DRN

You're doing a phenomonal job so far, and thank you for picking up the discussion about the psychic. I saw your comment regarding extensiveness of discussion on the other thread, and I agree. I wouldn't continue that particular one until the other editors involved either chime in at DRN or at the talk page. North of Eden (talk) 11:46, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello from 117.193.192.166

Why are you removing the Pictures from "List of active Indian military aircraft" page? Please restore it!It looks good with the picture. — Preceding unsigned comment added by 117.193.192.166 (talk) 13:26, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello @117.193.192.166: I too think it looks good with those pictures but, the pictures were removed as part of a community consensus to remove images in Wikipedia:Wikiproject Aviation (list of active Indian military project is in it's scope). See the discussion in the project's talk page to get an idea. Regards--JAaron95 Talk 13:36, 8 August 2015 (UTC)

Doppelganger account creation

Hi Jaaron95, thank you for accepting my request to create a doppelganger account for me. I would also like to request if you could create a few more under a few other names, or if I should be submitting my request through the proper channel instead. Regards, Optakeover(Talk) 05:45, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello Optakeover, I cannot create an account unless you send in a formal request. Please send a request using the form, and I'll be happy to process your request. Regards--JAaron95 Talk 10:20, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
Do I also have to keep a list of all my doppelganger accounts? Optakeover(Talk) 14:58, 9 August 2015 (UTC)
Optakeover well, it's not necessary to do so. But, I recommend adding them to your userpage, no need if you don't want to. Regards--JAaron95 Talk 15:08, 9 August 2015 (UTC)

That name is very vulgar British slang. I've blocked the account as a username violation. Just thought you should know. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:07, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

could you explain me deletion Ganymede? You have got Zinga site on Wikipedia(about online games), so why not Ganymede? Blesay let me know. Thank You, Kaszna (talk) 09:29, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello @Kaszna: thanks for your contributions here. The page you created was deleted because, it was not worthy of inclusion in an encyclopedia (in this case, Wikipedia). Please read the general notability guidelines on what warrants an article. Regards--JAaron95 Talk 17:25, 10 August 2015 (UTC)

Thanks NawlinWiki you might as well consider soft-blocking 0pt4k3ov3r, 0pt4ke0v3r, 0ptak30v3r, and 0pt4k30v3r. BTW, came across IP 190.74.144.171, which is part of the range block you placed as {{blocked proxy}}. But, the particular IP doesn't seem to be an open proxy. Could you clarify? @NawlinWiki: @Jaaron95: Noted both of you. Just to let both of you know, I'm editing out of Singapore, ISP Starhub CableVision. Nawlin: May I enquire the blocking policy for doppelganger accounts? I have read WP:SOCK and don't intend to break the policy or use the doppelganger accounts for editing. Finally, do you need me to reveal all my other doppelgangers? Optakeover(Talk) 15:06, 11 August 2015 (UTC)
I actually softblocked the first one before realizing these were requested doppelgangers. I probably won't bother with the rest. And re 190.74.144.171 -- that is a CanTV Venezuela account. Whether or not they show as proxies, we had a longtime vandal who seemed to be able to use any of them with impunity. NawlinWiki (talk) 15:38, 11 August 2015 (UTC)

British Kashmiri Mediation

Thank you for mediating a very tough dispute. I notice that some of the editors are commenting on each other rather than on content. I suggest collapsing or hatting those comments with a note to that effect. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:07, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

@Robert McClenon: I've done that, thanks. You could also assist me in my moderation (gimme advice, things like that)! Regards--JAaron95 Talk 18:20, 12 August 2015 (UTC)

Based on the difference between UTC and the local time that you state, is IST Indian Standard Time? If so, you may be very aware of the prejudices that different Pakistanis and Kashmiris have to each other. Are you asking me to assist you in collapsing the personal comments? If the personal comments continue, it may be necessary to fail the discussion. I hope not. Robert McClenon (talk) 18:45, 12 August 2015 (UTC)
@Robert McClenon: Yes it's Indian Standard Time. And yes, I'm very well aware of those prejudices! Assisting me to handle this case is more than welcome... Regards--JAaron95 Talk 00:48, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello from Rishav17

Hello, Thank you for taking the time to review the article on "Fenda Audio India". I'd like to understand the specific reasons why you went ahead & declined the submission.

