A tag has been placed on your user page, User:Validussg/sandbox, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page appears to be advertising which only promotes or publicises someone or something. Promotional editing of any kind is not permitted, whether it be promotion of a person, company, product, group, service, belief, or anything else. This is a violation of our policies regarding acceptable use of user pages — user pages are intended for active editors of Wikipedia to communicate with one another as part of the process of creating encyclopedic content, and should not be mistaken for free webhosting resources or advertising space. Please read the guidelines on spam, the guidelines on user pages, and, especially, our FAQ for Organizations.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be deleted without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator. jlwoodwa (talk) 06:36, 24 July 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Your account has been indefinitely blocked from editing because it has been used for advertising or promotion, which is contrary to the purpose of Wikipedia. Also, your username gives the impression that the account represents a business, organisation, group, or web site, which is against the username policy.

If you intend to make useful contributions instead of promoting your business or organization, you may request unblock and a username change. In your reasons, you must follow all these steps:

  1. Disclose any compensation you may receive for your contributions in accordance with the paid-contribution disclosure requirement; and
  2. Convince us that you understand the reason for your block and that you will not repeat the kind of edits for which you were blocked; and
  3. Describe in general terms the contributions that you intend to make if you are unblocked; and
  4. Provide a new username.

To do this, insert the text {{unblock-spamun|Your proposed new username|Your reason here}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your proposed new username" with your new username and replace the text "Your reason here" with your reasons to be unblocked.

Please note that the new username you choose cannot already be taken and in use by another account. You can search to see if the username you'd like to choose is available. If the search returns that no global account with that username exists, that means it is still available.

Appeals: If, after reviewing the guide to appealing blocks, you believe this block was made in error, you may appeal it by adding the text {{unblock|reason=Your reason here ~~~~}} at the bottom of your talk page. Replace the text "Your reason here" with the reasons you believe the block was an error, and publish the page.

In accordance with Wikipedia's paid-contribution disclosure requirement, I, [Validussg], am editing Wikipedia on behalf of [Validus], and I am receiving compensation for my contributions. I understand this is required under Wikipedia's paid-contribution disclosure policy. I request that my user page be unblocked so that I can include this disclosure there as well.

Request reason:

We realized the usernames represent our business and are against Wikipedia's username policy. Additionally, we made multiple edits. We understand our mistakes and aim to contribute better to Wikipedia without any promotional intentions. Kindly unblock our user page and allow us to post the article in accordance with Wikipedia guidelines.

Decline reason:

This actually makes things worse, not better; shared accounts are not permitted here. You haven't addressed your violation of WP:COI and WP:PROMO and you haven't told us what you plan to write about instead, if unblocked. Yamla (talk) 15:54, 1 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
Thank you for your response. I understand the importance of adhering to Wikipedia's policies, including the prohibition of shared accounts and the guidelines on conflict of interest WP:COI and promotional content WP:PROMO.
I apologize for any confusion caused and for not addressing these issues in my previous communication. I am committed to complying with Wikipedia’s guidelines. To clarify, I plan to focus on creating content that is neutral and well-sourced, avoiding any promotional bias.
Could you please provide guidance on the specific steps I should take to rectify the situation and details on how to proceed with creating compliant content? Additionally, I would appreciate any advice on how to address the issue of unblocking the page, as I am eager to contribute constructively while ensuring that my edits adhere to Wikipedia’s standards.
Thank you for your understanding and assistance. Validussg (talk) 10:13, 5 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Request reason:

We realized the usernames represent our business and are against Wikipedia's username policy. Additionally, we made multiple edits. We understand our mistakes and aim to contribute better to Wikipedia without any promotional intentions. Kindly unblock our user page and allow us to post the article about my company, Validus, in accordance with Wikipedia guidelines. Validussg (talk) 09:54, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

Decline reason:

This choice of new username is not an improvement; it sounds like a position at your company. As you have already been told, accounts may not be shared, this account must be exclusively used by a single indivdual who may not give others access. Others at your company will need their own accounts(but they should not create them until this block is removed to avoid sock puppetry). Wikipedia is not a place for companies to tell about themselves and what they do. That is considered promotional here, you don't have to be actively soliciting customers or selling something. Wikipedia articles are typically written by independent editors wholly unconnected with the topic, and summarize what independent reliable sources with significant coverage have chosen on their own to say about (in this case) a company, showing how it meets the special Wikipedia definition of a notable company. Not every company merits a Wikipedia article, even within the same field, the vast majority of companies do not. You won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your company. If that is your only goal here, this is the end of the road. If you want to be a more general contributor and edit about topics for which you have no conflict of interest, please tell what those might be. Once you have a good edit history demonstrating your understanding of relevant policies, you may later be permitted to edit about your company indirectly, but not now. I am declining your request. 331dot (talk) 08:57, 9 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

I have fixed your unblock request by removing the "nowiki" tags. I am not an admin, but I can tell you that if your only interest for being on Wikipedia is to write about your company, then the chances of you being unblocked are not good.

Wikipedia is not a business directory, so a company is not entitled to have a Wikipedia article just because it exists. All topics must be notable by Wikipedia's definition to merit inclusion. In the specific case of a company, it must meet the notability criteria for companies and organizations. For this to happen, the company must have already received significant coverage in multiple reliable and independent sources. We have no interest in what a company wishes to say about itself, as this is an inherent conflict of interest. --Drm310 🍁 (talk) 17:12, 8 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]

If you noticed, in your last unblock request, you were told that "you won't be unblocked to, in the short term, edit about your company." So your plan to "write an article about [your] company's history, success, and achievements," is the opposite of what needs to happen. If you didn't read the unblock reply, it makes one wonder if you did, in fact, read the other things. CoffeeCrumbs (talk) 14:23, 13 August 2024 (UTC)[reply]
