DYK for Red (Taylor Swift album)

On 5 August 2021, Did you know was updated with a fact from the article Red (Taylor Swift album), which you recently created, substantially expanded, or brought to good article status. The fact was ... that the title of the album Red by Taylor Swift refers to the tumultuous "red" emotions that were evoked from an unhealthy romance she was experiencing during the album's conception? You are welcome to check how many pageviews the nominated article or articles got while on the front page (here's how, Red (Taylor Swift album)), and if they received a combined total of at least 416.7 views per hour (i.e., 5,000 views in 12 hours or 10,000 in 24), the hook may be added to the statistics page. Finally, if you know of an interesting fact from another recently created article, then please feel free to suggest it on the Did you know talk page.

Hello, TheSandDoctor,

Just a head's up, this draft you created was just deleted as a CSD G13. I thought you might want to know and it looks like Firefly Bot didn't give you advance notice in July. Liz Read! Talk! 00:01, 16 August 2021 (UTC)

Question

I just wondering if you were going to follow up with some admin action on this user, who is continuing to edit with a user name that makes their account look like it is a "bot" account? User_talk:Lesabot#August_2021. - Ahunt (talk) 18:06, 21 August 2021 (UTC)

Hi there @Ahunt:. I wasn't planning to engage in that any further. I can't change it without consent and don't see a strong enough reason to block here as they aren't being bot-like and their explanation/translation is reasonable. I'd recommend we just leave them be. --TheSandDoctor Talk 23:05, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
Okay, thanks. - Ahunt (talk) 23:07, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
@Ahunt: happy to help. Wikipedia:Username policy#Request for comment would be the venue to address this given the disagreement if someone disagrees with me and wanted to open it to an RfC. cc Jonesey95 for awareness of this convo. --TheSandDoctor Talk 23:10, 21 August 2021 (UTC)
I can't be bothered to escalate it. We did the first necessary notifications and offered a good resolution, and they only have like 50 edits. If they behave badly, their user name will compound their trouble. That's what those of us in the parenting biz call a "natural consequence". – Jonesey95 (talk) 01:01, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

Paint It Black

Hello:

The copy edit you requested from the Guild of Copy Editors of the article "Paint It Black" is completed.

Please let me know if you have any questions or concerns.

I'll draw a couple of things to your attention. In the Critical reception and legacysection one of the citations is lacking a page number. I tagged it. I did a quick, cursory check of the citations as I worked on the article adding WP links to many of them, but since you had done extensive work on them earlier, they were not a priority. No doubt the FA reviewer will be very thorough.

In the Release section you discuss the song being added to Aftermath in the U.S., where it replaced "Mother's Little Helper". The original text said: "replacing 'Mother's Little Helper', which proved controversial in the UK." I assume from this, the topic/lyrics of "MLH" were controversial in the UK and to avoid the same scenario in the US the label replaced it with "PIB". For this reason, I changed the verb to "had proved". If this is not the case, you'll want to fix it. If my interpretation is correct (supported by the source) perhaps better wording would be "replacing 'Mother's Little Helper' to avoid the controversy its release had caused in the UK."

Also In the Critical reception and legacy section, I rewrote and masked one paragraph omitting the details of the song's placement on various lists. If a reader is curious about the actual position, they can always check the source. Most FA reviewers prefer this sort of summary. Please feel free to use it if you think it would improve the article.

Best of luck with the FA process when you get to it.

Twofingered Typist (talk) 13:48, 22 August 2021 (UTC)

@Twofingered Typist: Thank you! I added the page number to the critical reception & legacy section. Thank you for pointing that out. Your interpretation for "Release" matched the source and so implemented that as it is a good idea. Do you think that it stands a chance at FAC? --TheSandDoctor Talk 17:00, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
A lot of work has been done to bring the article along to this point, so I'd like to think it does have a change as a FA. All you can do is nominate it. Twofingered Typist (talk) 18:17, 22 August 2021 (UTC)
