Hey TML

[edit]

Can you please help the SCW overview map by adding any recent frontline changes you might remember? It'll be useful for that map to at least get good enough to draw on for image maps. Nuke (talk) 05:29, 7 February 2018 (UTC)[reply]

THANK YOU.

[edit]

Alot of us really needed a road map for the template. The moment I reloaded the template and saw this, I was happy, like alot. Thank you. BlookyNapsta (talk) 02:44, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

You’re welcome! The only improvement I can make on it is converting it from png to svg and I’m currently doing research on online svg converters since I only have the phone right now. But I can’t make any promises on this. TheMapLurker (talk) 02:51, 10 August 2020 (UTC)[reply]

I found the holy grail.

@BlookyNapsta Alright, thank you for bringing this to my attention.

Burma map

[edit]

Terrific map, I would like to add that towns such as Laukkai and Hopang are entirely controlled by the Wa state. Also Bhamo is controlled by government. NDAA controls Mong Pawk and Mong La and KIA holds Laiza. Also helpful to SAD and SAZ zones See: File:SAZs & SAD of Burma.png, note Palaung and Pa'O SAZ is not under ceasefire anymore due to the fluid situation now. Road Map Overlay SVG request for Russo-Ukrainian War detailed map

[edit]

Hi @TheMapLurker, I was wondering If I could ask a favor from you for improvement of the ukrainian war map https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Template:Russo-Ukrainian_War_detailed_map . I noticed that you had created an svg file for the maps for the Afghan War https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Afghanistan_Road_Map_Overlay.svg as well as contributed to the Syrian Civil war road map https://commons.wikimedia.org/w/index.php?title=File:Syria_location_map_road_overlay.svg and I was really impressed with the details of your work, and they really helped in understanding the significance of different towns and cities along the road and overall created a lot of value for both the Syrian and Afghan war map, I was wondering if its possible to request for something like that for the Ukrainian war map, I noticed that you are also a contributer to Module:Russo-Ukrainian War detailed map. I think the wikipedia community and the open source community and even casual observers trying to learn more would benefit greatly from your work in helping to understand this conflict. Thanks! Midgetman433 (talk) 02:40, 14 March 2022 (UTC)[reply]

@Midgetman433 I am already collaborating with a friend of mine to generate the road map for Ukraine that I can then convert for use in this war map. It should be ready soon-ish.

Myanmar detailed map

[edit]

Hey! I wondered if you possibly had access to the data for the module and template for the Myanmar detailed map that was deleted [1]?

If a new version can be created that is more properly sourced regarding the control of towns and villages, it would be useful for the Myanmar civil war (2021–present) article. AntonSamuel (talk) 10:34, 26 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]

I'm pretty sure I don't have access to the data for the module and template that was deleted, but if it's brought back then I would certainly make a new road map for it. TheMapLurker (talk) 21:21, 27 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Ok! I found the module and template through Wayback Machine [2], [3]- would this be sufficient? AntonSamuel (talk) 10:54, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
This would indeed be sufficient, but I'm loath to recreate it only for it to be deleted again. TheMapLurker (talk) 20:47, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Perhaps individual/batches of towns and villages can be added gradually with reliable sources provided regarding their control in the edit summary? As I understood the lack of sources was the main reason for the deletion. The conflict has also seen more media attention lately so the situation has changed since its deletion. AntonSamuel (talk) 21:35, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
Hmmmmm
I wonder if I can base it off the townships map in the Myanmar Civil War article, and then go from there. TheMapLurker (talk) 21:51, 28 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
it's been restored

Featuring your map in my new video

[edit]

Hi! I have used a map you made on Wikipedia in 2020 in introduction to my new YouTube video link :). Have a great day! Borysk5 (talk) 08:19, 31 January 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Sourcing detailed map updates

[edit]

Hey, just wanted to say that if you want to update the map with a territorial change, like you did for the NDAA entering Mong Yawng, you should also include an update to the town's page as well so that people can see a description of the event there and also follow the reliable source citation to know where the information is coming from. Thanks! CrazyMagicPickle (talk) 15:55, 25 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]
