Information icon Welcome to Wikipedia and thank you for your contributions. I am glad to see that you are discussing a topic. However, as a general rule, talk pages such as Talk:FC Barcelona are for discussion related to improving the article in specific ways based on reliable sources and the project policies and guidelines, not for general discussion about the topic or unrelated topics, or statements based on your thoughts or feelings. If you have specific questions about certain topics, consider visiting our reference desk and asking them there instead of on article talk pages. Thank you. Articles and categories[edit]

Hello, The turn of events o,

I see you're a new editor on Wikipedia so I'd like to explain the difference between articles and categories. Articles consist of content (text & images) about a certain topic. Categories are used to organize articles and pages and, ordinarily, do not contain content except for a brief description of the category contents. A category like Category:Variants of John contains content, can not be used for any article except for John (given name) and, worse, is empty. On Wikipedia, empty categories are deleted so the 3 categories you created are tagged for deletion.

If you'd like to see a proper category on a similar subject, look at Category:Irish masculine given names and you can see how we use categories. If you have questions, ask me or go to the Teahouse which is a place where new editors can ask any questions they have about editing. Liz Read! Talk! 06:22, 26 February 2019 (UTC)[reply]
