton really exists and is notable, it will have been written about in news media. Please provide me three links to internet news stories about the group and I will consider undeleting it. Stifle (talk) 21:05, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Deletion of article Cayman National Corporation

Hi, I'd like to know if it is at all possible to create an article for Cayman National Corporation, of any form. OR, are you only objecting to the form I put it in? Why do you consider it spam? Campoftheamericas (talk) 21:41, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Cayman National Corporation has several problems. It appears to be advertizing a company which doesn't seem notable. If you feel that the company is in fact notable and that this deletion was in error, please make a listing at Wikipedia:Deletion review. Stifle (talk) 21:44, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Rawings/Rawlings

I didn't redirect it because its an improbable spelling error and the entire correct article was copied to the bad location. Thanks for the help. LegoTech·(t)·(c) 22:01, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Your Deletion of Hank Eng bio page

I am writing to challenge your deletion of the page entitled "Hank Eng". The page covers in a factual and verifiable manner biographical information for Hank (Henry) Eng. He is the Democratic party candidate for the 6th Congressional District of Colorado. He has a significant level of name recognition in Colorado, Wisconsin and Internationally for his work with USAID and GE. Please would you kindly reinstate this page. If there is another reason that it was deleted, please would you clarify. Sincerely, I Douglas

Thank you for your message. In future, please sign your messages by typing ~~~~ at the end.
Please see Wikipedia:BIO#Politicians for the criteria which political candidates must meet to have a Wikipedia page. Hank Eng does not appear to meet those criteria.
While I'm happy to answer questions, it looks like your question could have been answered and resolved more quickly if you had used my message wizard. It's linked as "Talk" after my name and at the top of my talk page. Why not try it next time? Stifle (talk) 22:09, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Hogwarts New Zealand Page

I understand your reasons for deleting the page on Hogwarts New Zealand -- it does not provide encyclopedic knowledge nor does it help the general public. It could also be misconstrued as advertising. However, would it be acceptable to start a page on Harry Potter Role PLaying websites and use said site as a source? —Preceding unsigned comment added by Light theworld (talkcontribs) 22:16, 19 April 2008

Thank you for your message. In future, please sign your messages by typing ~~~~ at the end.
Yes, if you created that page on your own website. Please see Wikipedia:What Wikipedia is not for details on what Wikipedia should not be used for. Stifle (talk) 22:21, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
I can't seem to figure out how to reply with our preceding messages above mine, so you will have to excuse this. I also apologize for forgetting to sign my former message, I will try to remember that this time. ^_^
Why may I not create a page about the specifics of Harry Potter role playing? It would of course include quotes from JKR about how free she feels she has been about allowing Fan Fiction and about allowing role playing. Which will lead into a reference about the Law suit before her and RDR books, which she claims if RDR wins she may have to tighten the reigns and not allow as many freedoms as she has. I have been thinking about this for a while now, is such knowlegde not encyclopedic?
Light theworld (talk) 22:27, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Because Wikipedia is for articles about notable subjects which have been written about in reliable sources (see Wikipedia:Verifiability), and Harry Potter role playing doesn't seem to meet those requirements.
To continue a conversation just click Edit next to the title of the section you wish to change and add in your comment at the bottom. The more :s you put at the start of the line, the further indented it will be. Stifle (talk) 22:29, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
Reliable sources exist about such role playing, and J.K Rowling's feelings/beliefs about it. It is also very notable and prevalent on the internet.
Thank you for telling me how to continue a conversation. You've been quite helpful. Light theworld (talk) 22:34, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
You're welcome. If you can cite those reliable sources then I'll unlock the page title so you can recreate it. Stifle (talk) 22:38, 19 April 2008 (UTC)
As there are no sources for Hogwarts New Zealand then I do not need you to unlock that page, I will probably create a page titled "Harry Potter Role Playing" or something to that effect and go from there. I will site all the sources I find.
Thanks again!!! Light theworld (talk) 22:41, 19 April 2008 (UTC)

Apologies

It seems you are quite an excellent wikipedian! I apologise for putting my signature at the bottom of the page on Antonia Bernath, I am fairly new so therefore I don't have the wikipedian knowlege. sorry for causing you inconvenience! I really want to help wikipedians, like you helped me, but don't know where to start. I would love some advice! --Duckie for broadway (talk) 07:02, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Don't be sorry, it's fine! Read Wikipedia:Welcome, newcomers for more information for new users. Stifle (talk) 10:43, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Colegiul Naţional de Informatică Tudor Vianu page was deleted

Hello, i started the article about Tudor Vianu National College, one of the best high schools in Romania, and you deleted the page. The page was not finished, I saved the page only to be sure that the information will not be lost if my computer have a failure. I want to know why the page was deleted and also if I can write this page. Thank You.

