If this is the first article that you have created, you may want to read the guide to writing your first article.

You may want to consider using the Article Wizard to help you create articles.

A tag has been placed on Hydroelectricity cell, requesting that it be speedily deleted from Wikipedia. This has been done under section G11 of the criteria for speedy deletion, because the page seems to be unambiguous advertising which only promotes a company, product, group, service or person and would need to be fundamentally rewritten in order to become encyclopedic. Please read the guidelines on spam and Wikipedia:FAQ/Organizations for more information.

If you think this page should not be deleted for this reason, you may contest the nomination by visiting the page and clicking the button labelled "Contest this speedy deletion". This will give you the opportunity to explain why you believe the page should not be deleted. However, be aware that once a page is tagged for speedy deletion, it may be removed without delay. Please do not remove the speedy deletion tag from the page yourself, but do not hesitate to add information in line with Wikipedia's policies and guidelines. If the page is deleted, and you wish to retrieve the deleted material for future reference or improvement, then please contact the deleting administrator.  GILO   A&E  17:33, 7 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hydroelectric cell[edit]

Hi there and welcome again to Wikipedia and thanks that you are contributing. I just wanted to let you know that articles should not be duplciated. THere is a disucssion about relevance of Hydroelectricity cell ongoing. There is no point creating an identical article as Hydroelectric cell. May I suggest to reinstate the redirect that was in place and wait for the new page review of the first article? Creation of duplicate articles will only lead to deletion of both and potential edit block. If you need any help or clarification, please let me know. Kindly check page i have created under user section with same name "hydroelectic cell" and give your valuable feedback. So that i can create its post in main pages. Also what is file extension used for wikimedia markup, I have been using .media and .mediawiki, both giving same results during pandoc conversion.

I will echo what Jake Brockman said below: The draft currently does not cite any references, the use of "our" and "we" indicates it might be original research (for which Wikipedia is not the appropriate venue) or even copy-pasted from elsewhere in violation of copyright, and the tone seems meant to promote hydroelectric cells. I have added a messagebox to the top of your draft that allows you to submit it for a review by an experienced editor, but if those issues are not addressed, the submission will not be accepted.
To my knowledge there is no "file extension" for the markup used by Wikipedia and other MediaWiki wikis. According to the Pandoc manual the parameter to be used to convert something into MediaWiki markup is -t mediawiki. Huon (talk) 09:45, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Hi there. I just had a look at what you have on your user page as you had asked me to. A couple of observations: 1) the start to the article seems a bit steep. Maybe you should begin with a general description of that the hydroelectric cell is. Maybe look at the article for Solar cell as guidance. 2) claims that the cell is "safe", "clean" and "low cost", etc. will definitely require solid independent verification. If there is not peer reviewed confirmation of the same, I'd leave it out and stay on the descriptive level. 3) reviewers will be looking if the wording is neutral or comes across as promotional/marketing of own work. Avoid superlatives ("best", "breakthrough") and comparatives to other concepts ("more efficient than", "similar to") unless, again, this has verifiable peer reviewed third party backing. 4) check your wording. Somewhere I read "our " which seems to indicate you are involved in that research, which again would raise questions of neutrality. 5) make sure the article is own wording and not copied/previously published, otherwise this may get a copyright deletion. 6) last but most important: add references to each claim. The more references the better. Include a link to the published study and I think there are also a number of articles in popular scientistic and regular press. Those are always good to proof relevance. If a concept is not being talked about in the press over a period of time, it will fail the notability test. Finally, those are just my views and I am supportive of this getting an article after I have done some research on this. There will be other reviewers and admins who may think differently, so there is no guarantee. Jake Brockman (talk) 07:27, 8 April 2017 (UTC)[reply]

Wikipedia and copyright[edit]

Control copyright icon Hello Ved varun! Your additions to National Physical Laboratory of India have been removed in whole or in part, as they appear to have added copyrighted content without evidence that the source material is in the public domain or has been released by its owner or legal agent under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. (To request such a release, see Wikipedia:Requesting copyright permission.) While we appreciate your contributions to Wikipedia, there are certain things you must keep in mind about using information from sources to avoid copyright and plagiarism issues.

  • You can only copy/translate a small amount of a source, and you must mark what you take as a direct quotation with double quotation marks (") and cite the source using an inline citation. You can read about this at Wikipedia:Non-free content in the sections on "text". See also Help:Referencing for beginners, for how to cite sources here.
  • Aside from limited quotation, you must put all information in your own words and structure, in proper paraphrase. Following the source's words too closely can create copyright problems, so it is not permitted here; see Wikipedia:Close paraphrasing. Even when using your own words, you are still, however, asked to cite your sources to verify the information and to demonstrate that the content is not original research.
  • We have strict guidelines on the usage of copyrighted images. Fair use images must meet all ten of the non-free content criteria in order to be used in articles, or they will be deleted. To be used on Wikipedia, all other images must be made available under a free and open copyright license that allows commercial and derivative reuse.
  • If you own the copyright to the source you want to copy or are a legally designated agent, you may be able to license that text so that we can publish it here. Understand, though, that unlike many other sites, where a person can license their content for use there and retain non-free ownership, that is not possible at Wikipedia. Rather, the release of content must be irrevocable, to the world, into either the public domain (PD) or under a suitably-free and compatible copyright license. Such a release must be done in a verifiable manner, so that the authority of the person purporting to release the copyright is evidenced. See Wikipedia:Donating copyrighted materials.
  • Also note that Wikipedia articles may not be copied or translated without attribution. If you want to copy or translate from another Wikipedia project or article, you must follow the copyright attribution steps described at Wikipedia:Copying within Wikipedia. See also Help:Translation#License requirements.

It's very important that contributors understand and follow these practices, as policy requires that people who persistently do not must be blocked from editing. If you have any questions about this, you are welcome to leave me a message on my talk page. Thank you. — Diannaa (talk) 03:11, 10 June 2022 (UTC)[reply]
