Information icon Hello. Thank you for your contributions to Wikipedia.

When editing Wikipedia, there is a field labeled "Edit summary" below the main edit box. It looks like this:

Edit summary (Briefly describe your changes)

Please be sure to provide a summary of every edit you make, even if you write only the briefest of summaries. The summaries are very helpful to people browsing an article's history.

Edit summary content is visible in:

Please use the edit summary to explain your reasoning for the edit, or a summary of what the edit changes. You can give yourself a reminder to add an edit summary by setting Preferences → Editing → check Prompt me when entering a blank edit summary. Thanks! Information icon Hello, I'm Northamerica1000. I noticed that you recently removed content from Elo Rating System for football without adequately explaining why. In the future, it would be helpful to others if you described your changes to Wikipedia with an accurate edit summary. If this was a mistake, don't worry; the removed content has been restored. If you would like to experiment, please use the sandbox. If you think I made a mistake, or if you have any questions, you can leave me a message on my talk page. Thanks. An article you recently created, 2018–19 Primera División (women), does not have enough sources and citations as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). I've moved your page to draft space (with a prefix of Draft: before the article title) where you can work on it with minimal disruption. When you feel that it meets our notability and neutrality requirements, and is thus ready for mainspace, please submit it using the Articles for Creation template on the page. Notice

The article England–Spain football rivalry has been proposed for deletion because of the following concern:

There is no rivalry of note between these nations. The creator has not even attempted to explain why there should be an article, either in text or via refs. It's just a raw list without any citations. The equivalent on the Spanish wiki is equally sparse so there's nothing to copy over, and their wider [[:es:Rivalidades de la selección de fútbol de España#Inglaterra

While all constructive contributions to Wikipedia are appreciated, pages may be deleted for any of several reasons.

You may prevent the proposed deletion by removing the {{proposed deletion/dated}} notice, but please explain why in your edit summary or on the article's talk page.

Please consider improving the page to address the issues raised. Removing {{proposed deletion/dated}} will stop the proposed deletion process, but other deletion processes exist. In particular, the speedy deletion process can result in deletion without discussion, and articles for deletion allows discussion to reach consensus for deletion.

Your draft article, Draft:2019 Algarve Cup squads[edit]

Hello, Txikon. It has been over six months since you last edited the Articles for Creation submission or Draft page you started, "2019 Algarve Cup squads".

In accordance with our policy that Wikipedia is not for the indefinite hosting of material deemed unsuitable for the encyclopedia mainspace, the draft has been nominated for deletion. If you plan on working on it further, or editing it to address the issues raised if it was declined, simply edit the submission and remove the {{db-afc}}, {{db-draft}}, or {{db-g13}} code.

If your submission has already been deleted by the time you get there, and you wish to retrieve it, you can request its undeletion by following the instructions at this link. An administrator will, in most cases, restore the submission so you can continue to work on it.

Thank you for your submission to Wikipedia! CASSIOPEIA(talk) 02:32, 2 September 2019 (UTC)[reply]

May 2021[edit]

Information icon Hello, and welcome to Wikipedia. You appear to be repeatedly reverting or undoing other editors' contributions. Although this may seem necessary to protect your preferred version of a page, on Wikipedia this is known as "edit warring" and is usually seen as obstructing the normal editing process, as it often creates animosity between editors. Instead of reverting, please discuss the situation with the editor(s) involved and try to reach a consensus on the talk page.

If editors continue to revert to their preferred version they are likely to lose their editing privileges on that page. This isn't done to punish an editor, but to prevent the disruption caused by edit warring. In particular, editors should be aware of the three-revert rule, which says that an editor must not perform more than three reverts on a single page within a 24-hour period. Edit warring on Wikipedia is not acceptable in any amount, and violating the three-revert rule is very likely to result in loss of your editing privileges.

Note that there is an existing discussion, at Wikipedia_talk:WikiProject_Football/Archive_141#World_Football_Elo_Ratings, which explicitly found that there was a consensus to remove the tables. Persistently adding them back in, and trying to slip under the radar, is disruptive and may get you blocked even if you do not violate the 3-revert rule. Thanks, RandomCanadian (talk / contribs) 13:53, 31 May 2021 (UTC)[reply]

Disambiguation link notification for July 18[edit]

Hi. Thank you for your recent edits. An automated process has detected that when you recently edited Mount Rushmore in popular culture, you added a link pointing to the disambiguation page ALF. Such links are usually incorrect, since a disambiguation page is merely a list of unrelated topics with similar titles. (Read the FAQ • Join us at the DPL WikiProject.)