As per your comment - I went through the Wikipedia:Notability (organizations and companies) and the Golden Rule and I feel my article already satisfies the suggested criteria. The company, its corporate history, its outreach & product line has been widely covered on reputed & independent websites & news agencies such as Digit (magazine), NDTV, Businessworld, The Financial Express (India) and others. These sources and their coverage are neither of the following:

  • sources that simply report meeting times, shopping hours or event schedules,

the publications of telephone numbers, addresses, and directions in business directories,

  • inclusion in lists of similar organizations,
  • the season schedule or final score from sporting events,
  • routine communiqués announcing such matters as the hiring or departure of personnel,
  • brief announcements of mergers or sales of part of the business,
  • simple statements that a product line is being sold, changed, or discontinued,
  • routine notices of facility openings or closings (e.g., closure for a holiday or the end of the regular season),
  • routine notices of the opening or closing of local branches, franchises, or shops,
  • routine restaurant reviews,[disputed – discuss]
  • quotations from an organization's personnel as story sources, or
  • passing mention, such as identifying a quoted person as working for an organization

Moreover the company in the past five years has been identified as a fast growing Indian Sound Technology company and has received a multitude of awards such as the DIGIT Award for Best Speakers in 2011, the CHIP - Best Performance Award 2011 and the CHIP - Best Value on Group Test of Portable Speakers Comparison 2012. Fenda Audio was also adjudged among the Top 2 companies in Delhi by Microsoft in the Completely Boss Challenge. Fenda India has a growing customer base of over 5 million in India. Fenda India is one of India's best audio & sound device manufacturers.

I feel the above justifies the inclusion of the article on Wikipedia. Please consider my request and reinstate the page, as I have resubmitted it for consideration or guide me towards what cited sources in particular that you expect.

--Rishav17 (talk) 15:34, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

@Rishav17: Thank you for your contributions. As you have read the notability guidelines and are fully aware of verifiability, reliable sources etc., I need not explain anything to you. Since you've also resubmitted the article, we'll wait for another editor to review the article and see what he thinks. Regards--JAaron95 Talk 16:05, 13 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello from François Robere

Hey Jaaron95,

I've recently requested dispute resolution Re:All Along the Watchtower. You've closed the discussion citing This dispute doesn't seem to have been extensively discussed (in fact not even discussed) in the article's talk page. As I noted in the request under Have you tried to resolve this previously? I've "[approached] the user in a civil manner on their talkpage", and that is where the discussion took place, since it was about the user's conduct in the article, not about the article itself. I've made my best effort to explain the situation to the user before filing a request for dispute resolution, as you can see on their talkpage. What's your opinion on reopening the case? François Robere (talk) 11:35, 15 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello François Robere, user conduct issues aren't within the limits of Dispute Resolution Noticeboard (DRN). DRN can only help resolve disputes, and not conduct issues. User conduct issues can be reported to Administrators Noticeboard/Incidents. And, edit warring can be reported to Administrators' noticeboard/Edit warring. Hope that helps. Formal mediation has been requested

The Mediation Committee has received a request for formal mediation of the dispute relating to "British Pakistanis". As an editor concerned in this dispute, you are invited to participate in the mediation. Mediation is a voluntary process which resolves a dispute over article content by facilitation, consensus-building, and compromise among the involved editors. After reviewing the request page, the formal mediation policy, and the guide to formal mediation, please indicate in the "party agreement" section whether you agree to participate. Because requests must be responded to by the Mediation Committee within seven days, please respond to the request by 23 August 2015.

Discussion relating to the mediation request is welcome at the case talk page. Thank you.

