  • The problem is verification. Unfortunately while you claim to be the owner of StjJackson you likely cannot prove you are the owner of StjJackson and there may be some risk, albeit small, you may be an impostor (These things happen to genuine people, some people have spouses/partners who lose their phone down the toilet screwing up means easily of removing facebook and emails for which password can't be remembered or requires additional authentication). See also Help:Logging in#What if I forget the password? if you haven't already. Good luck.Djm-leighpark (talk) 07:08, 22 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Flag icons in infoboxes

[edit]

I've reverted your edits adding flag icons to the infobox of Richard Howe, 1st Earl Howe. See WP:INFOBOXFLAG. Quote: flag icons should not be used in infoboxes, even when there is a "country", "nationality" or equivalent field. regards John beta (talk) 03:44, 28 January 2020 (UTC)[reply]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Race for the White House, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page Adlai Stevenson (check to confirm | fix with Dab solver). Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

Discretionary sanctions

[edit]

This is a standard message to notify contributors about an administrative ruling in effect. It does not imply that there are any issues with your contributions to date.

You have shown interest in post-1992 politics of the United States and closely related people. Due to past disruption in this topic area, a more stringent set of rules called discretionary sanctions is in effect. Any administrator may impose sanctions on editors who do not strictly follow Wikipedia's policies, or the page-specific restrictions, when making edits related to the topic.

For additional information, please see the guidance on discretionary sanctions and the Arbitration Committee's decision here. If you have any questions, or any doubts regarding what edits are appropriate, you are welcome to discuss them with me or any other editor.

Copying within Wikipedia requires attribution

[edit]

Information icon Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia. It appears that you copied or moved text from Richard Paul Pavlick into Presidential transition of John F. Kennedy. While you are welcome to re-use Wikipedia's content, here or elsewhere, Wikipedia's licensing does require that you provide attribution to the original contributor(s). When copying within Wikipedia, this is supplied at minimum in an edit summary at the page into which you've copied content, disclosing the copying and linking to the copied page, e.g., copied content from [[page name]]; see that page's history for attribution. It is good practice, especially if copying is extensive, to also place a properly formatted {{copied}} template on the talk pages of the source and destination. Please provide attribution for this duplication if it has not already been supplied by another editor, and if you have copied material between pages before, even if it was a long time ago, you should provide attribution for that also. You can read more about the procedure and the reasons at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. Thank you. If you are the sole author of the prose that was copied, attribution is not required. — Diannaa (talk) 00:13, 4 January 2022 (UTC)[reply]

Flag icons in infoboxes, Again

[edit]

Hi, please don't add flags to certain infoboxes, such as you did on McDonnell Douglas F-15 Eagle today, and on AGM-181 LRSO a week ago. {{Infobox weapon}} is specifically mentioned as not using flag icons by MOS:INFOBOXFLAG, which also applies to {{Infobox aircraft type}}, as per its documentation. Opinion request

[edit]

Hello colleague,

I am interested in the Middle Ages too.

I created Category:Medieval civilizations which is part of Category:Civilizations by time. The former is nominated for deletion and at the moment the vote is 2:0 in favor of deletion. I am used to deletions, but this time I am stunned. I do not believe there is no place for such a category. I believe that most people with interest in history would agree that civilizations existed in the Middle Ages. I ask people to contribute their opinion to the discussion. Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia, and thank you for your contributions. Although everyone is welcome to contribute constructively to the encyclopedia, please note that there is a Manual of Style that should be followed to maintain a consistent, encyclopedic appearance. Deviating from this style, as you did in Battle of Island Flats, disturbs uniformity among articles and may cause readability or accessibility problems. Please take a look at the welcome page to learn more about contributing to this encyclopedia. Thank you. GenQuest "scribble" 05:23, 6 November 2023 (UTC)[reply]