It's OK to remove this message. Also, to stop receiving these messages, follow these opt-out instructions. Thanks, DPL bot (talk) 05:59, 18 July 2021 (UTC)[reply]

List of footballers with more goals than caps[edit]

Hello!

I suggest adding a link to the source the listing is based, as otherwise you are risking getting the article deleted, since people will fairly consider it as original research, and I also suggest adding "men's" to the title (to do that you can rename the article by moving it) so to be accurate, unless you are planning in the future to also include women footballers in the list.

Cheers!

Spanish regional flags[edit]

Please stop adding regional/sub national flags on Spain women's national football team. The region of Spain people are from has no bearing on their ability to play football. Subnational flags fail MOS:FLAGRELEVANCE, Subnational flags (regions, cities, etc.) should generally be used only when directly relevant to the article. Those flags would be relevant on an article about Political divisions of Spain, but not on the national football team page. These flags are also being discussed at Wikipedia talk:WikiProject Football#Spain women's national football team, other repeated nationalist edits, feel free to contribute there to explain why you believe they are necessary. A discussion is taking place as to whether the article List of footballers with more goals than caps is suitable for inclusion in Wikipedia according to Wikipedia's policies and guidelines or whether it should be deleted.

Notice

The article Eli Artola has been proposed for deletion because it appears to have no references. Under Wikipedia policy, this biography of a living person will be deleted after seven days unless it has at least one reference to a reliable source that directly supports material in the article.

If you created the article, please don't be offended. Instead, consider improving the article. For help on inserting references, see Referencing for beginners, or ask at the help desk. Once you have provided at least one reliable source, you may remove the {{prod blp/dated}} tag. Please do not remove the tag unless the article is sourced. If you cannot provide such a source within seven days, the article may be deleted, but you can request that it be undeleted when you are ready to add one. Eli Artola moved to draftspace[edit]

An article you recently created, Eli Artola, is not suitable as written to remain published. It needs more citations from reliable, independent sources. (?) WP:NFOOTY is no longer a valid SNG, so GNG must be met. It needs several refs from independent, reliable, secondary sources to pass WP:GNG. It should have at least 3 of those. Please remember that routine sports coverage does not satisfy GNG, and that interviews, being primary sources, do not go to notability either. Information that can't be referenced should be removed (verifiability is of central importance on Wikipedia). If this was the first article that you created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

The page Spain national football team Tour of the South American has been speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This was done under section G12 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appeared to be an unambiguous copyright infringement. This page appeared to be a direct copy from https://soccernostalgia.blogspot.com/2017/06/teams-on-tour-part-8-spains-tour-of-1981.html. For legal reasons, we cannot accept copyrighted text or images taken from other web sites or printed material, and as a consequence, your addition has been be deleted. You may use external websites or other printed material as a source of information, but not as a source of sentences. This part is crucial: say it in your own words. Wikipedia takes copyright violations very seriously and persistent violators will be blocked from editing.

If the external website or image belongs to you, and you want to allow Wikipedia to use the text or image — which means allowing other people to use it for any reason — then you must verify that externally by one of the processes explained at Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials. The same holds if you are not the owner but have their permission. If you are not the owner and do not have permission, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission for how you may obtain it. You might want to look at Wikipedia's copyright policy for more details, or ask a question here.

Please do not recreate the material without addressing these concerns, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If you think this page should not have been deleted for this reason, you may contact the deleting administrator, or if you have already done so, you may open a discussion at Wikipedia:Deletion Review. Hello, Txikon

Welcome to Wikipedia! I edit here too, under the username MicrobiologyMarcus, and I thank you for your contributions.

I wanted to let you know, however, that I've proposed an article that you started, 1995 Albena Cup, for deletion because it meets one or more of our deletion criteria, and I don't think that it is suitable for inclusion in the encyclopedia. The particular issue can be found in the notice that is now visible at the top of the article.

If you wish to contest the deletion:

  1. Edit the page
  2. Remove the text that looks like this: {{proposed deletion/dated...}}
  3. Click the Publish changes button.

If you object to the article's deletion, please remember to explain why you think the article should be kept on the article's talk page and improve the page to address the issues raised in the deletion notice. Otherwise, it may be deleted later by other means.

If you have any questions, please leave a comment here and prepend it with {{Re|MicrobiologyMarcus}}. And remember to sign your reply with ~~~~. Thanks!
