You're right of course: .21.W -- Ravi Shastri couldn't score off the first ball, and the 2nd ball he had to step down the track to pick up a couple of important runs. The 3rd ball, Shastri played a wristy push to squareleg to take a quick single. Thus exposing the last batsman Maninder Singh, who was a typical No.11 of those days. We harldy see a typical No.11 these days however. Maninder couldn't score off the fourth ball of the over and India still needed 1 run to win and Australia had to either bowl two dot balls or dismiss Maninder. Greg Mathews took the second option and bowled a sharp offbreak and Maninder was wrapped on his pads. Copyvio question

When a page has been reported as a copyvio and the template is in place- you shouldn't remove or write anything under the template since the page needs to be deleted to remove the copyvio from the history. However, on the template there is a link to a temporary subpage- you can rewrite article on the temporary page and then the new page will be moved back to the correct name when the original page has been deleted. Common names of cricketers

Absolutely, yes please. My original intention was going to be to include the full names of the cricketers (middle names excluded) and then pipe to the common names, but that solution is much neater.

I'm planning to include a list of names on there soon from other, non-test playing countries such as Denmark, France, Italy, Papua, and several others. See what I can do. Maybe too ambitious.

You placed a speedy delete tag on Forest clay. However, you used {{delete}} which indicates no reason for the suggested deletion, nor did you supply a reason in your edit summery. Please use {{db}} in future, or one of the specialized templates, such as {{db-bio}}. This makes it much easier for the deleting admin. Also, when tagging an article with {{db-bio}} (or its alternate name {{nn-bio}}) it is suggested that you notify the creator of the page with {{nn-warn}}. well theres a mistake here...thampis are the children of the ruler and a high caste nair lady while unnithan/unnithiri and valiathan are children of kshatriyas who have no claim to the throne....in the keralamahatmayam they are called Samantha kshatriyas...manu

BlackJack articles

Tintin, I agree with you. I collaborate with George on here about philately but he's also a cricket fan and he thinks my articles should get recognition, which is nice of him. I went along with him up to a point but, no, a line should be drawn. I accept his right to put me in the List of works by cricket historians and writers if he wants to; but the more I think about it, he's wrong about the sources unless someone else had used my ACS version to create the WP version. But they didn't. I was the author of both and so I cannot become the source of the second. The sources must be the same in any version I write. If I one day write a book of all this material, the sources will still be Buckley, Waghorn & Co.