Hello from Jamescott222

hello what could I do to not get Andrew Phillip Almanza article not get deleted he is an upcoming actor and this article of all of his work he's previously done would help a lot. If is has not been speedy deleted yet does it have potential? — Preceding unsigned comment added by Jamescott222 (talkcontribs) 07:06, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

@Jamescott222: Thanks for your contributions here. Sure, you can save the article from being deleted by establishing the subject's notability. This can be done easily by adding multiple reliable sources which covered the subject significantly, thus to make it pass the notability guideline. Once you have done that, contest the deletion by stating your rationale on why not to delete the page. If your page gets deleted, ask the deleting admin to restore the page to your preferred location (eg. Sandbox). You can edit the article there and once it is well sourced, you can move it to namespace. P.S., Biographies of living people must have references for contensious material. Regards—JAaron95 Talk 10:00, 17 August 2015 (UTC)

Request for mediation accepted

The request for formal mediation of the dispute concerning British Pakistanis, in which you were listed as a party, has been accepted by the Mediation Committee. The case will be assigned to an active mediator within two weeks, and mediation proceedings should begin shortly thereafter. Proceedings will begin at the case information page, Wikipedia:Requests for mediation/British Pakistanis, so please add this to your watchlist. Formal mediation is governed by the Mediation Committee and its Policy. The Policy, and especially the first two sections of the "Mediation" section, should be read if you have never participated in formal mediation. For a short guide to accepted cases, see the "Accepted requests" section of the Guide to formal mediation. You may also want to familiarise yourself with the internal Procedures of the Committee.

As mediation proceedings begin, be aware that formal mediation can only be successful if every participant approaches discussion in a professional and civil way, and is completely prepared to compromise. Please contact the Committee if anything is unclear.

ATOM Records relist

It doesn't matter all that much, but I was wondering why you relisted the ATOM Records AfD instead of closing it. The delete vote was supported with cited policy and indicated an actual search had been made. The strong oppose was from the SPA article author, citing "notability info" for a band that was on the label, but which was not pertinent to the label itself. Said notability info has not been considered valid at the band's AfD. MSJapan (talk) 19:58, 19 August 2015 (UTC)

@MSJapan: Thank you for getting to me and sorry for the late response. The AfD has simply not received enough discussion to delete it immediately. Running it for another week or two for the sake of more !votes from other editors makes no harm. If you think I've erred, you can contact the admin Northamerica1000. Hello from Rtapscott

Jaaron95, I was wondering what will happen if the page Esperança (non-profit) does not receive enough votes? Will the AfD tag be removed due to the the votes to keep the page?Rtapscott (talk) 15:14, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello @Rtapscott: In the current form, the Afd will be closed as keep. If there are both delete and keep !votes, and if no decision can be made, then the AfD will be closed as no consensus. If there is consensus to delete, the article will be deleted. Yes, the AfD tag will be removed if the article is kept. Regards—JAaron95 Talk 16:02, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello from Mecanismo

Regarding the conflict resolution problem, what alternative do you suggest for the case involving edits to the Order of a polynomial article? I would prefer to nip any potential dispute in the bud instead of letting it escalate enough to deserve an entry in the conflict resolution page Mecanismo | Talk 16:29, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello @Mecanismo: thank you for approaching this in a civil manner. The best possible solution to resolve an issue at its bud state is to discuss the issue with the involved editor in the article's talk page. This can give you fruitful results. In this way, you can know what s/he thinks and s/he can know what you think. And hopefully can come to a consensus. Regards—JAaron95 Talk 17:46, 21 August 2015 (UTC)

Dear Jaaron, plz refer to the article 'Battle of Longewala' https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Battle_of_Longewala The Indian Air Force Destroyed more than 20 tanks in the battle which is famous for destruction highest number of tanks after the Battle of El Alamein in World War II. Plz verify the facts before you make changes.

