Information icon Hello, I'm Idontknowwhattouseasmyusername300. I wanted to let you know that one or more of your recent contributions to SkillsUSA have been undone because they did not appear constructive. If you would like to experiment, please use your sandbox. If you have any questions, you can ask for assistance at the Teahouse or the Help desk. Thanks. Username concern[edit]

Welcome to Wikipedia. I noticed that your username, "TBD Staff", may not meet Wikipedia's username policy because the term "staff" suggests an account shared by multiple people, which is prohibited on Wikipedia; each account must represent only an individual person. If you believe that your username does not violate our policy, please leave a note here explaining why. As an alternative, you may ask for a change of username by completing the form at Special:GlobalRenameRequest, or you may simply create a new account for editing. Thank you. ~Anachronist (talk) 18:56, 26 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

September 2023[edit]

Your account has been blocked from editing Wikipedia because your username, TBD Staff, does not comply with Wikipedia's username policy. Your username is the principal reason for the block. You are welcome to continue editing after you have chosen a new username that complies with Wikipedia's username policy, which is summarized below.
Under Wikipedia's username policy, a username should represent an individual person. It should not: represent a group or organization; represent a role or job title in a group or organization; be promotional; be misleading (such as implying possession of special user or administrative rights, implying that the account has any kind of "power" or "authority" over other users, or being an unapproved "bot" account); nor be offensive or otherwise disruptive. A username that contains the name of an organization is allowed only if it also identifies you individually, such as "Sara Smith at XYZ Company" or "Mark at WidgetsUSA". The guidance on conflict of interest and the policy on paid-contribution disclosure are also relevant.
Please take a moment to either create a new account, or request a username change of your current account here. The new username that you choose must comply with Wikipedia's username policy.
  • To create a new account with a different username, simply log out of this account and then click here to make a new one.
  • If you prefer to change the username of this account, you may do so by adding the following text to the bottom of your talk page (this page): {{unblock-un|new username|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can go here to search and see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is available to be taken.

Appeals: If your username is not in violation of Wikipedia's username policy, and if you believe that this block was incorrect or made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the following text to the bottom of your user talk page here: {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}}.

Thank you. Orange Mike | Talk 01:26, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

My username has been changed. Please unblock, thank you TBD Vlad (talk) 19:12, 27 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Accept reason:

Account renamed, so I will remove the block. 331dot (talk) 10:25, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

What is TBD, and what do you do as their staff member? 331dot (talk) 08:33, 28 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

That's a very personal question, as I do not feel comfortable disclosing my role in the company on Wikipedia. TBD on the other hand is a UK Film Company.

I don't need to know your specific role at the company- but if you work for the company and you intend to edit about its films, clients, or the company itself, you will need to make the Terms of Use required paid editing disclosure and be familiar with conflict of interest. Will that be okay with you? 331dot (talk) 10:18, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Yes that's absolutely fine. I understand the disclosure requirements.

Information icon Hello and welcome to Wikipedia. When you add content to talk pages and Wikipedia pages that have open discussion (but never when editing articles), please be sure to sign your posts. There are two ways to do this. Either:

  1. Add four tildes ( ~~~~ ) at the end of your comment, or
  2. With the cursor positioned at the end of your comment, click on the signature button located above the edit window.

This will automatically insert a signature with your username or IP address and the time you posted the comment. This information is necessary to allow other editors to easily see who wrote what and when.

Thank you. 331dot (talk) 10:29, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]

Also, read WP:PAID and put the paid editing template on your user page. Do not edit further until you do this. This is a mandatory, legal obligation to which you agreed to abide by when you created this account. ~Anachronist (talk) 20:07, 29 September 2023 (UTC)[reply]
You placed the correct disclosure, though you had coding in place to suppress its proper display, I have fixed this. 331dot (talk) 09:09, 2 October 2023 (UTC)[reply]

A tag has been placed on Draft:TBD Media Group, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, group, product, service, person, or point of view and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.
