If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Sylvia Kwenani 201035383 requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the article or image appears to be a clear copyright infringement. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images borrowed from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition will most likely be deleted. You may use external websites as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to modify it — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. If you are not the owner of the external website or image but have permission from that owner, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission. You might want to look at Wikipedia's policies and guidelines for more details, or ask a question here.

If you think that the page was nominated in error, contest the nomination by clicking on the button labelled "Click here to contest this speedy deletion" in the speedy deletion tag. Doing so will take you to the talk page where you can explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. You can also visit the page's talk page directly to give your reasons, but be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag yourself, but do not hesitate to add information that is consistent with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. Hi, Sylvia

[edit]

I know you're on the Polytechnic project, so I'd like to give you some tips. One is to be careful about titles - you may have posted the article by accident, but do check that things are right first before moving things or putting a title on something. Another is that you mustn't copy things into Wikipedia from other places. It is OK to copy in something you have written on a word processor, but not something someone else has written somewhere else. If things that belong to other people get onto Wikipedia, we could be in trouble. If you want to know more about copyright matters, look at WP:COPYVIO which tells you quite a lot about copyright. I've deleted the article with your user name as its title, and also your user page, because both contained a copy of something from The Namibian. It looks like an easy way to make an article, doesn't it? Doesn't work, though. We have people who check new edits, and we have bots that look for copyright things too (and other stuff as well, of course...). Don't ask me how the bots do it. I know how the people do it - I used to do it before I became an administrator. After a time, we get to know the difference between 'article written here' and 'thing copied from outside', and it only takes a moment to do a Google check. You have to write your own article. Do it in your user space, at User:Sylvia Kwenani 201035383/DRAFT and don't be afraid to ask for advice. Looking things up on Wikipedia is easy, but writing things is not so easy. Most of the regular people here are willing to spend a few minutes explaining things to someone who is new. You might be feeling that we are unfriendly and looking to delete things. Yes, we have to delete things that don't belong, but we do like to help people make new articles that really do belong. And we are friendly. Well, most of us are. There are a few grumps (not many), but you needn't bother about them. If they say 'go away', then go away - and ask someone else instead. Good luck with your next try. THIS IS IMPORTANT

[edit]

Sylvia, you MUST NOT post that text in Wikipedia. If someone is telling you that you should do it, show them this. I am an administrator here, and I am telling you that you must not do it. You must write your own article in your own words. If you go on doing it, you might get blocked from editing and then you won't get your work done. Believe me, I'm not making this up. Read the policy WP:COPYVIO and ask me or another regular editor or administrator about anything you don't understand in it. You must not copy someone else's text. You must write your own text.