For your convenience I am pasting the line from the article 'Battle of Longewala' that justifies the changes I had made:

"Many IAF officers later described the attack as a 'Turkey Shoot' signifying the lopsidedness. By noon the next day, the assault ended completely, having cost Pakistan 22 tanks claimed destroyed by aircraft fire, 12 by ground anti-tank fire, and some captured after being abandoned, with a total of 100 vehicles claimed to have been destroyed or damaged in the desert around the post."

Thanks.

Your comment re my draft article, I am afraid, reveals the common Wikipedia editor's ignorance of business matters. Hello @Feingolds132: I've gone ahead and did a major copy edit of the article and moved it to draftspace (Common place were articles are submitted for review). You can find it here Draft:Howard Brody. In the current form, your article won't be accepted, 'cause it does not meet the notability guidelines of a Professor. Remember, you are writing an encyclopedic article and not a CV. Content must be encyclopedic, written in an encyclopedic manner. You need to add reliable sources to establish the notability of the professor. Please add the reliable sources in between <ref> and </ref> tags (A single link(URL)). Since it is a Biography of a Living person, content must be verifiable. This can be done by adding sources using the ref tags. What I would suggest is to edit the articles already present in mainspace, so that you'll know how to present an article. Hope that helps. Regards—JAaron95 Talk 03:10, 29 August 2015 (UTC)

Hello from Vucrusader

Thank you for your diligence in seeking feedback and comments on the Prime Advantage entry. To date, we have received one supporting request to delete the article, and like the original request, it doesn't offer any facts about why it should be deleted. We have also received three comments supporting the page, plus the last comment that offered detailed, factual support for keeping the entry. This entry has already been relisted twice for consideration of page deletion, and yet no one can offer any factual support for why the page should be deleted. Instead, you keep getting uninformed opinions with no supporting statements. I am requesting that you take the page off the 'consideration for deletion' list and instead let it continue to grow and evolve. There have been no good reasons put forth for why the page should be deleted. Thank you.Vucrusader (talk) 15:53, 31 August 2015 (UTC)

You are incorrect

The DRN about the train attacks is in progress.

People are still commenting. Two of the 4 editors have not commented, except one writes that he wants to comment.

The box at the top of the DRN lists all the cases and list this one as "in progress". Therefore, it seems like there is a bug. At the very least, DRN is user unfriendly since things are closed when there's an error causing re-opening many times. The user friendly way would be to note errors and allow a reasonable time to correct them. Hello Jaaron95, thank you for your input regarding the DRN. I read your comment and I feel like I need to provide more information since the info you assumed were not exact. So to summary, it is been 6 months I am in an edit war with some IPs and then one new account named Francis le Francais who is heavily suspected to be sockpuppets of those IP. They made edit war on the page by changing the article whenever they did not understand something. So I invited them to discuss on the talk, but they refused and continued their edit war. Then one admin blocked the page from edit to force the discussion. I gave the explanation one by one to their comments but still they don't agree or faint to not understand. So, I tried every single mediation procedures while the edit war is still on going on the page. Explanations are there, but still, they (now it is only Francis le Francais) keep editing the article as he feels like. When some users gave some comments that disagree with him, he ignores quoting wiki rules that he does not understand. There are basically 7 topics in the article that I listed where there is a war. I try to get the input of neutral and experienced editors so that it can end the war. For now only, Ravenswing is able to understand French and give firm neutral opinion. I tried 3rd party opinion, RFC, mediation, DRN, everything is refused. Do you think I should go to incident noticeboard or Edit warring page? Thank you D0kkaebi (talk) 02:09, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

His way (D0kkaebi) of presenting the facts seem to me wrong.
As shown historical talk pages (PRU, Asselineau, D0kkaebi), I suggested to this user dialogues which it does not participate and remains silent. As shown historical, I understand the wiki's rules better than him because I show him their existence...
--Francis Le français (talk) 05:45, 3 September 2015 (UTC)
@D0kkaebi: Now it clearly is evident that it's a conduct issue. And as you might know, conduct issues cannot be resolved in Dispute Resolution Noticeboard. Please take the issue to Administrators' Noticeboard and (or) at Edit Warring Noticeboard (if edit warring continues). Regards—JAaron95 Talk 11:22, 3 September 2015 (UTC)

