I am alarmed at all you have deleted.

This profile has been up for quite a long time. No other editor ever asked that all SELECTED ARTICLES be removed. In fact, a WIKI editor included the sub-topic, SELECTED ARTICLES.

Additionally, you have removed two photographs!

I would like the photographs to remain on the page and some SELECTED ARTICLES.

Well, OTRS is basically an open email system with volunteers who handle mail directed at the foundation. I myself am only active in a few queues for permissions—mostly dealing with images that copyright holders are releasing freely. It's a more personal and generally more secure way of identifying the people. Basically the ticket you linked to is from the Enough Project saying that they release the text of the web page you linked to freely under CC-by-SA 3.0. However, just because it's free to use doesn't mean that we should copy it; whoever put the "resume" tag on the article did so rightly, as the entire thing is a copied resume from the Enough Project... honestly it really needs to be rewritten (though the messages above suggest that you're facing an uphill climb.) Body of an American - The wire

Hi The Interior - You make a fair point, and I may have been a little hasty. Having had another look at it, I think what irked me was the actual sentence used (it's credited to an IP address, so apologies if it was yourself who wrote it on a non logged-in session), as it's a bit random/vague - "the Irish song the Police sing along to". How about something like the following:

"A recurring piece of music used throughout the series is The Pogues Body of an American, which is always played at the detectives wakes at Kavanaugh's Bar."

Template talk

Sure! I started creating them a couple months ago... I basically just went around to various music templates I liked, copied the framework and tinkered with it (eventually you develop a rhythm). Check out my page (User:Wikkitywack) - I have a list of all the templates I've created with links. For some of the more involved ones, check out {{Merle Haggard}} or {{Waylon Jennings}} - and for examples of band member organization check out {{Showaddywaddy}} (awesome name, eh?) or {{SNFU}} (under "Substantial Edits"). Also, I didn't know Blackbook was considered a "trade magazine" (it doesn't really look like one on the website www.blackbookmag.com, it sorta seems like it is about everything), if it would have said "trade magazine" on the page (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BlackBook_Magazine) I probably wouldn't have been going crazy this whole time.

Re: DYK clarification

Technically, you are right. But please consider three points:

• WP is (should not be...) a bureaucracy
• the first time an editor writes something DYK eligible, they are likely to miss some deadline; but going easy on them (and telling them that next time we won't) makes a friendly editing atmosphere and encourages them to write more DYKs
• the article in question was written by a student (see his/her talk page) who was not supposed to go "live" as early as s/he did; s/he made an error and despite having one of the best articles in his/her class, she now stands to loose out on the main page feature...

Thanks for your note. I used the "page size" tool for that estimate, but I'm not familiar with it and may have misinterpreted the results. There's no need for you to feel badly. We're all just doing the best we can and there's no reason you would have given the article special scrutiny, especially considering the editor. That said, there's been considerable discussion over whether the DYK process creates incentives that reward quantity over quality. I just got on wiki and read a message about this "Did you know" thing. It would seem I nominated a Korean War article I created recently for DYK but I think there is some misunderstanding. I'm not sure what all this is so as far as I know I did not request anything about that article. I think I understand a little better now but as for the "war crime" statement, the North Koreans did exactly what convicted war criminals in the German submarine force were doing in WW2. (firing on survivors from sunken ships). Thanks! Everyone likes an attagirl (or attaboy). I agree, gorgeous city. I dont understand what the fuss is about with San Miguel Allende as it totally pales in comparison.... well except maybe the Sanctuary of Atotonilco. Working on expanding Guanajuato state at home and Coyoacán at work (dont tell my boss). Dont know why I find this so addictive!
