[edit]
Your account has been blocked indefinitely from editing Wikipedia because it appears to be mainly intended for publicity and/or promotional purposes. If you intend to edit constructively in other topic areas, you may be granted the right to continue under a change of username. Please read the following carefully.
Why can't I edit Wikipedia?

Your account's edits and/or username indicate that it is being used on behalf of a company, group, website or organization for purposes of promotion and/or publicity. The edits may have violated one or more of our rules on spamming, which include: adding inappropriate external links, posting advertisements and using Wikipedia for promotion. Wikipedia has many articles on companies, groups, and organizations, but such groups are generally discouraged from using Wikipedia to write about themselves. In addition, usernames like yours are disallowed under our username policy.

Am I allowed to make these edits if I change my username?

Probably not, although if you can demonstrate a pattern of future editing in strict accordance with our neutral point of view policy, you may be granted this right. See Wikipedia's FAQ for Organizations for a helpful list of frequently asked questions by people in your position. Also, review the conflict of interest guidance to see the kinds of limitations you would have to obey if you did want to continue editing about your company, group, organization, or clients. If this does not fit in with your goals, then you will not be allowed to edit Wikipedia again.

What can I do now?

If you have no interest in writing about some other topic than your organization, group, company, or product, you may consider using one of the many websites that allow this instead.

If you do intend to make useful contributions here about some other topic, you must convince a Wikipedia administrator that you mean it. To that end, please do the following:

  • Add the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} on your user talk page.
  • Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with a new username you are willing to use. See Special:Listusers to search for available usernames. Your new username will need to meet our username policy.
  • Replace the text "Your reason here" with your reason to be unblocked. In this reason, you must:
    • Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the edits for which you were blocked.
    • Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked.
If you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal this block by adding the text {{unblock|Your reason here}} below, but you should read the guide to appealing blocks first.

Your username indicates a conflict of interest. The article at your userpage appeared to be promotional and included your website in the first sentence. If you think your organization is notable, please provide lots of good, thrid-party media references per WP:42.

Also, are you interested in helping to build the encyclopedia without adding any content related to you or your organization? If so, please let me know and I can unblock you. Anna Frodesiak (talk) 14:25, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

The page is not for promotion. It is informational for a non-profit association. My boss gave me the assignment of making a wiki page for his association. I just did my assignment. I linked to the website on accident inca people wanted more information because what is on wikipedia is but a summary. I will take the link out if need beThe American Bio-Recovery Association (talk) 16:06, 1 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Sure looks like promo to me. Whatever your boss wants does not override the rules and procedures of this site. One of these is WP:SPAM. Another is WP:USERNAME. I'd advise reading these, as they are what you're blocked for. Also, please read WP:TOS, especially if you are getting paid for editing - non-profit or profit organisation doesn't matter here. If you want to make any further unblock requests, please read the guide to appealing blocks first, then use the {{unblock}} template again. If you make too many unconvincing or disruptive unblock requests, you may be prevented from editing this page until your block has expired. Do not remove this unblock review while you are blocked.

Request reason:

Again, I do not understand the issue. This page is not promoting a service or product. It is explain a non-profit organization. There are many wikipedia pass like it. I just made the mistake of including a link and as I said I would tae th link out but I can't as I am blocked and cannot fix the age to meet regulation.The American Bio-Recovery Association (talk) 13:07, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

Firstly, you need to change your username to a name that is unconnected to any organisation or product, so for your next unblock request you should use the text:
{{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}}

Secondly, I am unconvinced that you should be editing articles where you have a significant conflict of interest. PhilKnight (talk) 14:12, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Whether it is for a commercial product or service or a non-profit organization is irrelevant, as you are not allowed to use Wikipedia to promote organizations of any kind. Also, your username is still problematic. Did you read WP:SPAM, WP:USERNAME or WP:TOS as suggested above? Squinge (talk) 13:39, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

And as for other "similar" Wikipedia pages, on the whole you'll find they are written in a neutral and non-promotional manner (see WP:NPOV), are supported by multiple independent sources which satisfy the requirements at WP:RS and which provide evidence of notability, and they are not written by the organizations themselves. Squinge (talk) 13:43, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
I can't see any mention of the link in the reasons for blocking - and it wasn't the main reason for the block. That was the distinctly promotional way the thing was written, and my decline to unblock included the additional reason of your user name. So far as I am concerned, there is no chance of an unblock without a change of name, which will mean using the unblock for change of name template which you will find in the new big sandy coloured box at the top - I think Anna F used the wrong warning before. But I'm still not convinced that you understand what is wrong with being promotional, or cannot see that what you posted WAS promotional, at least so far as an encyclopaedia is concerned. Peridon (talk) 13:58, 6 April 2015 (UTC}
The blocking notice is now the correct one for the reasons given in the blocking log record. Peridon (talk) 14:02, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

Your reason should go here

Decline reason:

Nothing you have said suggests that you are likely to do anything other than use Wikipedia to publicise your organisation, which, as must by now be clear to you, is contrary to Wikipedia policy. For some reason, a significant number of people, evidently including you, think that the word "promotion" can refer only to promotion for commercial gain, but Wikipedia policy does not use the word in that narrowly restricted sense. The editor who uses the pseudonym "JamesBWatson" (talk) 19:40, 7 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

Please note that Wikipedia talk pages work top to bottom, and discussion is generally continued at bottom of the page rather than the top. Squinge (talk) 14:54, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]

The suggested name should go in where it says 'Your proposed new username' - I've put it there for you. Where it says 'Your reason should go here', your reason for unblocking should be put. I would think 'Bio-Recovery' is too close to pass, but you might be lucky. Peridon (talk) 17:04, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
You should also address the issue of paid editing at some point. Peridon (talk) 17:05, 6 April 2015 (UTC)[reply]