--Razvanflorian (talk) 11:21, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Colegiul Naţional de Informatică Tudor Vianu was deleted under criterion 3 under articles in our criteria for speedy deletion, because it did not contain any actual content. Please don't create articles without at least a few sentences of prose about the subject. If you want to work on pages that are incomplete, use a user subpage. I've placed the contents of the article at User:Razvanflorian/Colegiul Naţional de Informatică Tudor Vianu and when you are finished you can move it to the article namespace. Stifle (talk) 11:25, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Thanks for the information. I will not repeat my mistake. --Razvanflorian (talk) 11:29, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Deleted and blocked Page titled "Fay Gale"

Hi. I am a newbie and tried to create the page "Fay Gale" and made lots of mistakes before I worked out what I was doing and the page is now blocked so I can't re-create it. It is a biography of a living person, Emeritus Professor Fay Gale, and I am her son so there is also an overlap. I have however created a draft at my mytalk page entitled draft Fay Gale biography. If you could pelase check that I think you would find she is notable and there are sufficent external references to her that overcome my overlap issue. Mjgale 13:51, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

The page is now unprotected. In future, if you are working on a page and it is not of a suitable minimum standard to be in the namespace, please use a user subpage. Stifle (talk) 18:04, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

deletion of Bulevar (band)

I'm sorry for disturbing you, but you have deleted an article about a Serbian rock band which is more significant than some of the existing artcles about bands, for instance The Stone to Flesh or Borislav Mitic. The biography of the band is improtant for those who are interested in the works of the members of the group as well as the people involved with the group's work. If you are able to return the article to it's deserved position (among famous Serbian bands) I, with a number of people involved with presenting Serbian rock scene to the world, would be grateful. If the article needed more information, other sources could be found to make it look more complete. —Preceding unsigned comment added by Milosppf (talkcontribs) 14:08, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you for your message. In future, please sign your messages by typing ~~~~ at the end.
On a second look I think it just about meets the criteria for inclusion for bands. I will restore it but you need to add more references, preferably from reliable sources. Stifle (talk) 18:07, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Silent poets article deletion

Dear mr. Stifle,

I didn't understand why was the "Silent Poets" article deleted. The reason given was "Group/band/club/company/etc; doesn't indicate importance/significance". It was strange to found out this, cause Silent Poets made a great contribution to world's electronic music. And I suppose this band is as valuable as Kid Loco, DJ Krush and many others which have wikipedia articles. So, I hope you restore the article to be finished by me.

I've restored the page to User:Pmod/Silent poets. Stifle (talk) 18:23, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Thank you. I've got about signing the posts. Sorry. Am I right that it will be OK with the article after improving? BR!Pavel Modilaynen (talk) 20:23, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

I'm sure it will be, but make sure you include details of how the band is notable, and cite reliable sources to verify that. Stifle (talk) 20:29, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Article deletion for Polyglot Systems

An entry was made on April 19th for Polyglot Systems, a entity that deals with language access issues in healthcare. As we entered our information in Wiki, it has been apparent to us that Wiki does not contain information regarding minority health, language, and cultural issues in health care. This is a domain of our expertise that we wish to contribute to Wikipedia regarding legal precedent, census statistics, etc. I ask that you reconsider reposting our entry for Polyglot Systems.

Hmurakami (talk) 18:25, 20 April 2008 (UTC)

Polyglot Systems, Inc. does not seem to be notable (see the guidelines for inclusion of companies) and was deleted per the criteria for speedy deletion. You can recreate it if you want but must explain how it meets the guidelines for inclusion and include citations from reliable sources to comply with our verifiability policy.