Hello from Ian Chisholm

Hi Jaaron95. I am not very computer literate and I am afraid that by asking for my user name I have already made my first mistake. I am trying to set up a Wikipedia page for my son who is a film-maker and does not himself have the time to spend setting up such a page. I had hoped that I would be able to Title the page Daniel Chisholm - but it seems that I cannot do that. I don't want to create a page with the Title Ian Chisholm, but rather Daniel Chisholm - could you help? Sorry for the inconvenience! — Preceding unsigned comment added by Ian Chisholm (talkcontribs) 11:52, 4 September 2015 (UTC)

@Ian Chisholm: Welcome to Wikipedia. I hope this place accommodates you well. I've also received your mail and I guess I'll reply here. Usernames are not Wikipedia articles rather, it represents you as an editor of Wikipedia. Articles are located at the Mainspace (Please go through other spaces in the same page). There is a welcome message I left at your talk page. Please go through the links there too, which'd be a good startup read for you. First off you don't have to be a computer techie to edit Wikipedia and I'd recommend you to edit Wikipedia before creating articles. In that way, you will be familiar with the source codes, templates etc,. I see that you want to create an article about your son but, it is strongly discouraged for a person related with a person or an entity to edit/create an article about that person/entity (Please read Wikipedia's policy on Conflict of interest and Notability for people). If you insist, please use the Article Wizard (A step by step procedure) to create your article. P.S. Articles on subject that doesn't meet the notability guidelines will be declined. On small note; please don't forget to sign your messages in talk pages using ~~~~ (four tildes followed by your message). It helps to identify the sender of the message. Hope that helps. Delete, a handful of minor roles, but doesn't come close to WP:NACTOR in my view. I'm sympathetic to the argument that it's usually harder to find written information on Indian topics than Western ones, but when it's a BLP we're talking about, caution is called for. Subject must have played minor and supporting roles in various films and TV shows, but fails WP:NACTOR and WP:GNG. Mentioned only in passing in cited media articles (which themselves are mostly second-tier sources), and I couldn't locate anything more comprehensive.David 16:42, 7 September 2015 (UTC) — Preceding unsigned comment added by ManishSrivastava1 (talkcontribs)

Hello from Zoident (talk) 18:21, 7 September 2015 (UTC)r}}|Zoident]]

The article Aftermath American band now includes specific issue dates for all the magazines listed. Moreover, additional citations were added for websites, including blabblermouth.net covering the band's reunion. The original author of AfD referenced the lack of label information. All record labels that have released the band's material are now listed, including past and current labels. Shadow Kingdom and Dovebomb Records are currently reissuing the band's music. Even the author of the Delete for now referenced that he or she found an article calling Aftermath pioneering. In the May 1999 issue of College Music Journal (CMJ) they refer to the band as "Aftermath a popular demo band from the 1980's...." on page 51 of that issue.

I believe the lack of specific citations has been resolved. The band's inclusion on Wikipedia should be confirmed. Furthermore, I have taken the appropriate steps to adhere to the neutral aspects of contributing to the article by relying on facts and third party sources. A quick google search for Aftermath Eyes of Tomorrow will reveal numerous articles on the band not referenced in the article and sites selling the band's music including iTunes and Amazon.Zoident (talk) 18:21, 7 September 2015 (UTC)Zoident

A barnstar for you

The Helping Hand Barnstar
For all the help you provide to many new editors, welcoming and guiding them as well as helping to educate those who've been around for a while. You introduced me to {{subst:welcome non-latin}} that I often need but didn't know existed. Many thanks for your help and dedication. DocTree (ʞlɐʇ·ʇuoɔ) WER 18:26, 9 September 2015 (UTC)

I was just wondering if you could explain your reasoning as to why you relisted Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Howard Ehrlich. Thanks! StAnselm (talk) 18:45, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

@StAnselm: Although it can be closed as keep, my rationale was to relist the AfD since it had 2 keeps and 1 delete. However, convincing the arguments might be, getting opinions of more editors is always a good idea. You want me to revert my action? I'd be happy to. Regards—JAaron95 Talk 18:59, 11 September 2015 (UTC)
Well, it seemed clear cut to me that there wasn't going to be a consensus to delete, and so the relist option seemed like a timewaster. StAnselm (talk) 21:22, 11 September 2015 (UTC)

UA

UA = User agent. Every time you, I or anyone else connects to an Internet page, we send our UA in the Session Initiation Protocol (SIP). The UA tells the web server how to format the data returned so it looks good on our computer. Notices that cookies are required, javascript must be enabled or that your software is out-of-date may be sent based on the UA data. You can see your UA by going to whatsmyuseragent.com or any of dozens of other sites. Today, my UA on my desktop PC is:

Mozilla/5.0 (X11; Ubuntu; Linux x86_64; rv:40.0) Gecko/20100101 Firefox/40.0

  • JavaScript Enabled: Yes
  • Cookies Enabled: Yes
  • Device Pixel Ratio: 1
  • Screen Resolution: 1440 px x 900 px
  • Browser Window: 1426 px x 750 px
  • Local Time: 12:04 pm
  • Time Zone: -4 hours

A CU may write that users are technically indistinguishable or the UA is identical. In general, the same UA coming from the same IP indicates the same computer. There are exceptions. For example, a company IT department may keep all computers set up in exactly the same way and prohibit user-installed software. That makes the company's computers indistinguishable from each other. That's one reason that behaviour is so important in sockpuppet investigations. The UA changes depending on the browser. I prefer Firefox for most of my work but sometimes I use Opera, Web/Epiphany, Chrome and even Lynx. By switching browsers, I can change my UA but my IP and OS will remain the same, at least for a while. Again, behaviour is the key element to identify an abusive user. Hope this helps, DocTree (ʞlɐʇ·ʇuoɔ) WER 18:11, 14 September 2015 (UTC)

@Doctree: Thanks for the great explanation. Regards—JAaron95 Talk 07:01, 17 September 2015 (UTC)

Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hocle and Stoty

Hello! Sorry to bother you, but I was wondering why the Wikipedia:Articles for deletion/Hocle and Stoty discussion was relisted. I see it's been relisted before, and there isn't much more that can be said in the discussion (after some research, it is clear that Wikipedia does not factor in runtime when deciding whether or not TV shows are notable, which was the reason given by the lister for listing the page). Hello from Iwill41

Hi JAaron95

I am new to Wikipedia and looking for some advice please. As you can see from my email address I work for Think Money Group (www.thinkmoneygroup.careers ). In 2012 we purchased the Ocean Finance business (www.oceanfinance.co.uk) from AIG. You can see a media report of this deal here: http://www.mortgageintroducer.com/ccstory/244330/5/EXCLUSIVE:_Think_Money_buys_Ocean_Finance.htm

At present if you search for Ocean Finance on Wikipedia the AIG page comes up https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/American_International_Group#Business (there used to be an Ocean Finance page but it now just redirects). Is it possible to update / correct the AIG page to make it clear that they sold Ocean to Think Money in 2012 please.

Thank you,

Hello from 009o9

Thanks for closing the AfD on Flexible Support Fund I'm hopeful that the editor will continue to contribute in his area of expertise. The topic of Great Britain's social services is rather vast and when working on large topics, the supporting articles tend to get revisited on an irregular basis. Additionally, if he remains active, User:DanielJCooper is probably in the best position to keep the article accurate and up to date.

Additionally, it appears that government officials, by not volunteering information about the availability of funding, have made themselves notable. (warts and all) When public servants attempt to create/reserve slush-funds for whatever reason, more light need to be shined and sustained in that area. -- Thanks -- 009o9 (talk) 20:04, 26 September 2015 (UTC)

The edit I made was constructive because the original did not have the discussion of themes and the look of symbolism was a false discussion.

Premature action on AFDs
